What’s Wrong With Holly?

In the afterglow Tate and Holly sneak into the living room thanking the Lord above take Aaron and Arianna haven’t returned. They discuss the prior Valentine’s Day when they had sex for the first time. She is so happy but is awaiting the other shoe to drop based on all they’ve been through. Tate says she deserves to be happy leading Holly to get back to normal and say she is a wee peckish.

Tate makes Holly a little nosh. His half-naked self prances in and presents his dinner to his beloved. She takes one bite, looks squeamish and runs for the bathroom. Holly returns and promises her quick escape has nothing to do with his cooking. She notes her new prescription which has nausea as a possible side effect. With that, Tate heads out to the kitchen for ginger ale.

Holly falls asleep and Tate is there when she awakens. They continue to annoyingly kiss which makes me wonder where Aaron and Arianna are… Just then, there is a knock on the door with a man who serves Holly a Mama Choi court summons.

Dr Rolf Gives Lexie a Moment of Reprieve on Days of Our Lives!

Lexie and her shaking hand are sitting at home when she gets a call from Kayla. She says she cancelled her appointment and wanted to make sure all was okay. Lexie makes an excuse and promises to make a call to reschedule. With that, she grabs her purse and exits.

EJ is in the tunnels with Dr Rolf asking about his master plan. He says he has made the necessary refinements to the drug. Their surviving rats have begun to recover, and he believes the same will happen for Lexie.

Lexie stumbles through the door in the tunnels leading EJ and Dr Rolf to catch her fall. They ask if she is okay, and she is rightfully annoyed as she is clearly not any kind of feeling good. She needs them to fix whatever is going on with her right quick before she descends towards death. EJ promises her a plan is in place, and Dr Rolf follows up saying they will top her off with a little more juice which will make her current symptoms cease and desist.

EJ apologizes for having other things to do before quickly exiting. Lexie asks Dr Rolf to assure her he has an actual plan for her recovery. The good doctor says what he is about to inject into her is her only shot at survival. Further, he notes how much this drug and course of treatment could mean so much to so many other people. With that, Lexie consents and Rolf injects.

Abe, Paulina and Lexie Have a Very Awkward Encounter

Paulina unexpectedly meets up with Abe in Horton Square and is more surprised when he hands her flowers and wishes her a Happy Anniversary (I don’t blame her as he has basically forgotten her existence). She pushes the flowers back at him and says he shouldn’t have bought them for her. Abe didn’t want her to think he had forgotten their anniversary and she appreciates the sentiment.

Abe asks about Chanel who is having her port put in today. Paulina wishes she could drop everything, but her daughter insisted she speak at the Juneteenth event. With the mention of Juneteenth, the duo head into an extended flashback about their wedding. In real-time, they both admit their memories are wonderful.

Paulina decides it’s time to go when Abe stops her apologizing for not keeping in better touch (Seriously? They were MARRIED and Lexie is now living in the condo THEY EQUALLY OWNED!). Paulina takes a breath and says she knows he was trying to do his best to support his resurrected wife. Abe says he wanted her to know he loves her, but Paulina stops him because she can’t know what she is supposed to do with those sentiments. She stumbles over other words, thanks him for the flowers and quickly exits.  

Lani and Theo Support Their Sister on Days of Our Lives

Lani and Theo arrive at Chanel’s place with goodies for both her current and future children. They go back and forth a bit before Theo and Lani assure her, they are family and they are there to support her.

Lani asks about Johnny’s location, and Chanel says she pushed him to go to work as his anxiousness was making her antsy. Lani just knows Chanel and Johnny will get through this trying time as she does everything, with grace and strength.

Chanel notes it is time to go to the hospital for her port placement. She thanks Theo and Lani for being supportive and makes her exit. They chat a bit about the gifts Lani picked up for both Rachel and Little T. Theo notes how surprised he is that his sister Lani is so close to his DiMera sister Kristen. Lani gets it but says they are a lot more alike than anyone thinks.

Kristen Tries to Poison Johnny's Renewed Relationship With His Daddy!

Kristen approaches Johnny’s table in Horton Square. Their initial conversation sends her into flashbacks from prior conversations with EJ about their children. In real-time, they talk about the Sophia of it all and what must have been going through her head when she held him hostage.

Johnny notes how troubled Sophia was but understands why she felt about him the way she did. He feels responsible enough to own his part in everything which Kristen appreciates. Johnny thinks having a family changes you and Kristen agrees (As much as Kristen wants to retaliate against EJ, she clearly appreciates her nephew’s maturity).

Kristen asks about the flowers, and Johnny says they are for Chanel who is going into surgery today for breast cancer. He says the prognosis is good, but the entire journey has been a lot. She expresses her sympathies and then pushes about how EJ must have used the situation to worm his way back into his son’s life. Johnny surprises Kristen when he says his father has been surprisingly supportive. Kristen notes how manipulative EJ is and urges her nephew not to allow his father back into his life. Just then, Kristen gets a call and exits.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Gabi Makes Xander and Philip an Offer They Can't Refuse

Chanel and Johnny arrive at the hospital and encounter Kayla who asks who else might be coming. Chanel wanted to await her mother’s arrival but decides to get on with it and heads off to surgery.

Paulina arrives later and Johnny says she has already headed off for the port placement. He says both he and Chanel know she is juggling a lot. Paulina mentions running into Abe and Johnny says how sorry he is she had to deal with the Juneteenth anniversary of it all. Paulina is touched he even remembered… but she is only worried about her baby girl.

EJ is pouring himself some dark liquor in the DiMera mansion living room when Kristen approaches. Just then, Lexie emerges from the tunnels, and Kristen asks about her appointment with Dr Rolf. Lexie covers and says she must return home to her husband before he wonders where she went.

Kayla preps Chanel for surgery and assures she is doing everything right. Chanel talks about her pregnancy and hopes she is having a girl so she can mix things up with Little T.

Abe returns home just as Lexie does the same. He is worried about her, but she wants to head out with him to enjoy a Juneteenth celebration she was never before able to enjoy.

Later…

Chanel returns from her port placement and Johnny takes her home.

Theo and Lani are back at Johnny and Chanel’s place. Lani wonders how his brother is actually doing. He says he is good but wishes they could actually family up together.

Abe wants to sit the Juneteenth event out, but Lexie wants to celebrate it since it happened during her unfortunate slumber.

Kristen asks EJ if he would bring her back from the dead if the situation arose. They go back and forth before she mentions Chanel’s cancer. They go back and forth which leads to no forward progress.

Holly reads the summons and tells Tate that Mama Choi is suing her for personal and emotional damages based on how she contributed to Sophia’s “death.’

Chanel and Johnny arrive home to find Theo and Lani awaiting their arrival. Little T is totally asleep, and the siblings take that moment to exit and head home. Afterwards, Chanel says she is good and hopes her future treatment will help her and them get down to family business.

Chanel is by herself at the hospital when she connects with Kayla… which connects them to Abe. Before Paulina can leave, Kayla suggests they go together.

Lexie asks why Abe is putting up a fight about the Juneteenth celebration. She pushes a lot and says it’s something they shouldn’t miss.

EJ remains with Dr Rolf and pretends to be comforted by his words about Lexie.

Even later, Kristen calls to check up on her “dear, sweet Sydney.”

Philip and Theo run into each other in Horton Square. Philip asks about Lexie and then Theo says he is sorry about him and Gabi. They exchange information and Philip apologizes for Gabi dragging him into their drama. They both commiserate about their dealings with Gabi.

Gabi Warns Leo to Back Off Javi!

Leo arrives at the Hernandez House and scares Gabi half to death. Leo gets he isn’t welcome but saw Javi’s favorite goody at Sweet Bits and wanted to bring it by. Gabi knows he is only there to spy on Javi and his very handsome boyfriend.

Leo only admits to dropping off the tarts and wanting to retrieve a book from Rafe. Gabi doesn’t care and presses about Javi and his ridiculously hot boyfriend. She tells him to stop lurking before she exits. Afterwards, Leo says to himself that Javi has a new boyfriend who is hotter than him and he is simply an afterthought before he walks away (Poor, Leo…).

EJ Has Upsetting Encounters With Multiple Family Members on Days of Our Lives

Chad and EJ run into each other in the DiMera living room. They get into the Johnny/Theo partnership at DiMera and Chad says he never thought he would see the day where Tony and EJ would be able to peacefully coexist. EJ never thought he would see the day where his brother and Belle would be kissing on live television. EJ ribs Chad by saying he and Cat were making out at the same time he and Belle were doing the same. Chad and EJ get into Cat. EJ says he and Cat share an amazing connection that they are just beginning to explore. Chad can’t take anymore of his brother and exits.

Johnny arrives to see his father who congratulates him on the lawsuit being dropped. When he reveals Xander admitted he set him up, EJ wants to exact revenge. Johnny stops him saying his revenge cycle must stop, which backs him down. EJ asks why his son has come to visit, and Johnny says he can’t understand why he turned down Paulina when she asked him to give his lifesaving drug to Chanel.

EJ says he didn’t know how the drug would impact Chanel’s pregnancy and didn’t want to use her as a guinea pig. Further, she has a treatment in place to deal with her cancer. Johnny takes a beat and says Chanel doesn’t even know he’s there and didn’t want the drug. That being said, he wants to know if his father would reconsider if a miracle is ever needed.

Johnny mentions how well Lexie is doing just as Theo arrives. They get into working at DiMera and EJ internally freaks out when the duo agrees to be co-CEOs of DiMera. Later, Johnny exits leaving Theo and EJ to play chess.

Theo brings up Gabi who EJ wants to keep in courtroom hell forever over the DiMera inheritance. Theo knows it’s not the right thing to do as Stefan clearly didn’t intend to divorce her.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: The Brat Pack Arrives at The Horton Cabin

Belle and Marlena are at the townhouse discussing how Xander and Kate set Johnny up. They discuss the Basic Black of it all and Marlena says she is certain all will work out as she tries to honor John’s company.

Marlena brings up Belle and Chad’s kiss at the baseball game. They have a good giggle before mama gets serious and tells her to be careful with yet another DiMera brother.

Chad and Belle Investigate Stefano’s Chess Set

Chad arrives to see Belle at the townhouse. They get into the chess set and Chad thinks they should start by playing a game. She wonders how since there is a missing pawn. He thinks maybe finding the pawn might be the actual goal. They ponder that notion and Chad believes they should be thinking like John rather than his father. What would it mean to John that a pawn is missing from the chess set. Belle wonders if there is another pawn out there in the world.

Later, Belle retrieves the chess set and the two get down to business. After a while, Belle needs to go to work. Chad offers to keep the chess set and the two engage in a kiss.

Xander Tries to Convince Philip to Forgive Gabi on Days of Our Lives

Xander is in his office at Titan yelling at someone when Johnny arrives on the scene. He brings up the lawsuit and Xander fully admits he set him up to fall. Johnny new he had been set up but wonders why Xander is admitting his bad behavior now. Xander doesn’t expect Johnny to forgive him which is why he is surprised when he does. Johnny believes him and says life is too short to get caught up in petty grievances before he exits.

Xander is sipping tea when Philip arrives back at the office. He assumes Xander has now confessed and his suspicions are confirmed. Xander admits it all felt very good as it all went well. The brothers review their own dodgy moves and Xander sort of suggests he forgive Gabi.

Philip thinks Xander only wants him to forgive and forget so he will accept Gabi’s money. Xander admits it would be a fringe benefit but is truly worried about his brother. They get back to the money and Philip says he isn’t sticking around if Xander intends on taking Gabi’s money. Just then, she arrives on cue.

Cat and Rafe Clash Over EJ!

Cat arrives at the Hernandez House and says EJ did a 180 on getting access to the miracle drug. Rafe inquires and Cat believes there is a problem with the drug. She tells him all about EJ’s freak out which makes them both immediately think of Lexie. They know they need to keep an eye on her. Rafe thinks EJ may be planning to put the drug out flaws and all. Cat hopes he wouldn’t do such a thing but must stop him if those are indeed his plans.

Rafe warns Cat, once again, about going rogue. She promises not to but wants him to help her do some digging. Cat’s instincts are telling her getting close to EJ will allow him to let his guard down.

Leo Blabs to Marlena About Gwen on Days of Our Lives

Leo meets up with Marlena for his therapy session. He would rather not discuss himself but a friend who is in all kinds of trouble. Marlena correctly guesses he is talking about Gwen and Leo confirms. They get into it and he lays out how Gwen is going toe to toe with EJ. Marlena worries for Leo as Gwen is feeding him information about EJ which could make him a liability.

Leo thinks putting himself in harm’s way isn’t such a big deal as no one would grieve for him if he went to the upper room. Marlena worries about him continuing to put himself in harm’s way and notes both she and Javi would be devastated if something happened to him.

They get into the Javi of it all and Leo tells her all about his perfect new boyfriend. He is trying to be happy for his ex-beloved as he deserves nice things. Marlena reminds Leo that he does, as well.

Later… Rafe tells her there isn’t a chance in hell he will support her plan. Cat pushes back saying he is not her boss. Rafe wants to go to Andrew to review her plan.

Leo thanks Marlena for her kind words but isn’t certain how much truth there is in them. She pushes back talking about the many selfless things he has done over the past few years and how he owned up to so many of his mistakes. He promises to work on how he views himself. However, if anything happens to him she has permission to point the finger at EJ.

EJ tells Theo he is not allowed to make unilateral decisions which impact the entire family. Theo reminds his uncle he is the executor of the will and can do what he pleases. EJ seethes when he learns Gabi has already been told she can have the money.

Gabi tells Xander and Philip she wants to invest in Titan. Her money will allow her a healthy share of stock and a seat on the board. When Titan recovers, she will reap the benefits. She turns to Philip and says the money is no longer a gift which should remove any doubt. He pushes back momentarily before they all shake on it.

Stephanie runs into her mama on her way to her first therapy appointment with Marlena. Kayla is thrilled she is following up. Stephanie is more concerned about her name staying out of the headlines as she doesn’t want to become her own PR nightmare.

Stephanie and Kayla talk a bit about EJ’s tenure at the hospital possibly being up. Stephanie inquires more and Kayla says it’s possible Gwen might take his place as she has already put up a bid to buy it out from underneath EJ.

Sarah and Holly are connecting at University Hospital discussing Maggie’s trip to be there for Melissa after surgery (I miss Maggie!). Sarah asks about her doctor’s appointment, and she says it went well and was prescribed an anti-depressant. They go back and forth about the new drug before they embrace (and menacing music plays).

Holly thanks Sarah for the keys to the cabin and Sarah hopes they have the best time. Before she can go, Sarah asks her niece not to drink as mixing alcohol with a new anti-depressant isn’t the best idea. Holly agrees and exits.

Kayla runs into Sarah at the nurses’ station and they catch up on Tripp’s wedding. Now that she’s back, Kayla gets into Destiny’s death to see how Sarah is doing. Kayla notes she did everything correctly but also hopes Sarah gets answers.

Stephanie connects with Brady who is looking for Sarah. Before they part ways, she says they can’t be shooting buddies anymore because she gave up her gun. Also, she spoke with Tate about starting self-defense lessons. Brady says they can be self-defense buddies and the two part ways (These two have more chemistry and wouldn’t be kissing cousins in the same way as Stephanie and Alex).

Kate Fills Alex in on The Dropped Lawsuit

Alex arrives at the Brady Pub and asks Kate if she’s seen Joy. She says she left out earlier to take Kelsey to the park and notes the insane story about the shooting. Kate wonders if the press has picked up on the story and notes there is no such thing as bad publicity. Maybe Titan could use a little boost from news of the mystery novelist who packs heat.

Alex shifts directions and mentions dropping the lawsuit. Kate says that wasn’t her choice and admits her role in taking down Roman’s grandson. Alex wonders what she was thinking but Kate says she was trying to save Titan. She says she will come clean with everyone and Xander will be telling Johnny everything. Alex is glad but says she’s made a dumpster fire of a mess but it’s the least of his problems.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Tipsy Mark Reveals a Little Too Much About EJ’s Lifesaving Drug

Marlena runs into Roman outside the Brady Pub. He is awaiting deliveries and doesn’t want to go in because of Kate. He has no clue where he and Kate go from here after she did what she did to Johnny. Marlena says she can’t exactly throw stones (recall Marlena and John on the office desk whilst she was married to Roman) but offers to support him in whatever way she can. With that, she exits.

The Brat Pack Arrives at The Horton Cabin on Days of Our Lives

Tate and Brady are in Horton Square discussing his trip to the cabin. He lies by omission about those who will be in attendance and is caught off guard when his daddy says to tell Holly hello (Why would Brady care that his grown ass son is heading to the cabin with his girlfriend?).

Brady doesn’t care as he already knew Sarah offered the cabin to Holly and Arianna. He understands why Sarah would be hesitant about the foursome going to the cabin, so he promises to not rat them out. He asks his son to steer clear of behavior that will kill them or land them in jail. Tate promises and exits.

Arianna and Aaron arrive at the Horton Cabin. She notes her times there as a child while Aaron frets over the lack of a television. He says he will watch things on his phone, but Arianna says cell coverage is sparse which ups Aaron’s anxiety. Arianna reminds him of their locale and all the activities in which they can engage. She pulls out a bottle of vodka and says, if nothing else, they can party.

Arianna and Aaron are imbibing as he talks about a girl with whom he recently tried to connect. Just then, Holly and Tate arrive. He immediately wants a drink, but Holly says she can’t partake because of her new meds (Uh-oh). Arianna tells Aaron she is SO happy he is there as she watches Holly and Tate makeout over his shoulder. Aaron tries to control his excitement by downing his drink.

Arianna and Aaron walk back in the room as Tate and Holly are, once again, kissing. She removes her shirt and says they should get down to the lake. Aaron, in a feets don’t fail me now way, removes his shirt as Holly and Tate follow suit. He thinks they are totally rolling Baywatch style and Arianna validates.

The foursome returns to the cabin and debriefs their failed game of Marco Polo. Tate suggests they play a little truth or dare, leading Arianna and Aaron to refresh their drinks.

Stephanie and Marlena Commence Therapy

Stephanie arrives in Marlena’s office for her first therapy appointment and says she is just awful. She knows she can’t be trusted with a firearm much less a functioning member of society. Marlena tries to calm her down but Stephanie says she is questioning every action she makes.

Stephanie thinks about how she has only been attracted to men who were bad for her and mentions Jeremy, Ford Decker and Everett, who was a nightmare for both her and Jada. She can’t understand why she keeps making such terrible choices.

Marlena says when a child is abandoned by a parent, for whatever reason, it can impact how they connect with the world. Stephanie relates her statement to her own childhood as Marlena continues to explain her trauma. Stephanie tears up as Marlena says she will make it through this difficult time.

Brady and Sarah Continue Their Investigation Into Destiny’s Death on Days of Our Lives

Brady meets up with Sarah at the Brady Pub and says Destiny’s bloodwork came back normal, except she and her sister had low levels of the same drug in their system. Brady wonders if the sister just got a bad batch of this particular drug. Sarah says she has reached out to medical examiners in the area to see if they’ve found any similar results in their autopsies.

Brady asks if he has been able to get in touch with Destiny’s parents. She has but they are in the dark. Sarah is hoping Liam might be able to shed some light on the situation. She asks if Brady had any luck and he reports he knows Liam and his son have moved in with his half-brother Charlie, which is only a few towns away. His investigation revealed Liam may have come into a great deal of money before his move and finds it all very suspicious.

Alex Asks Kayla For Advice

Alex walks up to the nurses’ station and says he has a huge dilemma about which he’s not ready to bring up with Stephanie. He mentions having talked Joy out of filing charges against Stephanie, but it came with conditions.

Kayla knows Stephanie would never hurt baby Kelsey but doesn’t blame Joy for being protective. Alex gets it but doesn’t know how to tell Stephanie. She is so sorry for the difficult position he is in, but Alex doesn’t see an easy way out or through. He asks for guidance just as Stephanie walks up. He asks about her session with Marlena, and they decide to debrief as they walk home.

Later… Kate runs into Marlena and Kayla at the nurses’ station. Kate thinks she and Marlena have some things to discuss and the two head off to her office.

Kate wonders if Marlena encouraged Roman to cry on her shoulder as he should have known better than to marry the likes of her. Marlena says they were only talking about the havoc Kate wreaked in their grandson’s life. Kate thinks Marlena is sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong, but she says she will be involved whenever and wherever her family is involved. Kate admits she did screw up but didn’t mean to do so. Marlena believes her and says she actually told Roman the two of them survive this mess.

Alex and Stephanie take a seat in Horton Square. She reviews her therapy session and notes how amazing Joy is being about everything. Alex corrects her false assumption and says he had to agree to keep his daughter from her in order to maintain his connection to her. Stephanie freaks but Alex is certain they will be able to make things right over a period of time.

Tate and Holly annoyingly make out as Aaron and Arianna decide to go kayaking.

Brady and Sarah consider how the drugs in Destiny’s and her sister’s systems were contaminated. He looks up the pharmaceutical distributors and notes one of the involved companies was DiMera pharmaceuticals.

During his chat with his fellow soap vets, Martsolf recalled how he got his start, balancing his love of music (Who knew he played trumpet in jazz band and sang in the choir?) with playing sports and later touring Pennsylvania with a band.

Of course, he discussed his late co-star and on-screen dad Drake Hogestyn (John, DAYS). The soap legend died in 2024 of pancreatic cancer, and the DAYS cast regularly participates in fundraisers to help find a cure for the disease.

Martsolf said:

My name may be up there, but you know, the show is only as good as as our team. That falls right into Drake Hogestyn, my dad, who I I just walked this weekend for the pancreatic cancer walk. I had many reasons to do. I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer. I lost Drake to pancreatic cancer. And fictitiously, I lost my TV mom to pancreatic cancer. Isabella Black [Staci Greason] died after giving birth to Brady Black.

Explaining his road to Passions and then DAYS, Martsolf went into what the zaniest storyline he ever dealt with on the supernatural sudser was. He reflected:

Just seeing walls, bleeding and, you know, little people coming to life and running around and oh, God. But there was Josh [Ryan Evans], who played Timmy, such a dedicated guy.

The Widow’s Guide to Dating on Days of Our Lives

Julie and Marlena are supposed to be engaged in a book club discussion. Marlena apologizes for being distracted but watching the muted Cubs game makes her feel closer to John. Just then, Chad and Belle appear on the kiss cam and go to town for all to see.

Julie is happy to see things progressing between Chad and Belle after Abigail’s death and the nasty business with Cat. Marlena defends her but Julie is thrilled to see Chad moving on from that catwoman. Marlena agrees Chad would be a welcome change for her daughter. They go on and on about how much it means they are on a date with the kids and their decision to publicly smooch.

Marlena thinks Chad and Belle are just beginning to see each other in a new light, just like Julie and Foster. Julie pushes back saying it’s not at all the same. She never thought she could look at another man after Doug. It was a comfort to be with Foster, but she felt guilty for dishonoring Doug’s memory. Marlena gets it but she hopes Julie can move past it as she knows Doug would want her to be happy.

Julie puts the question back to Marlena about moving on with another. Marlena says she hasn’t even considered it but Julie hopes she will as she wants happiness for her friend. Just then, Julie gets a call from Foster.

EJ and Cat Are Stunned to See Chad and Belle Kissing on Their TV Screen!

EJ and Cat are making out on his sofa when they also view Chad and Belle kissing in front of God and everyone. They are both understandably shocked but both say they all have every right to move on. EJ says he is focused on the future and returns to focusing on Cat’s lips. They get hot and heavy when EJ wants to take things upstairs, but Cat thinks they are moving a little fast. She is his employee and also thinks he is reacting to seeing Chad and Belle kissing. EJ pushes back about his brother and Belle but also understands they need to wait to hit the sheets until the time is right. EJ wants to chat more, but Cat says she has a family dinner and exits. Outside, she texts Mark to see if he wants to go to dinner and they agree to meet at Small Bar.

Mark Reveals More Than He Should About EJ’s Resurrection Drug

Cat arrives at Small Bar and connects with Mark. She asks if he is okay and wonders why there is no Aaron nor Felicity. He explains Felicity is out with friends, and Aaron is packing up for a trip to the Horton Cabin. When she asks about the trip, Mark gets snippy. She inquires and they take a seat.

Mark continues to sip his drink but says he doesn’t want to talk. Cat pushes and he says the job has become a bit more difficult lately. She asks if there is a problem about EJ’s drug and Mark says no. She mentions her EJ’s shift in attitude about giving their mother the drug. Mark orders another drink and says they can’t give the drug to any other human until they get FDA approval. Cat understands Mark signed an NDA but can’t believe he is willing to let their mother die without a fight.

Later, Mark returns from the bar with drinks for both of them. Cat mentions EJ’s drug and he says he doesn’t want that drug anywhere near their mother.

Chanel and Johnny Discuss The Impact of Chemo on Their Sex Life on Days of Our Lives

Chanel and Johnny are at home on their staycation. He is discussing the trip they will take after her treatment. Chanel can’t get into it and apologizes. She understands focusing on the future but simply can’t consider it right now as she is in her head about her upcoming treatment. He gets it and she feels so lucky to have someone like Johnny by her side. They get into a little makeout time and Johnny wants to take it to the bedroom.

Chanel halts the romance to discuss realities of what their sex life might look like during a and after treatment. Johnny admits he has thought about it but wanted to respect her boundaries and wait until she brought it up. No matter what happens nothing will change the way he feels about her. Johnny appreciates and loves everything about his beloved. He promises he will always be wildly attracted to her and the two kiss. Just then, Paulina arrives and demands Johnny call EJ.

Paulina apologizes for barging in but says she tried texting and calling but to no avail. They indicate their phones were on silent. Johnny checks and also notes a missed call from Xander (well played, writers). Chanel wonders why her mother wants to get in touch with EJ and Paulina says he refused to give her access to the miracle drug. Chanel pushes and Paulina says she wants it for her! She says the miracle drug cured Lexie’s brain tumor. If there’s a better way, why would Chanel want to go through all the side effects associated with chemotherapy.

Johnny never considered the drug could help Chanel and he and Paulina get into talking about it. Chanel stops them as she is actually in the room. She can’t believe they are talking about her like she isn’t there and also notes there is already a prescribed treatment she has agreed to. Chanel wants no part of EJ’s experimental drug as she will not be a guinea pig, especially when she is pregnant. Most of all, Chanel never wants to be indebted to EJ again.

Later, Chanel appreciates her mother’s concern but thinks she should have been consulted prior to her badgering EJ. She notes her cancer is treatable and wants to follow what her doctor recommends. Paulina apologizes and Chanel gets she is simply trying to help. With that, Paulina says she will see her at the hospital tomorrow and makes her exit (Where is Paulina living?).

Chad Agrees to Help Belle Investigate the Mystery of Stefano’s Chess Set

Chad, Belle, Thomas and Charlotte are doing a post-game debrief. They are all impressed Thomas caught a foul ball, as Belle earlier predicted. He credits his father’s date with giving her tips and Charlotte notes how cool it was to see her daddy and Belle on the big screen. Chad wonders who else saw them kissing but she says she doesn’t care.

Chad and Belle take a seat and discuss county fairs and stories of her childhood. They get into the chess set Stefano left her parents and just can’t let go of her belief there is a larger meaning. Chad wonders if Belle has tried to search the box for clues. She mentions the missing pawn, which certainly relates to her father, but she thinks there is more. Chad does know how his father’s mind works and agrees to help her figure things out.

Later, Chad asks Belle if he can give her a proper kiss and she is all for it. With that, they kiss outside the sight of millions of viewers.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Paulina Demands EJ Give Chanel Dr Rolf’s Lifesaving Treatment!

Julie and Marlena are in Horton Square after Foster called about the security system going on the fritz. Julie doesn’t really understand how the new system is already broken but Marlena thinks Foster called just so he could see her again. They are giggling a bit when EJ walks up, having purchased a book from Julie’s store. He indicates he wanted to buy a book to keep his mind off all that’s going on. With that, Julie exits.  

Marlena knows he saw Belle and Chad kissing on the big screen. She wonders about his date with Cat, and he admits they were kissing at the same time.

Marlena asks EJ if something is weighing on his mind. EJ confirms and says it is concerning Belle. Marlena wishes EJ and Cat well, especially with their yet to be solved Italian mystery. EJ thanks her and notes she also has a mystery to solve. Marlena knows he is talking about the chess board, but she doesn’t care and is ready to move on permanently from Stefano.

Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) are also at the Brady Pub doing some research on Destiny’s and her sister’s untimely demises. Brady looks up a drug (which one?) and says one of the distributors is DiMera Pharmaceuticals. Which drug? Who else will be impacted?

Holly (Ashley Puzemis), Tate (Leo Howard), Arianna (Vico Escorcia) and Aaron (Louis Tomeo) show up for their weekend at the Horton Cabin. In the midst of the fun and frivolity, Holly looks ill and passes out! Is the drug Sarah prescribed for her the same as which took out Destiny and her sister?

Xander arrives at DiMera to see Johnny but finds Theo in his chair. He says he is dropping it right now because of the Johnny of it all. Theo is shocked, I tell you shocked, Xander is admitting the lawsuit was a scam. That being said, the lawsuit is probably low on Johnny’s priority list but Theo refuses to reveal the details.

EJ and Xander Bicker Over Holly

EJ sees Holly crying in Horton Square. Holly says had a run-in with Mama Choi and it did not go well. EJ questions whether she has been harassing and/or threatening Holly, and she says both. EJ can’t believe Amy could be harassing anyone after what her daughter did to Johnny. EJ says he will take care of it and to leave Amy Choi to him and to let him know if anything else happens. Just then, Xander walks up, grabs EJ by the shoulder and demand he get away from Holly!

EJ scoffs at Xander saying he was trying to help his former stepdaughter. Holly gets all kinds of uncomfortable and makes a quick exit. Afterwards, the heated duo exchange barbs when Xander says he knows EJ was the one who told Gwen about him and Kristen. EJ chuckles and says if he doesn’t want folks like Gwen or Sarah finding out about his extracurriculars, maybe he should change his behavior. Xander growls a threat if EJ dare tell Sarah about his tryst with Kristen. Just then, EJ gets a text from Lexie asking to see him and makes his exit.

Chanel Decides to Move Forward With Chemotherapy on Days of Our Lives

Chanel and Johnny are at University Hospital telling Sarah about her appointment with the new and improved oncologist. Based on the visit, Chanel feels better about starting chemotherapy ASAP.

Johnny and Chanel thank Sarah for being in their corner. Chanel will be headed for surgery tomorrow to place the chemo port. Sarah promises to check in beforehand and assures Chanel, she’s got this before walking away. Johnny and Chanel embrace and agree to check in at home.

Chanel returns home to find Paulina folding baby clothes. She asks about her appointment, and Chanel says she has decided to move forward with chemotherapy. Chanel goes through the details, including inducing labor a few weeks early. Paulina wonders why her daughter looks so sick to her stomach and Chanel goes into the details of the side effects she will experience, including not being able to breast feed the new baby. As for Trey, she will have to steer clear of him at times because of the germs which may impact her immune system. Paulina assures her daughter plenty of women don’t breast feed and how Trey is too young to remember any of this. Chanel gets it but notes she will always remember.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Mama Choi Enlists Melinda to Sue Holly!

Gabi and Arianna are at the Hernandez House discussing her internship. Arianna says Johnny was showing her the ropes but now that he isn’t around as much, she’s been doing mostly menial tasks. Arianna makes mention of Great Grandma Kate asking her to do a little corporate spying which immediately grabs Gabi’s attention.

Gabi asks if her daughter has been feeding her great grandmother information, but Arianna says she is an intern and no one would tell her anything. Gabi tells her to keep her mouth shut and stay out of the Titan/DiMera fray. They decide to head to the pub for food when Gabi gets a text from Theo, who wants to meet up at DiMera.

Roman Is Livid When Kate Admits She Railroaded Johnny on Days of Our Lives

Kate runs into Roman outside the pub saying she needs to talk to him about something serious. She gets down to business and says she lied when she denied having anything to do with setting up Johnny. Roman can’t believe his ears, but Kate confirms she set his grandson up and is so sorry for her actions.

Kate explains she was desperate to save Titan and set him up to save the company. It was just business. Roman can’t believe Kate lied to him and made him feel guilty for questioning her word. He pushes asking why, after all these months, she is coming finally coming clean.

Kate says Xander has plans to tell Johnny the truth which forced her hand. She says she was trying to help both of them. Titan and Philip get a little back from what DiMera took from them, and Johnny gets booted out of his CEO position. Roman is DONE with Kate’s lies and walks away to get some space.

Theo Awards Gabi Stefan’s Share of The DiMera Inheritance

Johnny walks in to meet up with Theo at DiMera and updates him on Chanel’s cancer treatment. He thanks Theo who is happy to pitch in while he supports his wife. Johnny reminds Theo he will be returning and he totally gets it. Theo admits to not hating having been CEO and Johnny agrees they have a chance to turn things around and actually do some good in the world. Afterwards, Theo mentions Xander’s visit and says the lawsuit has been dropped.

Gabi arrives to see Theo, who gets down to business. He knows his aunts and uncles want to challenge Gabi’s claim to Stefan’s part of the DiMera inheritance. As executor of the will, Theo says he isn’t willing to fight and gives Gabi the money. She thanks him for his kindness but Theo says it was a decision based solely on evidence. One benefit for him is he won’t have to spend time with her in court. The less time he has to be with Gabi the better it is for him.

Sarah Gifts Holly and Arianna a Couple of Days at The Horton Cabin on Days of Our Lives

Holly arrives to at the Brady Pub to meet up with Sarah. She updates her aunt on her run-in with Mama Choi. Sarah is horrified but Holly says EJ is handling the situation. She fills Sarah in on her discussion with EJ and Xander’s subsequent arrival. Her story about Xander’s actions softens Sarah as she notes how much her former flame cares about Holly.

A knowing smile crosses Holly’s face as she notes how Sarah is now able to say a kind word about her ex-husband. Sarah admits living together has allowed her to be reacquainted with Xander’s humanity. She will always love him, but too much has happened for them to reunite yet again.

Arianna arrives and commiserates with Holly about their not so great summers. Sarah offers up a couple of days at the Horton cabin which immediately grabs the duo’s attention (Oh Lord, nothing good ever happens with random visits to the cabin). They decide to invite Tate and Aaron so everyone can take a much-needed break.

Roman walks into Horton Square and calls Marlena, saying he needs to talk and revealing she was right about Kate lying to him.

Kate runs into Xander and tells him all about his horrible conversation with Roman. Xander updates her on his visit with Theo and how he is still looking to apologize to Johnny. Kate is certain she will be doing a lot of apologizing but thinks the fallout of their actions is just beginning.

Lexie Informs EJ She May Only Have Weeks to Live!

EJ arrives home to find a distraught Lexie in the living room. She reports on Dr Rolf’s findings and how she might only have a few weeks to live. EJ says he won’t let Lexie die again (it’s always so strange to type such things). Lexie says Dr Rolf is giving her another dose of the drug but worries about being patient zero. EJ wonders if Abe knows and Lexie says they must keep everything quiet. Afterwards, Lexie begins to cry and EJ comforts his sister.

Johnny returns home and Paulina exits. Afterwards, he informs Chanel about the lawsuit being dropped. He is grateful because now he can step back from the company with Theo’s assistance.

Later… Paulina bursts into the DiMera mansion and demands EJ allow Chanel access to Versavix! He says he can’t help her, despite her trying to guilt him by talking about her sacrifice and the family implications. Afterwards, a distraught EJ storms out of the room.

Lexie walks into an empty house. She picks something up from the coffee table, her hands fail and the object falls to the ground. As she cleans up the glass, Theo walks in and she minimizes the incident. She notes her upset and asks if she is okay. Lexie says she is with her beautiful boy and his father. How could she not be okay. She wants to hold onto these precious moments for as long as she can live.

Gabi runs into Xander in Horton Square and tells him the good news about the inheritance. He thinks it’s a great day for them both but senses her hesitance. Xander reminds her that the money will keep him silent about her corporate espionage, but Gabi wants more. As she sashays away, Gabi says she will get back to him with a list.

As I say goodbye to Days of Our Lives, I’m excited and looking forward to the next chapter. Leaving DAYS is bittersweet, but I step away full of gratitude and joy for what’s ahead.

Holly and Tate are in Horton Square discussing Mama Choi wanting to charge her with manslaughter. He is thankful there isn’t enough evidence to take it to trial (at least not a criminal trial). They shift to talking about their jobs and internships and how they are both looking forward to continuing their journey.

Tate has signed a lease for his new business being a personal trainer and self-defense teacher. Holly joyfully says she wants to be his first client. They get all kinds of cute together before heading off.

Holly and Tate arrive at his new workspace and bat around names for his new business venture.

Mama Choi Enlists Melinda Trask to Sue Holly for Wrongful Death!

Mama Choi meets up with Melinda at Small Bar. Amy apologizes for not listening to Melinda those many months ago and asks what she can do with all her regret. She apologizes for breaking down and says she reached out because she remembered Melinda also lost her daughter.

Melinda recalls losing Hayley and how much anger accompanied her sadness and how much she blamed herself. Melinda tells Mama Choi not to drown in those emotions. Amy says she also reached out because she thinks there is something she actually can do to move forward.

Mama Choi wants to hire Melinda as a bulldog lawyer who won’t back down. Melinda notes there wasn’t enough to bring charges against Holly and relates it to her desire to get revenge against Kristen. She tells Amy revenge will not fill the hole in her heart left by Sophia’s “death.” Amy gets it but will never be able to accept Holly getting away with bullying her daughter so much that she felt like she had no other choice than to take her own life. She begs Melinda to help her fight for justice.

Mama Choi says she wants to file a civil lawsuit. The money is secondary and the goal is to make Holly admit in open court what she did to her daughter and vow never to do to anyone else what she did to Sophia.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Stephanie Takes a Shot at Joy!

Jada and Shawn are wandering through Horton Square when he brings up how maybe it’s time for him to go back home. She gets it but promises he hasn’t overstayed his welcome.

Joy Freaks Out After Stephanie Uses Her For Target Practice on Days of Our Lives

Joy knocks repeatedly and finally uses her key to enter Stephanie and Alex’ pad. Stephanie rouses from her drugged-up state, grabs her gun, turns and fires. The bullet misses Joy and both are in total shock. Alex arrives and Joy says his psycho wife tried to shoot her (Lucky for Jada and Shawn they weren’t home as the bullet probably crossed into their apartment).

Alex picks up the gun and asks Joy if she’s okay. Stephanie says she was asleep and heard the door opening. She thought someone was breaking in but Joy can’t hear her. She points to the bullet hole in the wall placed oh so close to where she was once standing.

Jada and Shawn return home and see a bullet on the ground and an exit hole outside Alex and Stephanie’s place. They head in and begin working the scene. Jada takes Stephanie in the bedroom whilst Shawn stays put to get Joy’s statement, with Alex in tow.

Joy gives her account, but Alex tries to downplay the situation saying Stephanie was jet-lagged, took a sleeping pill and was disoriented. Joy gets in his face saying it doesn’t matter. Further, what if Kelsey had been with her? She notes how she and/or their daughter could have died! Joy wants to leave and reluctantly agrees to let Alex give her a ride, but only if he doesn’t speak a word in the car.

Stephanie and Joy are in the bedroom. . Stephanie can’t believe she made such a horrible mistake. Jada says it wasn’t a mistake but very close to being a horrible tragedy. She gets on Stephanie for not properly storing the gun away from the ammunition, which would have given her the time to realize it was Joy coming through the door. Stephanie explains not feeling safe and wanting access to the loaded gun to protect herself. She bursts into tears and wonders what is going to happen to her now.

Jada says she isn’t arresting Stephanie right now. She says there will need to be an investigation into whether or not the discharge was accidental. Stephanie says it wasn’t, but Jada stops her and warns her to think carefully about what she says next. Stephanie shifts her story and says everything is a little fuzzy. She is relieved to know Jada will be taking the gun with her as she worries she is losing her mind.

Gwen Fills Leo in on the Xander and Kristen of It All

Leo is sitting with baby Kelsey at the Brady Pub. He talks to the baby about Javi and his new beau. Just then, a distressed Gwen walks up. He introduces her to the wee baby Kelsey and says what great company she makes when not screaming.

Gwen takes a seat and tells Leo a little bit about EJ getting in her head. He presses and she explains about the Xander and Kristen of it all. Leo is intrigued but Gwen says it’s not true, at least she thinks so…

Gwen thinks EJ was trying to get under her skin by lying to her about Xander and Kristen. Leo pokes all kinds of holes in her story leaving Gwen marinating in doubt. She says Kristen is her friend and Xander is her… lover. Leo knows it would hurt if they were hooking up. Gwen goes full Gwen and says, if it were true, she would rip their eyes out and feed them to the birds. After some friendly bonding with Leo and baby Kelsey, she exits.

Gwen arrives at Tate’s new studio and clearly interrupts the end of Tate and Holly’s, ummmm, session… A little awkwardness ensues before Gwen says she wants to sign up for self-defense classes. Holly exits and Tate and Gwen get started. He asks her goals and she says to make sure EJ DiMera doesn’t murder her.

Later… Alex and Joy arrive at the Brady Pub. She runs to Kelsey and tells a shocked Leo the story about Stephanie using her for target practice! Leo asks a bunch of questions and Alex tells him not to even consider printing the story. Joy knows Alex wants her to forget what just happened, but she needs time and he agrees. After Alex leaves, Joy tells Leo she doesn’t want Stephanie near her or Kelsey ever again.

Alex returns home allowing Shawn and Jada to head across the hall. Stephanie says how sorry she is but Alex thinks she needs to lie down and get some rest. He crawls into bed with his beloved and pulls her close.

Holly runs into Mama Choi who warns her, though criminal charges will not be filed, she is NOT done with her!

Gwen is outside the Brady Pub when she receives a text from Dimitri. He hopes she is enjoying spending his money as he is closing in on the truth about her kidnapping him and holding him hostage in Alamania.

Leo and Joy reconnect at the Brady Pub, having not seen each other since the Body & Soul wrap party. They talk about Kelsey and he congratulates her and Alex. She would love to stay and chat but must exit to buy a little stuffed animal.

Gwen walks in the pub and is all but attacked by Leo who is thrilled his former bestie is still alive. Their conversation about EJ’s closet of skeletons had him worried about her untimely demise. He grows even more concern when he learns of Gwen’s plan to buy University Hospital out from under EJ.

Gwen says EJ has potentially sealed his own fate and she is simply taking advantage of the situation to inflict a little dose of revenge. Gwen gets it but wonders what in the world she knows about running a hospital. She says she doesn’t need to know anything medical as the Bradys and Hortons will run it. Leo gets it and knows Gwen is trying to be a savior to impress Jack. She doesn’t deny it but says she will do better by all the employees. Leo notes something else bothering her and she tells him about Dimitri’s texts. She gets nervous when the conversation shifts to whether or not she kidnapped Dimitri and Gwen quickly makes her exit.

Alex Gives Joy a Key, Much to Stephanie’s Chagrin

A shirtless Alex returns from his run and is thrilled to find Stephanie home. She catches him up on Tripp and Wendy’s wedding and how amazing all of it was. They say they missed each other and Alex shows Stephanie just how happy he is to have his wife home. Before they can really get going, Joy and Kelsey come a-callin.

Joy apologizes for stopping by without calling, she tried but Alex’ phone sent her to voicemail, but Kelsey is inconsolable without her favorite stuffy. Stephanie pulls it out and young Kelsey immediately quiets down. Alex is kind of kidding and says maybe Joy should have a key in case something like this happens again. Joy takes the offer seriously and agrees. Alex has no choice but to look at Stephanie who reluctantly agrees. The whole room becomes awkwardly tense before Alex gives Joy a key and she and Kelsey exit. Afterwards, Stephanie pretends her jet lag has taken over but Alex is wise to her deception.

Stephanie insists she is really tired as there was a crying baby on the plane the entire time. Alex cracks an inappropriate joke and quickly apologizes. Stephanie moves forward and asks about his first full visit with the baby and afterwards says she would like to host the next visit, but without Joy.

Joy returns to the Brady Pub and reconnects with Leo. She realizes she left her phone at Stephanie and Alex’ (Oh Lord) place. Leo offers to watch the baby and Joy heads back to retrieve her phone.

EJ Tussles With Gabi Over The Girl Code on Days of Our Lives

Gabi and EJ are in Horton Square when they both spot Xander canoodling with Kristen outside the Salem Inn. She turns back to stare at EJ and quickly move themselves out of the line of sight. Gabi wonders if Gwen has any idea that slime ball is cheating on her.

EJ wonders how it’s possible for Xander to be cheating on Gwen when he was under the impression they were having a stringless fling. They both grimace when EJ says he knows more than he would like as their doings were flaunted in plain sight at the mansion all too often. Gabi notes Kristen and Gwen are friends and it’s a violation of the girl code. EJ thinks it’s her duty to inform Gwen of this heinous betrayal.

EJ gets a call from a hospital board member relaying the entire board’s upset about his sketchy medical research. EJ reminds them about his having saved the hospital before they wish each other good day. Just then, Gwen walks up as EJ calls the person a bitch. They get into the hospital purchasing of it all and EJ reminds her they were once allies who are still in the resurrection business together. Their partnership leads Gwen to tell him about Dimitri who is actively gathering evidence about his kidnapping.

Gabi says she will in no way be responsible for causing a rift between Gwen and Kristen – not her monkeys, not her circus. EJ pushes as a new conflict would get Gwen off his back. Gabi doesn’t care. She knows Gwen will figure it out eventually and predicts all hell will break loose (These two have great chemistry). After she exits, EJ wonders if he should throw himself into the girl code fray.

Kristen and Xander Bond Over Their Children

Kristen and Xander are not even close to getting down to business when his elbow halts the production. Kristen does her best to encourage him, but Xander says it’s too dangerous, especially the way they go at it. She won’t take no for an answer and promises to do all the heavy lifting.

After finishing a tame round, Xander says Kristen has ruined him for other mere mortals and she admits her moves are legendary. He wishes he could also leave her breathless but wants to someday be able to pick up his little girl. Kristen gets it as both of them make their children their priority.

Xander brings up switching Rachel and MacKenzie at birth and how abominable his actions were. Kristen more than agrees and he says he knows now how horrible she must have felt during that ordeal and now. Kristen talks a bit about Rachel before Xander asks why she can’t just check her out against medical advice.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: EJ and Gabi Catch Kristen Canoodling With Xander

Gabi runs into Javi in Horton Square with Little T in tow. He keeps offering to babysit and they finally took him up on his offer. They talk a bit about the old times when he and Leo were his parents and Gabi is certain Little T has some memories. Javi admits being with Little T brings back both happy and sad memories for him. They chat a bit more when Gabi spots Gwen and sighs in despair.

EJ Tips Gwen Off About Kristen and Xander

Gwen and EJ go back and forth about their crimes. EJ says Gwen lacks foresight and mentions Xander who is currently having a torrid affair with Kristen. Gwen doesn’t believe him but EJ says she can catch them in the act right now and nods over to the Salem Inn. With that, she heads over (is she going to knock on every door?).

Xander and Kristen continue their conversation about Rachel when Gwen comes a-bangin! A very pleasant Kristen opens the door and invites Gwen in. A very pleasant Xander is sitting in the corner and bids his other fling a lovely hello. Gwen inquires and Kristen says with the lawsuit issues between Titan and DiMera, they thought it best to meet undercover. Gwen says EJ clued her in on the possible tryst. Kristen thinks it’s so typical of EJ to slut shame her whilst trying to get one over on Gwen.

Gwen apologizes for interrupting their meeting and makes a quick exit. Kristen and Xander are relieved. She notes how aside from Lani, Gwen is her only friend. That one relationship was almost blown because of EJ!

EJ and Gabi go back and forth about him telling Gwen the truth about Kristen and Xander. They get to talking about breakups and EJ offers to let her move back in the mansion where he could help her forget all about Philip. Gabi is seemingly disgusted and calls EJ a dog. He responds, “woof woof!”

Later… Javi walks into the pub with Little T and spies Leo with Kelsey. Javi is a wee confused when Leo says Kelsey is Alex and Joy’s unexpected baby. Leo says Kelsey and Little T should remember each other so in 20 or 30 years they can get married in Horton Square. Leo says he and Javi could say they introduced them back in the day. He quickly catches himself as he knows there is no “they.” Javi turns to Little T and gets unnecessarily cruel by saying who he really wants him to meet is Gus.

Stephanie takes some pills (sleeping?) and Alex heads out to grab dinner. She lies down on the sofa and shuts her eyes. After a while, Joy arrives and knocks over and over and over again. A drugged-up Stephanie rouses and has trouble orienting herself. Joy uses her key to enter the apartment when Stephanie awakens, grabs the gun and fires!

Brady Agrees to Help Sarah Investigate Destiny

Brady and Sarah meet up outside the Brady Pub where she asks him to help her solve a medical mystery. He agrees and Sarah tells him about Destiny’s death and how she missed something in her diagnosis. He asks why she didn’t call him and she lies saying she was wiped out.

Brady asks how he can help. Sarah says Destiny had an older sister who also died young for indeterminate reasons. She knows they both had addiction issues, but something doesn’t feel right.

Brady says he will start pulling police records on Destiny and her sister. He acknowledges Sarah’s gut feeling about the situation and says his dad always told him to follow that instinct.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Sarah Dreams of Xander and Brady

Kate is in the Brady Pub texting Xander, begging him not to tell Johnny about their deceit. Roman walks up and she lies about what she is doing, which leads him to notice she is tense. Kate lies again and says she’s been thinking about Abe and Paulina. Afterwards, Roman heads off to pick up a delivery.

Gabi and Arianna are sitting in the pub talking about Johnny imminent departure from DiMera. Gabi says she was offered the CEO position but turned it down. She makes mention of Philip and says it’s best to leave well enough alone. Kate is listening in and says it’s one thing they can agree on.

Kate and Gabi get snippy. Gabi doesn’t want a lecture, and Kate calls her a backstabbing bitch. Arianna thinks they should take it outside. Gabi admits she put her career above her morals and the man she loves. She would do anything to fix it but it’s too late. Kate softens and says Gabi has made her realize she needs to fix something before it’s too late.

Arianna asks if her mother ever found out why Theo betrayed her. Gabi says he didn’t, but she has now tanked that relationship because she took off his head. She advises her daughter, when you hurt people, you must own up to it and apologize. That being said, she still hasn’t mastered how not to hurt people in the first place. After a while longer, Gabi gets a notification about a meeting and makes her exit.

Arianna Agrees to be Kate’s Corporate Spy on Days of Our Lives

Arianna gets up for more coffee and overhears Sarah and Brady discussing Destiny’s medical mystery. She mentions Liam was Destiny’s emergency contact. Brady remembers his connection to the DiMera kidnappings and Sarah says her family has a loose connection as Liam has a half-brothers named Charlie who’s father Pete was married to her sister, Melissa (Hmmmm… half-brother. Okay, so his mother is Ivy Selejko from back in the day. I wonder if Liam’s father might be Mike Horton as they had an affair at some point in time). Arianna continues to listen as Sarah notes Liam has left town unexpectedly and asks Brady to add it to his list of tasks.

Arianna approaches the table and engages about Liam. She asks if he is in trouble, but Sarah thinks he can help her with something. Sarah asks Arianna to let her know if she hears from him before she heads back to her table.

Philip Threatens to Quit Titan If Xander Takes Gabi’s Money!

Xander arrives at Titan and tears into Philip for turning down Gabi’s offer of part of her inheritance. Philip says he won’t be taking anything from her, but Xander says they damn well better. He says he isn’t happy with Gabi either and suggests he think of the money as DiMera money. Philip owns up saying the DiMeras nor Gabi are responsible for tanking Titan, it’s him. Philip knows it shouldn’t be his decision whether or not to take Gabi’s money, but if Xander accepts it, he will quit. Just then, Kate saunters in and is stunned to learn Philip is threatening to quit.

Xander fills in Kate and she admits she would also like to wring Gabi’s neck. However, the only thing that matters now is saving Titan and Victor’s legacy. Philip tries to push back, but Kate yells at him reminding her ungrateful son how many people have put their personal and professional reputations on the line to keep him out of prison.

Kate turns her attention to Xander and tells her son how they set up Johnny to allow for a lawsuit against DiMera to try and recoup some lost funds. She looks at Xander and asks why he would now want to drop a nuclear bomb on Titan and her personal life after all the work they’ve done.

Kate asks why in the world he has suddenly found a conscience. Xander explains about therapy and how he’s trying to change his patterns but will do his best to keep her name out of it. Kate wonders how he is going to keep her name clean and Xander pushes her to tell Roman the truth. Kate can’t believe her life and Titan are going to implode because Xander is doing homework for his shrink who happens to be her husband’s ex-wife and Johnny grandmother! Kate explodes and storms out!

Later, Philip returns and assumes things did not go well with his mother. Xander says they have to drop the lawsuit which means they have to take Gabi’s money. Philip wants to clean out his desk, but Xander tells him to chill for now.

Dr Rolf Worries About Lexie’s Neurological Symptoms

Dr Rolf is in the sketchy lab when EJ confronts him about the dead rat. The good doctor says the unfortunate death is possibly connected to Versavix. EJ inquires and the good doctor says the rat and now another are seeing disintegrating neural pathways… and Lexie could be next.

EJ asks if Lexie could die. Dr Rolf says he will work day and night to make sure that doesn’t happen. He is working on the surviving rat and wants EJ to deliver Lexie to him for a complete examination.

Lexie arrives at the DiMera mansion and embraces Kristen. Lexie says she’s been using Theo’s tablet to read newspaper articles to try and catch up. She mentions EJ’s shooting and Peter’s involvement in the kidnappings. Lexie wonders if her sister is plotting her next move and Kristen says there is no doubt.

Kristen and Lexie chat a bit about EJ’s ownership of the hospital and how he might be removed because of his medical research. Kristen tells her not to feel too badly for their brother as he is clearly getting his pockets lined with the production of the drug which resurrected Lexie. Just then, EJ emerges from the tunnels, and Kristen takes the opportunity to get gone. Afterwards, Lexie notes her tremor and says she thinks something is wrong. She goes on to explain her dizzy spell and EJ says Dr Rolf has been wanting to examine her.

Lexie is being examined by Dr Rolf when he realizes her grip strength is very weak. She notes her symptoms and wonders if they are looking at something neurological. Dr Rolf’s silence speaks volumes… Dr Rolf notes she is the first human subject for his new drug. He says the resurrected rats are starting to show signs of neurological degeneration. Lexie puts two and two together to realize she could be headed in the same direction. She asks Dr Rolf to help her and he asks how big a chance she is willing to take. Lexie says she will do anything as she is not prepared to give up the precious gift of life given to her by the good doctor.

EJ runs into Gabi in Horton Square and they go back and forth about Stefan’s inheritance. EJ tries and fails to get Gabi to drop her case. They get quite snippy and Gabi walks away. Before she can full exit, both she and EJ spot Kristen and Xander getting very cozy outside the Salem Inn.

Later, Kate walks into the pub looking for Roman. Arianna asks if she was able to fix the thing she mentioned earlier. Great Grandma Kate takes a seat and asks her to keep her ear to the ground at DiMera and feed her information she thinks might be helpful. Arianna agrees to be her corporate spy.

Julie is at the Horton house in a lovely outfit when she opens the door to find Foster with flowers. She tosses them down and notes they are both nervous about their date.

Rafe Refuses to Help Arianna Find Liam

Gabi, Rafe and Arianna are at Small Bar celebrating the youngest Hernandez’ birthday. They move along to discuss Arianna’s next birthday celebration and how she hopes Javi brings Gus, whom she loves as anyone is better than Leo Stark. All of a sudden, Gabi says she has to go for a last-minute meeting. She promises to be back before the food arrives and Arianna says she’s good to go.

Arianna asks Rafe if he knows with whom her mother is meeting. Arianna says it’s Xander and wonders about her motivation. They switch topics to Liam and Rafe says her mother is just worried about her and knows he is bad news. Gabi just wants a chance to say goodbye. She asks Rafe to help her get closure, but Rafe says no dice. Arianna is all good as she intends to find him herself.

Julie and Foster Test The Dating Waters on Days of Our Lives

Julie and Foster arrive at Small Bar for their date. Foster says the bar does the best dirty martinis and jalapeño poppers. She takes a bite and immediately chokes up. They awkwardly move forward to the topic of literature. Julie mentions One Stormy Night and Foster describes it as elegantly trashy. They move along to spy novels and discover a few things in common.

Foster suggests they go to karaoke one night, but Julie says she isn’t a singer as that was Doug’s job in the family. He suggests trivia, if she would like to spend another evening together. Julie believes trivia at the Brady Pub will be just lovely.

Later, Foster escorts Julie home and kisses her on the cheek. When she enters the house, Julie sees a picture of Doug and tears up as she asks her beloved if he likes Foster.

Sarah Dreams of Xander and Brady

Xander arrives in the Kiriakis living room and reports to Sarah how Victoria has gone to sleep. They immediately get back into the dead Destiny of it all and Sarah thinks her bad decision cost the young woman her life.

Sarah says she spoke to Destiny’s family and had to explain why she let their loved one walk out of the hospital moments before she collapsed. Xander swoops in and says she did her job and notes how many lives she’s actually saved. Sarah admits how much death she is around on the daily and how she never processes how much it impacts her. Xander admits Destiny’s sudden death really impacted him, as well.

Xander offers to make Sarah some tea to calm her nerves, and she thanks him for being so kind, but she thinks she simply needs sleep. Xander relents as he simply wants his former/future beloved to feel better. With that, Sarah heads upstairs leaving Xander to be pathetic…

Sarah is upstairs asleep when Xander arrives at her side and says he has decided to stay at the mansion permanently. He says Sarah and Victoria are his whole world and she says it would be great for Victoria. He asks how she feels and Sarah admits she feels the same. Xander is thrilled and says she is the love of his life. They get into kissing hot and heavy when Sarah wonders how all of this is happening. She suddenly realizes she is dreaming and Xander confirms…

Xander continues to woo Sarah when Brady arrives at the bedroom door. He questions whether they’ve been hooking up this entire time. Sarah notes none of this is real. Brady counters in dreams she would rather hook up with Xander. Sarah says being with Brady is easy which makes Xander wonder what the problem is. They go back and forth when both dream Brady and Xander demand of her a choice. Just then, she awakens.

Marlena, Belle and Brady Celebrate John on Days of Our Lives

Kate and Marlena connect at the Brady Pub. She says she is meeting Belle and Brady and Kate realizes it’s to commemorate John’s death and says she thinks of him often. Marlena wonders if that’s true has John would be truly appalled by how her actions have impacted his grandson. Kate says it’s time they talk truth.

Belle and Brady are outside the pub, and she wonders if they really aren’t going to mention the missing pawn from the chess set. Brady confirms saying it was probably just lost in transit (and he considers himself the next John Black of the PI world?). Belle isn’t so naïve and says it’s clear Stefano was trying to send a message and notes he wrote the will before their father’s passing.

Kate hates the fact the plagiarism lawsuit is coming between them as she thinks keeping Basic Black afloat is something John would want. Marlena flashes back to her last session with Xander where she said Kate’s wellbeing isn’t her concern. In real-time, Marlena says she doesn’t want to engage and Kate heads off to grab menus.

Belle and Brady walk in, and they all talk about how the pub was John’s favorite place. Belle remembers when she was a kid and John allowed her to sit on the bar. Brady mentions how he used to talk to his father about girls in the pub. They all get teary-eyed as they toast to John.

Belle asks her mother about going to her father’s grave. She says she got a bit of a sign and tells Belle and Brady about the coin. She thinks it was a message from John telling all of them he will always be around to support them.

Belle thanks Marlena for telling them the story of the coin she found at her father’s grave… which sparks a memory. She wonders if her mother ever figured out the anonymous sender of the lilacs and her father’s funeral (I’d forgotten about them). Brady changes the subject and asks Belle if she’s told Marlena about her upcoming family date with Chad to go to the ballgame.

Belle and Brady head outside while Marlena says goodbye to Roman. They chat a bit about John and how he always warmed up a room. They embrace as Kate watches from across the bar.

Outside, Belle mentions the coin to Brady. He knows where she is going and tells her to stop. She continues putting together the coin with the missing pawn and wonders if their father is actually still alive… Brady note the chess set was willed to Marlena even before their father died. Belle gets it but says their father has cheated death before. He drops the bomb that Shane did a DNA test on John’s remains through the ISA and confirmed it was him. Just then, Marlena walks out and they make their way home.

Later, Kate tells Roman she loves him and he says she is stuck with him. He heads to the kitchen and Kate listens to a voicemail from Xander where he reveals they are dropping the plagirism lawsuit and he is coming clean about setting up Johnny.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Gwen Gives Leo The Keys to EJ’s Closet of Skeletons

Gabi meets up with Xander in Horton square. She wants to get into business as he is the one who called her there. He asks about the money she promised Titan, but Gabi says Philip turned him down, saying he doesn’t want a penny.

Xander is LIVID and says he is happy to accept the money, but Gabi says the offer is non-transferable. The only reason she cares about Titan is because of Philip. Xander wonders if she cares about her freedom and reputation and then proceeds to blackmail her into giving Titan a part of her inheritance. If she doesn’t, he will turn her in for corporate espionage which could land her in prison and will wreck her business. With that, he sashays away.

Gabi returns to Small Bar and shares a smile with Julie across the room, which triggers Arianna’s curiosity. They question her when she sits but Gabi says she was smiling but certainly not at Julie. Rafe digs at her about Xander as they could see her talking to him through the window. She gets snippy when she lies saying she was going over her Gabi Chic contract with Titan.

Later, Sarah walks in the living room with a cup of tea when Xander arrives home. She tells him Destiny’s autopsy (it’s already done?) was inconclusive. When she went through her records, she saw her emergency contact was Liam Saleko (interesting). Sarah wonders if he could tell her more about Destiny and her sister’s death. Afterwards, the duo has a sweet moment, and Sarah remains downstairs alone with her thoughts. She texts Brady and asks him to help her solve a mystery.

Lexie, Abe and Theo Do Their Best to Enjoy Family Time

Lexie, Abe and Theo are enjoying dessert together after Theo’s big meal. Theo wants to head out but Lexie tells him to sit his butt down for more family time. She has some questions for her boys after being gone for a decade and a half. She asks specifically about the most recent DiMera kidnappings and Abe says it was awful, but all worked out. She says she read her son was named CEO of DiMera. Theo tries to back peddle until Lexie says she was proud of the accomplishment.

Lexie always knew her son would do great things. Theo says he stepped down because he just knew his mother would hate his position. Lexie is stunned as she would never be anything but proud of her son. She notes the DiMera name always carried so much baggage but always wanted the name and the company to mean so much more and better. She is certain her baby boy is the very person to make that happen. Lexie doubles down saying she wants him to go back. Abe steps up and says he is opposed. Lexie thinks their son is a grown ass man who is capable of making his own decisions.

Theo returns and Abe pulls out a board game. They discuss how much fun they used to have, and Abe thinks he should pull them out of storage for his grandchildren. Lexie immediately corrects him saying they are Paulina’s grandchildren. Abe notes Lani is his daughter and Theo’s sister. Lexie apologizes for getting it wrong and notes how much she has missed.

Later, Theo heads to bed and Lexie and Abe get very awkward about the sleeping arrangements. When she is left alone in the living room, Lexie looks at a picture of Abe and Paulina with a very pained expression.

Gwen Gives Leo The Keys to EJ’s Closet of Skeletons on Days of Our Lives

Leo is alone at the Salem Inn when Gwen arrives for a drink. She takes note of the boring story he is working on, and she says she may have a story of more interest, but hopes he never has to print it. He inquires and she says it’s about her and EJ. Gwen thinks the story c could be his golden egg. He can only crack the story open once she’s dead and gone.

Leo asks for details, but Gwen says all he needs to know is EJ double-crossed her. If something happens to her, she wants Leo’s guarantee he won’t let EJ get away with it.

Gwen says she has a sealed letter with her lawyer detailing all of EJ’s crimes which will only be handed over to him after her passing. Leo asks why she is trusting him, and she admits her trust is still rebuilding but he is also the best friend she’s ever had. Leo is concerned about the mention of Gwen’s death. She is his chaos twin, and he says no story is worth telling if it means losing her.

Gwen doesn’t plan to die but getting in bed with EJ, figuratively speaking, puts her in mortal danger. She notes the danger he is in and Leo admits he thought EJ would whack him off a couple of times… figuratively speaking (Ha!). They both he never has to write her story.

Paulina and Gwen Challenge EJ!

EJ is alone in the DiMera living room when Gwen arrives having answered his summons. EJ is furious as he now knows Gwen went to the board and offered to buy the hospital out from under him. Gwen says he stabbed her in the back and now is returning his knife! She notes if he tries to settle the score with her permanently, the skeletons in his closet will be completely exposed.

Later, Dr Rolf emerges from the tunnels and asks if everything is okay. EJ says nothing is close to okay.

EJ arrives in the tunnels to meet up with Dr Rolf. He says there is a slight possibility they have a problem. He says he consulted with Mark who said one of the rats treated with Versavix has met an untimely end. EJ inquires but Dr Rolf isn’t certain of the drugs interaction with the rat’s naturally short lifespan. EJ wants to know what all this means for Lexie.

Dr Rolf says he doesn’t think EJ has anything to worry about but does want to examine Lexie himself. He promises to keep his boss in the loop and doesn’t expect any other problems… but neither seem certain.

EJ emerges from the tunnels to find Paulina sitting in his living room. They throw barbs back and forth until she says she is trying to get him tossed from the hospital.

Sarah and Xander Connect Over a Tragic Death on Days of Our Lives

Sarah and Xander are in Horton Square when they encounter a fainting Destiny. Sarah can’t find a pulse and Xander calls 911. Just then, JJ and Javi arrive asking if they can help. With that, they jump into action. The ambulance arrives and they get Destiny to University Hospital.

At University Hospital, Sarah tells Javi, JJ and Xander that Destiny expired. She is devastated and JJ notes how he’s dealt with Destiny many times in the past. Later, Sarah and Xander check in with each other. He admits he’s never been that close to someone dying and has so much respect for what she does after watching her work overtime to save her life. Sarah blames herself for letting Destiny leave the hospital.

Xander notes how many people are alive today because of her medical expertise. Sarah thanks him for the pep talk but still feels like a failure. Xander asks when her shift ends and she says it already is. He thinks they should head home and spend some time with their little girl (swoon!).

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Chanel Reads Her Oncologist For Filth!

Leo walks into Horton Square and runs into Javi and JJ. He notes he doesn’t know JJ well, but Chadwick speaks of him fondly and often. Leo congratulates JJ on his career change. Javi says he’s shadowing him and is joining Gus as the newest members of the fire department.

Later, JJ heads off to avoid the tension and Javi confirms Gus is permanently moving to Salem. Leo says he hopes everything works out and leaves Javi in his dust.

Outside, Gwen texts Xander…

At the Kiriakis mansion, Xander ignores Gwen’s text when Sarah brings Victoria down to say goodnight to her daddy. Victoria asks if they can work together to build a castle for her doll. Some time later, the castle is finished and Xander reads Gwen’s text asking him to come over and celebrate good news. He texts back “Sorry. Busy.” and gets back to family time with his girls.

Marlena is at University Hospital staring at John’s coin when Johnny and Chanel walk up. She quickly heads off to the restroom and Marlena wonders what’s happening. Johnny tells her about the breast cancer and how they are meeting with an oncologist from Chicago. Marlena is aghast and offers any support they will accept.

Chanel Reads Her Oncologist For His Implicit Bias.

Chanel returns and Johnny says he told his grandmother about her diagnosis and how she offered her support. They move forward to say it’s time to head to their official appointment.

Chanel and Johnny meet up with the oncologist who immediately treats her like a number and not a person. The doctor apologizes and she admits she is on edge. He continues very quickly talking all kinds of medical speak and asks if she has any questions. Chanel stops the doctor and says she has all kinds of questions. The doctor is clearly annoyed as Chanel goes on and on about her cancer with pregnancy in the mix and the intersection of race. The doctor assumes she is accusing him of offering a lower quality of care because she is black. Chanel RIGHTFULLY notes implicit bias is a real thing and women of color have much larger mortality rates. The doctor becomes horrible and Johnny steps in to say they both simply want him to pay her mind. The doctor continues to be a doctor, and Chanel says she is unwilling to be yet another statistic.

Later, the doctor doesn’t listen at all and tells Chanel to stop reading mommy blogs and call his office to start chemo.

Marlena Gets Unethical to Push Xander to Clear Johnny on Days of Our LIves

Marlena is in her office when Xander comes because he’s been summoned. She talks to him about the lawsuit and says she is going to stop working with him in therapy unless Titan drops the suit against Johnny and DiMera (which is a huge ethical issue… but okay). Xander questions her and Marlena says he must take responsibility for his actions. She says the issues with Johnny are different and must be taken care of… (Again, such an unethical move). Marlena agrees there are all kinds of things she can’t do, but what she can do is stop treating him, period and end of story (Again…). She says she is giving him the chance to do the “right thing” he keeps saying he wants to do.

Xander thinks Marlena is committing extortion, but she says all therapists would do the same (again…). They go back and forth for a bit and Xander notes “doing the right thing” would put Kate on the wrong side of Roman. Marlena says it’s not her concern…

Kate Mentors Joy About Out of Wedlock Children

Joy is at the Brady Pub when Kate walks in and takes a seat. They talk about Kelsey and how she is unnerved about leaving her alone with her for the first time. Kate asks about Stephanie and Joy says she’s sure she knows how to change diapers but isn’t disappointed she is currently across the world at her brother’s wedding. Kate inquires and Joy says she doesn’t know how maternal Stephanie will feel about her child as she simply wishes she didn’t exist.

Kate notes Stephanie has a lot going on and it’s understandable she is possibly having a hard time with the current situation. Joy gets it but still feels like she is destined to be the bad person. Kate says she can relate and tells her a little nugget about her history of having a baby with a married man.

Roman tells Kate he owes her an apology. He says he should have trusted her and believes what she said about not setting up Johnny. Kate gets a wee weepy and thanks her husband for trusting her…

Alex walks into the Kiriakis mansion to allow his father to meet his granddaughter. Justin inquires about Alex’ parental experience and he says it’s a tough gig. Just then, Bonnie runs in and just can’t stand how cute Kelsey is. Bonnie loves all the baby talk but wants to chat about the lawsuit and her book.

Bonnie says she never intended to plagiarize and is willing to pull back. She says it was heartbreaking and humiliating to see her books ripped off the shelves. Justin thought he had some pull in the situation as Xander won’t budge. Alex promises to try but gives her no guarantees.

Roman approaches Kate and Joy at the Brady Pub and asks if he can get either of them anything. Kate says no and Roman walks away. Joy inquires and Kate admits things are not okay. He returns and asks Joy to give them a moment alone. Kate excusers herself just as Alex walks in with Kelsey in tow.

Alex and Joy head outside and get all kinds of cute about their parenting responsibilities. He thinks Stephanie is ready to connect, but Joy isn’t so sure. With that, Alex bids both mother and baby adieu.

Sarah walks into an exam room and meets Destiny, who is dealing with all kinds of symptoms. She doesn’t usually meet with doctors but wanted to take advantage of the free clinic. Sarah inquires about her symptoms and says she took some meds from the back of the cabinet. Destiny notes her head is outback and wants pain meds, but Sarah won’t give her pills until they run tests.

Sarah returns with the results of Destiny’s bloodwork and says she thinks they are dealing with a viral stomach bug. She has meds for her but basically tells her to let it run its course. Destiny is upset as she is in pain and begs Sarah to do something about it. They go back and forth before Destiny heads out.

Marlena walks Xander out to the lobby as they continue to chat about the current situation. He is clearly not happy with her requests and exits when she comes face to face with Sarah.

Later, Marlena asks Sarah to join her, Brady and Belle for a special toast to John. Xander watches in the distance as she thanks Marlena but thinks the close family should enjoy this special moment. After a little pushing, Sarah agrees to join.

Chanel and Johnny emerge from their appointment and encounter Sarah and Marlena. Johnny mentions the doctor’s bedside manner left A LOT to be desired. Marlena kind of agrees based on his reputation. Chanel blurts out she refuses to be pressured into some stupid therapy based on some ridiculous man’s whims.

Later, Sarah runs into Destiny in Horton Square where she clearly needs assistance. Xander is watching from a distance and runs up to help catch a fainting Destiny. Just then, Sarah says she can’t get a pulse.

Lexie Comes Home

Lexie returns home with Abe and Theo in tow (I think it’s strange Abe hasn’t spoken to Paulina). She says it’s wonderful to just be home. Lexie would love to take a walk through the square, buy some clothes and eat out. Theo would rather stay home and cook for his parents. Abe wants her to rest but she says she has been doing so for 14 years and is ready to retake her life.

Theo shows Lexie pictures of a trip he took with Grandma Celeste (DOOM!) and she hopes they can go visit her since she can’t come to them. Lexie then sees a picture of Claire and calls her cheating behind a little tramp. Abe hushes her up and asks if there is someone new in his life. Theo says there was but no longer. Abe thinks he’s talking about Jada, which frustrated Theo. He wants to go on a Sweet Bits run and heads out. Afterwards, Lexie says her son will know when he’s met the right one, just like she did. With that, she and Abe kiss.

Lexie gets into the Paulina of it all and wonders if she will always be in Abe’s heart. He hesitates and she indicates she won’t be okay with that. She doesn’t want to keep him from Paulina forever. Abe says he will call his other wife and say they need space. Lexie would rather him steer clear of her completely.

Later, Abe tells Lexie how much he missed her everyday she was gone. With that, he pulls her into a passionate kiss.

Cat Thinks Versavix Could Save Mama Greene on Days of Our Lives

Mark (yay!) is messing around in EJ’s sketchy lab when Cat’s arrival startles him. She brings him a package from downstairs which he assumes are the test tubes he ordered. Mark asks about her and Aaron’s visit and Cat says her health is declining. It kills Mark he is working on a wonder drug that could save her but will not be ready in time.

Cat is thrilled by the prospect and wants Mark to get a dose to their mother. He says it’s still not approved by the FDA, and notes EJ only gave his sister a dose because she was, well, dead. Cat thinks the FDA doesn’t need to know and Mark wonders what happened to his rule-following sister (really?). Mark says he’s not doing anything to get him back in prison… besides, Dr Rolf keeps it under lock and key. Cat and Mark go back and forth for a while, before she decides she will take on the task of getting their mother the drug.

Paulina Learns of Chanel’s Cancer Diagnosis

Paulina arrives to see Chanel and Little T, who is zonked out in his crib. Paulina notes her daughter’s exhausted state and Chanel says she got bad news the day before. Her mother inquires and Chanel informs her about the biopsy and the news she has breast cancer. She doesn’t love laying this news on her mother, but Paulina wants to know everything. Chanel says the tumor is growing aggressively but there are options for both her and the baby. Paulina promises to try not to worry and will support her in whatever way she can.

Paulina promises to provide positive vibes but wants to be realistic about what lies ahead. She says Chanel was there for her during her cancer scare and now she wants to do the same. Paulina says they always have and will be warriors. Paulina asks what she can do and mentions Sweet Bits. She is surprised to learn Lani is keeping watch and already knows. With that, they embrace and Chanel heads off to take a nap. Very quickly, Chanel returns and hears her mother cancelling a meeting. She says she can’t let Salem fall apart because of her illness. Paulina reluctantly exits for her meeting, and Chanel decides to take Little T out for fresh air.

Philip Sets Gabi Straight About Theo on Days of Our Lives

Gabi stops Philip in Horton Square, but he isn’t interested in anything she has to say. She fills him in on the DiMera inheritance of it all and still wants to give him money to help Titan. Philip is ice cold and wants nothing from her.

Gabi can’t believe Philip would let his pride keep him from accepting her help. She wants to know what she can do and goes into apologizing for all the things she did, including finding out from Theo. Philip is taken aback and says Theo didn’t tell him anything. Gabi thinks she’s made a terrible mistake she needs to fix. Philip interrupts her and suggests she try honesty for a change before sashaying away.

Gabi runs into Theo and immediately apologizes for making assumptions about his betrayal She says Philip set her straight which makes him chuckle. He walks away because she didn’t come to the conclusion herself.

Chanel and Little T run into Theo in the square. She notes the Sweet Bits box and Theo says it’s for his mother who is home from the hospital. They discuss how difficult the entire situation is, but she doesn’t want it to detract from his joy or their relationship. She begins to tell him about her cancer when Theo seems to be having a panic attack.

Chanel and Theo take a seat, and he says he was in sensory overload. She inquires and Theo explains what causes him to meltdown, including mass amounts of change. Theo asks what she was going to tell him, but Chanel backs down and says nothing will ever change between the two.

EJ drops by DiMera and says they need to make an immediate move to keep Johnny on as CEO. Johnny refuses to waste time giving Tony the hard sell because he is determined to quit his post. Johnny tries to explain without giving away Chanel’s secret but eventually breaks down and tells him about her cancer diagnosis.

Jada and Johnny Begin to Put The Puzzle Pieces Together

Johnny goes into a few details but says the only support he needs is separating himself from DiMera. EJ says he doesn’t want his son to make his mistakes as his wife and children must always come first. Just then, Jada arrives to speak with Johnny about Sophia Choi… in private. With that, EJ exits.

Jada informs Johnny the police found the gun Sophia used on him with prints. However, they can never establish the origin because the serial number was scratched off. She is confused why Sophia would have such a gun if she didn’t intend to shoot him. Jada asks for any details he may remember since giving his statement.

Johnny says he has been trying to piece together the events from his horrid night. He says Sophia clearly knew he wasn’t working and would be at home. Further, she knew Chanel was not home and in Chicago with Lani and Little T. Neither can imagine how Sophia would have known any of that specific information. Jada thinks someone may have told Sophia his family’s plans for that day. She asks him to reach out if other memories emerge and makes her exit.

EJ arrives at University Hospital and runs into Cat. She thanks him for allowing her time off to deal with Aaron and the Sophia of it all. He notes the importance of family and she’s glad as she has a big favor to ask.

EJ and Cat take a seat, and she tells him about her mother’s rapidly progressing dementia. He asks how he can help and she brings up the Versavix being used on her in any way. EJ says he will get a message to Dr Rolf to review her mother’s case but must head off to his next meeting. After he exits, Cat calls Rafe and says she laid a trap for EJ.

Paulina arrives in her room at the Salem Inn and gets to work on her computer researching Chanel’s type of breast cancer.

Later, Gabi runs into Philip again after she learns he cancelled her Gabi Chic shipping deal with Titan. She can’t believe he would throw away this business opportunity to assuage his bruised ego. She notes how much else will be impacted by Titan shutting down besides his childish pride… Gabi hates what she did to Philip and wishes it never happened but will not let him out of Titan’s contract.

Later, Mark is in the sketchy lab and panics when he finds the resurrected rats dead once again.

Belle and Marlena are at the Brady Pub discussing the one-year anniversary of John’s passing. Belle recalls a dream she had about her father where he told his tink he never really left them. Marlena knows John will always be close to them. She says she is going to the cemetery. Belle offers to go but her mother wants to be alone with her beloved. They promise to get together later to raise a glass to John.

Tate Tutors Brady in Martial Arts

A shirtless Tater Tot is showing his daddy some martial arts moves. Brady tries his best to mimic his son’s actions as his son giv of es him directions. Just then Sarah arrives with treats from Sweet Bits and enjoys the sight her sweaty

Tate thanks Sarah for the treats and notes how it will fit into his 90/10 diet. Brady notes how Tate has been working him out. With that, Tate exits. Brady switches topics and asks how it is having Xander in the house. Sarah says it’s all good as they simply work around each other. They promise to have dinner soon before Sarah exits. Tate returns and says he hasn’t seen his father this happy in a very long time.

Marlena arrives and Tate hopes she received his messages. She confirms and is thrilled to have found them both at home. Brady asks what she has brought them and Marlena says it’s the chess set bequeathed to her and John from Stefano.

They all go into the Rachel of it all, leading Marlena to ask Tate how Holly is doing. He says not great and she offers up her services, which Tate thinks would be great. Just then, Tate says he needs to go meet Holly and heads off. Afterwards, Marlena says she and Belle are meeting later for dinner to raise a glass to John. Brady is thrilled to meet up with them to honor his father.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: EJ clocks the DiMera in Lexie

Lani is searching for a book when Julie walks up and startles her. She replaces the book and says a friend of hers was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Just then, Eli walks in and Lani embraces her beloved. Afterwards, Eli embraces Julie and they talk about the timing of his return.

Eli asks about the twins, and Lani says her mother offered to stay with them. She hopes they are a good distraction, and Eli notes he can’t believe Paulina walked away from her marriage. Lani thinks her mother was being selfless and Julie believes Paulina was showing her love for Abe. Later, Julie encourages Eli and Lani to get outside and enjoy each other and Salem. Afterwards, Foster arrives to see Julie… which makes her incredibly uncomfortable.

Julie calls Marlena about the one-year anniversary of John’s death and then approaches Foster about the sensitive topic. He understands how horrible the silences are but also notes how impressive it is to get through an entire year without a life partner.

Belle Gives Mama Choi a Dose of Reality on Days of Our Lives

Belle walks into the Salem PD interrogation room and meets up with Mama Choi. They take a seat and Belle offer her condolences and then asks what she can do for her. Amy says she wants manslaughter charges brought against Holly Jonas.

Belle understands Mama Choi’s desire to blame someone but wonders what the proof is behind her legal accusation. Amy pulls out her phone and says she has the proof right there.

Mama Choi shows Belle the horrid social media posts. Belle gets it but notes the original social media thread was written by Sophia. Amy can’t imagine why she would do such a thing. Belle suggests there are multiple reasons which means it won’t hold up in court. Amy notes Holly said things in public, but Belle pushes back. She goes on to say if Amy moves forward, everything Sophia did would be on public display.

Belle continues on her lack of evidence tour when Mama Choi asks if there are other reasons she won’t get involved with prosecuting Holly. Amy thinks there are all kinds of family reasons keeping Belle from prosecuting Holly.

Holly arrives at University Hospital when Sarah enters the exam room. Sarah is confused but Holly says after all the drugging mess she is still having aftereffects and has no clue wha to do to make it better. She asks her aunt for some sort of solution.

Sarah says it breaks her heart to see her niece struggling and wants to hook her up with a therapist. Holly is all kinds of resistant but Sarah notes how proud she is her niece is seeking out help.

Lani and Eli are hanging in Horton Square. Lani opens up about Chanel’s aggressive form of breast cancer after he promises not to say anything. Eli is so sorry and Lani says Chanel is going to be okay as she is so strong and absolutely has to be.

Belle arrives at Brady’s place to celebrate John. Brady brings up the chess set and he and Belle decide to investigate. They are very surprised to find a pawn is missing…

Marlena lays flowers at John’s graveside and says she will always love him. She looks down and finds a penny from heaven. Marlena is certain it’s from John as a reminder he will always be with her.

Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) worries if EJ finds out they used DiMera money to make Titan’s loan payments all hell will break loose. Kate (Lauren Koslow) gathers the troops and says it’s time for them to come together as one. Later, Roman (Josh Taylor) is furious when it appears Kate’s lies about setting up Johnny are revealed.

What side effects will Lexie suffer from her resurrection? Lexie goes at EJ as he never stopped to think what would happen after he brought her back. EJ becomes irate and says every action he takes is for the good of his family! Later, Lexie is in a hospital bed with Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) and Abe (James Reynolds) by her side.

Chanel and Johnny Contemplate Their Future

Chanel is at home on her phone looking up information about her diagnosis when Johnny awakens from his nap. Chanel says she didn’t sleep as she is so worried about her cancer. Johnny is now on the opposite train. He takes his wife in his arms and just knows she is going to be okay. She appreciates his positive thinking but thinks one of them should be a realist.

Johnny warns Chanel against doom scrolling all night long, but she insists she is researching her condition before the meeting with the oncologist. She throws Johnny’s words back at him as she recalls how he wanted her to have an abortion because of the cancer risk. Johnny gets it but says they are in a different situation now as she is in her third trimester (Really? Already?). He knows decisions have to be made and will respect that she is the one to make them. As they embrace, Chanel cries and Johnny says she is his hero.

Chanel recalls how much has happened in the past year. Her current diagnosis reminds her how precious moments are like they are having now.

Later, Johnny and Chanel are bonding on the sofa when he feels the baby kicking. He notes the perspective she earlier discussed and says that kick makes him cherish their current moment all the more.

Theo and Abe Contemplate Lexie’s Return and Paulina’s Exit on Days of Our Lives

Theo is at home looking at a picture of Paulina when Abe arrives home. He excitedly says the doctors have cleared Lexie to return the next day. Theo is happy but says it’s a good thing Paulina moved the remainder of her things out.

Theo asks if his father will get a divorce or if his marriage is invalid. Abe says there will be a time and place to sort out the difficult details. For now, Paulina has made a decision for him which is probably for the best. Theo wonders if his father still loves his most recent wife. Abe says Lexie’s return doesn’t impact his love for Paulina but does seriously complicate the issue. Theo says there is more to his upset but doesn’t want to burden his daddy.

Theo explains a bit about the situation with Gabi without specifically naming her. With everything going on, Theo thinks he is on the verge of breaking down. Abe thinks anyone would be but Theo is more worried about not being fully stable for his mother’s return. Abe assures his son both his parents are proud of him on the daily.

Theo asks what actually makes his father proud. Abe goes into all his business accomplishments in South Africa along with DiMera. Theo gets it but has no clue where he goes next. Abe tells him to relax and see where life takes him.

Abe asks his son to help get the place ready for Lexie’s return. Theo wonders about the pictures and Abe says it doesn’t feel right taking them down. Theo says the reverse also doesn’t feel great. Later, Abe sends his son back to the hospital. By himself, he removes Paulina’s picture from the mantle and replaces it with Lexie’s.

EJ Acknowledges Lexie’s DiMera Side

EJ arrives in Lexie’s room and the two embrace. She notes the doctors have no clue what she should expect moving forward. Lexie doesn’t understand anything and asks for some details.

EJ explains how Versavix is a new drug on the market. When mixed with a formula Dr Rolf developed, it cured her tumor and reversed the damage caused by her sepsis. Lexie is a woman of science and simply doesn’t believe in resurrections, despite her current place in the land of the living. She wonders about Dr Rolf’s current location and EJ says he is unable to make an appearance leaving him to gather data points from Leslie’s vitals. With that, EJ pulls out a syringe and vial as he requires a blood sample.

EJ tucks Lexie’s blood away before asking about her psychological condition. She says she is better than expected mostly because Paulina is out of their lives. EJ is intrigued and Lexie admits she voluntarily walked away. She was surprised as Paulina seemed to her like anything but a quitter. EJ assures her, if Paulina “un-quits”, he will do what needs to be done to get her to stand down.

Lexie notes EJ’s clear annoyance with Paulina and is glad someone else feels the same as she does. EJ doesn’t want to defend Paulina but wants to point out how little his sister bears resemblance to the woman he knew so long ago. Lexie pushes back by recalling her meeting with Paulina when EJ surprises her by noting how alike the two clearly are.

Lexie is horrified by her brother’s observation, but EJ says she should consider it a compliment as Abe has a type. He begins to giggle and tries to goad his sister until sibling silliness. EJ notes he is kind of giddy to see the DiMera side of her in full effect.

Later, Lexie says she doesn’t want to deny her DiMera side but wants to find the right balance for her and Theo in terms of the Carver side. EJ wants to delay the follow up conversation and the two exchange a sweet goodbye.

Arianna Confronts Her Mother About Liam’s Disappearance on Days of Our Lives

Arianna awakens and reads the multiple texts she sent Liam. Just then, Gabi enters with a cup of coffee. She asks what’s wrong and Arianna says Liam left town. Gabi feigns ignorance as Arianna says Liam left without a trace. She has no idea why he is ghosting her. Gabi tries to comfort her daughter, but she is brutally rebuffed as Arianna says his disappearance is her mother’s fault. She can’t imagine what kind of man wants to deal with a girlfriend with an overprotective mother. Gabi refuses to take responsibility and assumes he left because of his unsavory connections.

Gabi notes how little Arianna knows about Liam, and she admits she feels stupid. Gabi says her daughter will eventually meet someone amazing. Arianna says, in the last year, she’s had a front row seat to love and loss of all kinds of folks. She was always in the background which led her to falling so hard for Liam. Gabi says she knows how her daughter feels.

Later, Arianna apologizes for going on about herself when her mother is dealing with the end of her relationship with Philip. She asks if there is anything she can do, but Gabi says she destroyed trust, which is almost impossible to come back from (Hey Gabi, take your own advice as your baby isn’t going to forgive this particular breach any time soon).

Leo Marinates in Grief As Javi’s Boyfriend Comes to Salem

Javi runs into Leo outside the pub. Leo stops him which clearly annoys his former beloved. He notes Javi’s absence from Sophia’s memorial, and he says he had to work. Leo asks about his possible suspension, and Javi says he avoided anything that harsh but is on desk duty. He says he sent the Chois a note in his absence as he sort of knows what they are going through. Javi says, despite everything, he will always be grateful to Sophia for being Little T into the world and leaving him at the firehouse. Leo pushes forward saying so the baby could be a part of their lives. That statement makes Javi break into the smallest of smiles. Javi gets uncomfortable with the closeness to Leo and says he needs to go meet Gus. Leo inquires and Javi says it’s his boyfriend.

Leo becomes a bit to cheeky as he pokes fun at Gus’ name before asking how long he’s going to be in town. Javi says it’s open-ended and Leo notes the noncommittal nature of it all. With that, Javi exits leaving Leo to marinate in his feelings.

Javi walks into Horton Square and sees Gus. He immediately pulls him into a kiss which makes Gustavo suspicious. Javi admits he ran into Leo outside the pub. Leo walks into the square as Gus does his best to help Javi forget about his former beloved (ugh).

Javi notes Leo asked how long Gus planned to stick around. Javi goes on to note there is an opening at his station which Gus could fill if he chooses to stick around…

Later, Leo watches as Javi kind of gets a wee desperate about keeping Gus in Salem. They hug when Gus says he is putting in his papers in Texas so he can relocate to Salem. As they leave the square, Leo continues to marinate in his grief and sorrow.

Theo and Paulina Say Goodbye

Theo arrives at home to talk to Paulina about her selfless sacrifice. Paulina says she is being selfish as she’s moving out to save herself more heartbreak and to preserve her dignity. She has made peace with letting God’s will be done.

Paulina says she is going to check into the Salem Inn. Theo feels awful but Paulina wants him to concentrate on being happy about his mother’s return. Paulina says they are family for life and he agrees. She asks if he can look after Trey and Theo agrees. With that, they embrace.

Marlena Hypnotizes EJ on Days of Our Lives

EJ heads into Marlena’s office for his hypnosis appointment. She has just come from Sophia’s memorial service (I’m so confused about the timeline) and he says Johnny discussed showing her compassion. Before they begin, EJ says he brought her something and Marlena opens up the box to reveal the chess set. He tells her it belongs to her and to do with it what she will.

EJ takes a seat and wants to get down to hypnosis. Marlena probes about his Italian connection to him and EJ fills her in on what few details he knows. He says he and Cat have experienced brief flashes of her by his bedside reading Wuthering Heights. She also thinks there was some sort of kiss.

Marlena puts EJ under and takes him back to the hospital in Italy. He describes how he feels and then says he can hear Cat reading to him from Wuthering Heights. Marlena pushes for more and EJ thinks he hears something or should be able to see something. She thinks he is forcing the issue and brings him out of his hypnotic state.

Later, Marlena almost throws the chess set away but, instead, grabs it and takes it home.

The Chois Memorialize Sophia

Sophia’s memorial service reception is taking place at the Brady Pub. Gabi walks up to Mama and Papa Choi to offer her condolences.

Outside the pub, Cat checks in with Aaron to ask how he’s doing before they head into the reception. He is freaking out and Cat says he isn’t to blame for anything. Aaron is so thankful they still have each other and the siblings embrace.

Cat and Aaron walk in to give their condolences. Aaron tells the Chois about how he always had a crush on Sophia. He wishes he had known he was the baby’s father because he would have stayed by her side. The Chois are truly touched by Aaron’s sentiments.

Tate arrives and the Chois thank him for being at the service as well as all he did to support Sophia during her pregnancy. Tate says he felt really close to Sophia when he thought they were having a baby and will miss the young woman he used to know. The Chois say the outpouring of support has meant the world to them. Mama Choi takes the opportunity to ask where Tate’s girlfriend is…

Tate says Holly didn’t want to come to the pub as she thought it would be upsetting. Mama Choi says it’s yet another thing Holly got wrong. They begin to get into the Holly of it all when Papa Choi steps in and thanks him for coming. Afterwards, she is furious and then breaks down into her husband’s arms.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Chanel's Tumor Is Malignant

Gabi tells Arianna she and Philip broke up. She won’t tell Arianna what she did but says she is almost certain Theo gave her away. Arianna can’t believe it and says how sorry she is about the result. As they continue to talk, Aaron runs out of the pub saying he needs to get out of there and Arianna chases after her.

Arianna catches Aaron who is distraught about how he thinks he played a part in Sophia’s death. Arianna thinks they should focus on the good times and dry to remember the good times with their friend.

Holly spills her tea when Julie arrives with napkins to help. They get into the Sophia of it all and to Holly’s surprise, Julie understands where she is coming from. Julie tells the story of dating her friend’s ex-boyfriend and the mess which ensued, including the death of a child… or so it seemed. Julie goes on and says she totally understands how friendships dissolve and can end in tragedy. Holly smiles and thanks Julie for letting her know someone else understands.

Tate returns and Julie makes her exit. Holly asks about the reception and Tate says it was a really hard day. She wonders if Mama Choi mentioned her and Tate pauses before repeating it’s been a very hard day.

Arianna approaches Julie and asks about Liam. She says he quit and simply says he wanted to move on. Before Arianna can ask more questions, Julie scurries away.  

Gabi Confronts Theo About Ratting Her Out to Theo on Days of Our Lives

Gabi arrives at Chez Carver and lights into Theo for ratting her out to Philip. He says he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Gabi admits she read his diary and knows he has feelings for her. She assumes he ratted her out to Philip to break them up to open up the opportunity for him to move in. Theo denies her accusations and doesn’t care if she believes him. He says he needs to watch Trey and tells her to GO!

Later, Theo reads the passages in his diary Gabi must have seen. His fury grows and Theo rips the page from his notebook and throws it across the room.

EJ and Gabi literally run into each other in Horton Square. He gets under her skin about Philip and Tony’s CEO offer before she storms off. Cat arrives on the scene and EJ updates her on the frustrating results of his hypnosis session. He notes how his comatose state might have kept him from recording memories. He thinks Cat’s unconscious might be the key to unlocking this mystery. She reluctantly agrees to try.

Later, Later, Mama Choi tells Papa she doesn’t want Sophia’s death to be in vein. She wants Holly Jonas prosecuted for manslaughter. Tate and Holly walk in the door just in time to hear her declaration.

Alex and Joy Bond Over Kelsey

Joy and Kelsey arrive for Alex’ first official visit with his baby girl. Joy admits she is nervous as no one has been allowed to watch Kelsey besides her mother and sister. Joy asks when Stephanie will be home and is surprised to learn she is in China. Alex says Stephanie wanted him to bond with his daughter before she got involved.

Joy pushes about Alex staying behind when Stephanie is in China. Alex admits the revelation about Kelsey has been difficult, but they are determined to make everything work. He shows her the book Stephanie bought to try and help learn more about Kelsey, which makes Joy happy. Joy preps Alex for her exit and he promises he will take care of their little girl. Kelsey begins to cry and Joy offers to stay for a while.

Later, Joy guides Xander to help him understand how to soothe their daughter’s anxieties. Afterwards, Kelsey is sleeping and Joy offers to give him some alone time. Alex notes the spit up on his shirt and kind of freaks out but she says she is good to stay.

Marlena Takes Xander to Task on Days of Our Lives

Marlena and Sarah connect in the lobby when Xander arrives on the scene. Xander’s confrontation with Sarah doesn’t go well and Marlena demands he come to her office right now!

Xander takes a seat in Marlena’s office. She asks about his elbow, and he reluctantly admits he was having aggressive sex with Kristen. She asks about Gwen and he says that was never a relationship. Xander says the opportunity with Kristen presented itself and he moved forward. Marlena asks how the tryst made him feel and he admits he feels terrible.

Xander says he’s had several opportunities to put anger management practices to good use which intrigues Marlena. He says he now knows who caused the Titan issues… someone he considered a friend. He says he was hurt and very angry but didn’t lash out. Marlena admits he’s made progress.

Xander moves forward saying Gwen has been pushing him to make an emotional attachment. Marlena questions his connection with Kristen and he notes, what he always wants, is to be back with Sarah. Marlena says he saw the way he treated Sarah earlier and notes he’s not doing himself any favors. She notes Xander always said he was trying to be a better man for his daughter. Xander agrees but also says Sarah is the only woman for him and will love her to his last breath.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Gabi and Gwen Drown Their Sorrows

Johnny is at DiMera when EJ walks in his office to check on his son. Johnny says keeping busy is helping him keep busy from the Lexie distraction at Abe and Paulina’s place. EJ inquires about Paulina, but Johnny is unwilling to engage.

Johnny says Chanel is under a lot of stress and EJ thinks Sophia’s disappearance must be adding to it. Johnny thinks Sophia deserves compassion and EJ admits his son is a better man than he is. Johnny says he has a lot to get done but EJ stops him saying Tony is ready to remove him from the CEO chair. Johnny hates to hear it but understands the sentiment. EJ says they aren’t going down without a fight. EJ goes on to say Tony wants to replace Johnny with Gabi Hernandez, which dismays Johnny. Just then, Johnny gets a text and says he has to go be with Chanel.

Chanel's Tumor Is Malignant

Chanel packs her things because if her mother is leaving so is she and Johnny. Chanel says her place is inhabitable and she wants to bring her mother with her. Paulina refuses but Chanel says her heart is breaking for her. Just then, Chanel gets a call and Paulina heads off to check on Little T.

Sarah is calling to tell Chanel she has the results from her biopsy. Chanel says she will be right there, and Sarah suggests she bring Johnny with her. Paulina returns and Chanel says she needs to get to the hospital for a scheduled appointment. Paulina agrees to look after her grandbaby whilst her daughter looks after her health.

Johnny and Chanel arrive at the hospital where Sarah tells them her mass is malignant. She says the tumor is aggressive but will be responsive to hormone therapy and chemotherapy. Chanel thinks that shouldn’t happen during her pregnancy, but Sarah says it can be safe because she is beyond her first trimester. Johnny steps in to say they must take care of her health first and Sarah agrees.

Later, Johnny embraces Chanel as he tells his wife she is a warrior and will be right by her side through this fight. Johnny just knows Chanel will continue to be the greatest mother to Little T and their future child. With that, they engage in a tearful embrace.

Jennifer Makes Amends With Cat and Chad on Days of Our Lives

Leo and Chad meet up at the Brady Pub to discuss the story about Lexie’s resurrection, but Chad is distracted. Leo pushes and Chad says he thinks EJ is dating Cat. Leo gets it as Chadwick didn’t chose to end his relationship with Cat and EJ is who he is. With that, Leo flashes back to learning Cat is an ISA spy. In real-time, he says Chad shouldn’t worry about EJ which makes his boss curious. Chad inquires and Leo scrambles. Chad wonders what he knows about Cat that he doesn’t.

Cat arrives in Horton Square and runs into Jennifer, who wants a word. Jennifer admits Cat has always taken responsibility for what she did, but she couldn’t find it in her heart to forgive Cat. Jennifer says she and Jack have been in therapy and discusses what in means to make amends. She apologizes for all the pain she’s caused, and Jennifer asks to call a truce.

Cat asks if Jennifer actually forgives her. Jennifer says she wants to let go of her anger as it’s doing no one any good. Cat says she is so sorry for everything she put her family through. Jennifer gets it say she wants to offer up the same grace she’s always been offered.

Jennifer wants Cat to have the best life in Salem she can possibly have… but she doesn’t know if she could possibly handle Cat being with Chad raising her grandchildren. Cat gets it and says she and Chad have accepted the former custody terms.

Jennifer arrives at the Brady Pub and connects with Chad. He says how much his kids have missed their grandparents. She knows he has been avoiding her and notes she just had a really good conversation with Cat… she would love to have the same conversation with him.

Jennifer admits he she was awful to him during the custody debacle. She wanted to hold on to her last connection to Abigail but now knows she did it in the wrong way. Chad takes her hand as he understands her motivation.

Later, Chad thanks Jennifer for loving his children and helping to keep Abigail alive for them. She wants him to find love but doesn’t want him to forget her daughter. Chad says Abigail was the love of his life and lives on through Thomas and Charlotte.

EJ walks up on Cat, and she is surprised when he offers up some kind words for Sophia. She goes into her talk with Jennifer and the Chad of it all. They both rejoice in their moves forward when he says he is going to go forward with they hypnosis sessions with Marlena to clue in on their Italian connection.

Leo arrives in Marlena’s office as Xander is making his exit. They talk about Leo’s problems with Javi’s new boyfriend, and she cautions him against the stalking of it all.

Later, Xander walks back into the lobby and apologizes to Sarah. She can’t hear it and notes what a horrid day she had. Xander wishes he could comfort her but she shuts him down. He puts his tail betwixt his legs and they agree to see each other at home (but her facial expression betrays her).

Mama Choi Demands Answers!

Roman asks Mama Choi if he can get her anything and she thanks him for hosting Sophia’s… prayer service. She refuses to call it a memorial as she knows her daughter is still alive.

Jada arrives with an update on Sophia’s case. She tells Mama Choi the search and recovery operation for Sophia has been called off. Jada says there is almost no chance of recovering Sophia’s remains and is so very sorry. Amy refuses to accept it and yells at Jada to get out there to find her daughter.

Roman walks up to calm the waters when he learns what Jada just told Mama Choi. He says he had to deliver this news many times and knows how difficult it is. Jada says the investigation is ongoing. Amy inquires and Jada says they recovered the gun used to pistol whip Johnny. Amy wonders why she is just learning this information and also can’t imagine where her daughter would have procured a gun.

Jada says they were able to recover Sophia’s fingerprints and remnants of Johnny’s blood. They have not been able to determine the gun’s owner as the serial number was filed off.

JJ and Shawn Catch Up on Days of Our Lives

JJ and Shawn are enjoying breakfast in the square. Shawn says he is about to be cleared to go back to work and he asks JJ if he knows what is next. He says he has a plan but it isn’t quite ready for public consumption.

JJ asks about Shawn living with Jada and he assures his friend it’s strictly platonic until he is fully recovered. JJ offers his help if he ever needs anything and Shawn offers the same.

Jada walks up and joins Shawn and they update each other on their individual conversations. As Jada tells him about speaking with Mama Choi, Shawn takes her hands in his. They talk a bit about the filed off serial number on the gun leading Shawn to wonder if Sophia was working with another. They go on for a bit before Jada says it’s time to get him home and the two hobble away.

Jennifer Accepts Jack's Desire to Reconnect With Gwen

Jennifer is judging a baking contest between Thomas and Charlotte when Jack arrives. He says He got to see Steve, Kayla and Stephanie before they left town but first, he saw Gwen.

Jack says it has been four years since they lost Abigail and doesn’t want to keep adding to his regrets. He wants to have a relationship with Gwen, and she is open to the idea. Jack wonders how Jennifer feels about it. She thinks she is okay but is somewhat envious because her daughter is gone forever (or is she…). Jennifer wants to be happy for him and promises to try.

Jennifer wants to let go of her anger. She says these emotions are a candle she lit for Abigail. If she extinguishes it, she is afraid she will begin to forget her. Jack assures Jennifer that Abigail wouldn’t want them to live with that type of pent-up emotion.

JJ arrives back at the Horton House and checks in with his parents. He thinks they are checking on him but JJ says he is doing better than he has in a very long time. JJ says he remembered his work as an EMT and how meaningful it was. He decided to get re-certified and has applied to work, once again, at the Salem Fire Department.

Later, Jennifer and Jack are thrilled but note they will never stop worrying about him, especially when he came so close to taking his own life. JJ gets it but says he is no longer in that place. JJ values his life and everyone in it.

Gwen and Gabi Drink Their Sorrows Away on Days of Our Lives

Gwen arrives at Small Bar to find Gabi drowning her sorrows. Gabi says she and Philip are over as she betrayed him in a way he can never forgive. She says if she has the chance to self-destruct, she does it every time. Gwen says welcome to the club.

Gabi switches the topic and asks what’s going on with Gwen. She says Jack came to see her wanting to rebuild a relationship. Gabi wants details and Gwen says she isn’t sure what’s going on but wants to take advantage of her second chance (isn’t like her fourth chance?).

Gwen tells Gabi about her not friends with benefits arrangement with Xander. Gabi thinks he’s a great choice for that type of arrangement but notes Gwen’s look. Suddenly, she gasps as she realizes Gwen caught feelings…Gwen confirms and Gabi realizes Xander doesn’t feel the same way. Gwen realizes it’s all her fault for thinking she could be cool and detached. She notes how she has always felt rejected and/or second choice. Gwen has always done what she needed to survive because emotions always get in the way… despite everything, she knows she actually does need love.

Later, Gabi and Gwen wish each other luck and Gabi exits…

Philip Fills Brady in on His Breakup With Gabi

Philip is in his military dress uniform when he runs into Brady. He just came from the Memorial Day service. He is proud he served but not so proud of his behavior afterwards.

Philip tells Brady all about Gabi and what she did to Titan. He stupidly convinced himself he could trust her and now his family could lose everything. Brady thinks he’s being too hard on himself. He thinks Gabi should be beating herself up and guarantees him that she is.

Brady wonders if he could ever get past the betrayal, but Philip thinks he can’t ever get beyond this particular Judas-like act.

Xander and Sarah Argue About Living Arrangements

Xander tells Sarah he is moving back in because the sprinkler system went off in his apartment. Sarah doesn’t get it but Xander thinks it would be better for Victoria for them to be under one roof.   

Sarah thinks they would be promoting a farce as they can barely be in the same room together without fighting. Xander circles and ends up at Sarah’s side asking if there is perhaps some other reason she doesn’t want to live under the same roof. She says his charms are not irresistible and she will be fine. Sarah says he shouldn’t even think of bringing any of his trollups around. Xander mentions Brady and as they get into it, the latter arrives on the scene.

Sarah updates Brady on the new living arrangements. Brady thinks he and Sarah should go back to his place to get out of Xander’s hair. Sarah exits to grab her things leaving Xander and Brady to growl at one another. Sarah returns, kisses Brady and the duo exit… leaving Xander in obvious pain.

Philip Consoles Mama Choi on Days of Our Lives

Philip arrives at the Brady Pub and thanks Roman for all he’s doing for Memorial Day. Roman exits and Philip approaches Mama Choi, saying how sorry he is for her loss. She doesn’t know who he is, but when Philip introduces himself, Amy says she is so glad she ran into him.

Philip takes a seat and Mama Choi says she knows he survived a fall into the Salem River. She asks all the things he did to survive, but Philip says he can’t because he never actually fell into the river. He actually staged his own murder to frame someone else. He says he was in a mental health crisis, which rings true to Amy. Philip points her to the Memorial Day table and explains the meaning of all the items, including those referring to faith. Amy says she has complete faith in her baby girl and would give anything to hold her again.

Later, Gabi runs into Philip and thanks him for his service. He says Semper Fi means always faithful, always loyal, qualities which don’t apply to her (Philip, is that really your lesson to teach?!). Afterwards, he sashays away.

Mama Choi Wants Holly Prosecuted!

Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) is in his dress Navy uniform when he walks into the Brady Pub. He walks over to Mama Choi (She Ni Nielson) and says he is sorry for her loss.

Mama Choi heads to the police station and wants “her” (presumably Holly) arrested for manslaughter.

Belle and Brady are messing with the chess board willed to John and Marlena. Belle notices a piece is missing… the pawn!

Marlena heads to the cemetery to lay flowers by John's grave to honor him on the one-year anniversary of his passing.

Stephanie and Alex Get Sexy Before Her Trip

Stephanie is about to head out when she finds a gift in her bag. Alex walks out and says he wanted to give her something to remember him by. She opens his gift now and finds a contraption which will give her an alert when he wants to contact his beloved.

Stephanie knows today is Alex’ first official visit with Kelsey and, for the occasion, she purchased a stuffed animal. He thanks her for her thoughtfulness, and she hopes to be around for the next visit. They decide they have a little time and head to the bedroom for sexy time.

Steve and Kayla Waltz Down Memory Lane on Days of Our Lives

Steve and Kayla are at the Brady Pub awaiting Stephanie’s arrival so they can head to China for Tripp’s wedding.  They talk a bit about meeting up with Ava at the wedding and Steve says she isn’t the same person. They both agree they’ve all changed in forty years…. Just then we head back into the history of Kayla on the show. She says this trip has her thinking about a trip from years ago… (such good flashbacks!)… I wonder if the mention of Benji means anything since Cat made mention, he couldn’t attend Stefano’s will reading…)

Steve and Kayla go on and on about Benji being deaf and his connection to Kayla which WONDREFULLY leads to the wedding where Kayla miraculously recovers her hearing (I cried then and am crying again in the flashback). In real-time, Steve says they have both made each other brave more times than they could count.

Kayla asks Steve about his wedding speech. He says he’s going to talk about the lack of predictability which is what makes life interesting. The more you go through with your partner, the more you know there is no one you would rather be with. (Cue the flashbacks to Steve and Kayla’s many adventures).

Kayla moves on to discussing their children and how they are what keep their lives the most interesting (Cue the flashback to Joey and Stephanie’s births). While Joey had a rough birth, Stephanie was perfectly healthy. However, things would soon shift when she was kidnapped as a baby (Cue a tiny flashback).

Stephanie and Alex arrive and they talk about how much Stephanie and Kayla have always loved weddings. Kayla flashes back to all three of her weddings to Steve and Stephanie asks which one was her favorite. Kayla couldn’t possibly choose and the family gives her the business.

Jack Embraces Gwen As His Daughter

Gwen is getting out of the shower when Jack comes knocking at her door. She invites her father in and admits she is surprised to see him and wonders why he is there. Jack says Chad told him about her divorce and also that he only has room for one daughter in his life. Jack says he has kept his distance long enough and would like to explore the possibility of a meaningful relationship.

Jack says Jennifer doesn’t know she is there but wouldn’t begrudge him a relationship with his daughter. Gwen rightfully says that isn’t true as Jennifer hates her. Jack loves Jennifer but what happens between the two of them moving forward will only be between the two of them. He notes he has been granted forgiveness for some despicable actions and wants to extend the same grace to her. Jack calls Gwen his daughter and says her loves her which brings her to tears.

Gwen notes she has been particularly emotional lately because of her divorce. It’s not because she misses Dimitri but because it makes her feel unwanted. Jack takes her hand and makes her says she is wanted and loved. With that, they embrace.

Xander Learns The Truth About Gabi's Betrayal on Days of Our Lives

Xander sits down in the Kiraikis living room when Gabi walks in. He goes into the issues at the Salem Inn and how he needs to stay at the mansion for a hot minute. Gabi says she is moving out and admits she and Philip broke up. Xander gets all kinds of pissed when he learns Gabi is the reason Titan tanked.

Gabi wants him to unleash on her as she deserves it. Xander says he has been working on his anger issues and won’t do anything to her. He is particularly upset because he considered her a friend. She concurs and is surprised to learn, had he been in her position, he probably would have done the same thing. Gabi wishes she could go back and change how her greed and ambition got the best of her. She shares the irony of Tony re-offering her the CEO position again. She turned it down because of Philip and will continue to do so to not screw over the people she cares about, once again.

Gabi is convinced Theo ratted her out and lets Xander know he’s been aware for months. Xander finds it peculiar Theo would choose now to out her, but Gabi thinks she knows and flashesback to reading his diary.

Xander tells Gabi though he would never physically harm her; he will hold a grudge so deep she will feel it when she breathes. Gabi says again how sorry she is for her actions and plans to financially compensate Titan if/when she receives Stefan’s portion of the DiMera fortune. After Gabi exits, Gwen calls and Sarah enters. He hangs up with Gwen and Sarah is stunned to learn Xander is moving back in.

Later, Jack arrives at the pub and asks for a private chat with Steve. He gives Steve an envelope full of cash to present to Tripp and Wendy for their wedding. Steve and Jack hug when Alex and Stephanie approach saying it’s time to head to the airport. Steve and Kayla get ready for another adventure, declare their love and kiss.

Gwen is disappointed after a sexless night with Xander. He says he got a pain pill for his elbow and must have fallen asleep. She asks what happened and he lies, saying it was from working out. Xander thinks they should talk and asks about the “added value” she wants to bring to their relationship. Gwen mentions the trouble EJ is in at the hospital and thinks they should team up to buy it out from underneath him. She thinks it would be the ultimate revenge against EJ. He is tempted but does not have the cash to put up. Later, they smell something burning and the sprinkler system goes off.

Kristen Declares Herself Team Tony!

EJ runs into Theo outside the Brady Pub. He updates Theo on Johnny’s condition and EJ is surprised when he learns Tony is considering replacing him at DiMera.

Kristen is in the DiMera living room looking at the chess set Stefano willed to Marlena and John. She wonders what kind of game her father is playing. Later, she texts Xander to see if he wants to enjoy another round of afternoon delight. Later, EJ comes in screaming about Tony wanting to bump Johnny for Gabi at DiMera. They go back and forth before Kristen declares herself Team Tony.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Gabi Has An Offer For Liam He Can't Refuse

Theo meets up with his dad in the pub. They talk about Lexie and Theo says he needs to work on making a decision. He says his father should know all the facts and tells him Paulina also knew about resurrection weeks before it happened. Abe is aghast and Theo continues. He tells the whole story and explains Paulina is actually the reason his mother is alive.

Gabi meets up with Julie in Horton Square. Gabi wants to appeal to the side of Julie that has a heart… Stefan’s heart. She tells her all about Liam and Arianna. Gabi goes onto explain how she is trying to get him to leave town, but the court-mandated literacy classes are stopping him. Julie sees no reason why she couldn’t do the tutoring virtually but will need the approval of the DA’s office.

Tony and Anna are wandering around the square and she notices he is preoccupied with Gabi’s presence across the way. He says he is peeved she turned down the CEO role at DiMera. Anna is surprised to learn she did so because she is now dating Philip. Anna is surprised they are together with everything she did to the Kiriakis family. He says he is going to have to run the company until he finds someone suitable but Anna refuses to accept it.

Paulina and Lexie Come Face to Face on Days of Our Lives

Paulina arrives to see Lexie who knows good and well who she is. She says Abe doesn’t know she’s there as she didn’t want him to feel obligated to referee. Lexie assumes the gloves are off but Paulina isn’t angling for a fight. Lexie lets her know a fight is just what she’s looking for.

Lexie thanks Paulina for “watching out” for Abe while she was gone but she is back. Lexie has no intention of giving up on her marriage. She thinks if Paulina truly loves Abe, she will step aside so he can reclaim the life that was so cruelly taken from him.

Paulina chuckles as she’s always heard what a saintly and pure woman Lexie was (somebody was telling al lie) but sees now she’s a fighter. Paulina says she is the same but will not be pulling out her claws to fight for her man. She is going to do the right thing and step aside so Lexie can get reacquainted with Abe and Theo. Lexie doesn’t know what to say and Paulina asks her not to make her regret her decision before making her exit.

Theo arrives to see his mother who quickly tells him Paulina has decided to step aside. His response is muted which surprises Lexie. He says as thrilled as he is for his parents, his heart breaks for Paulina. Lexie very flippantly says Paulina will eventually be fine. Theo says he’s also heartbroken for himself as he doesn’t like change and thinks of Paulina as family.

Gwen runs into Kristen in the hallway of the Salem Inn. They chat about the sprinkler system issues and then Gwen gets into Kristen’s new boy toy. After a quick minute, Gwen exits and Xander comes around the other corner. They quickly get into the room and down to business.

Anna Throws Gabi Under The Bus

Philip is surprised when Anna shows up at Titan. He is surprised to learn Gabi was offered and turned down the CEO position at DiMera. Philip thinks it’s because she no longer wants to be involved with the DiMeras. Anna pops off about her feeling guilty which confuses Philip. She realizes she’s gone too far and tries to dance around the topic. Philip demands the truth and Anna tells the story of Gabi planting the bug in Philip and Xander’s office.

Philip arrives in Horton Square and Gabi approaches. She asks about the news he has and Philip says the handwriting analysis confirmed the signature on her divorce papers was forged. Gabi is thrilled and goes to hug him, but he pulls away. He says he knows she planted the bug in his office and is the reason he and Xander lost DiMera, tanking Titan.

Gabi is completely caught off guard and tries to explain but Philip isn’t hearing it. She asks who told him the truth, but he says it’s not important. Philip says had Gabi told him the truth up front he may have been able to forgive her but not now. He never wants to see her face again, tells her to move the hell out of the Kiriakis mansion and storms out.

Tony returns to the DiMera mansion where EJ asks about ousting Johnny from the company. Tony says he has no say as he owns the company and EJ previously said he had no interest. EJ flashes his phoenix ring and says Tony may own the company, but he is their father’s heir apparent.

Anna returns to the DiMera mansion and says she has just returned from seeing Philip. She says she may have accidentally revealed to Philip that Gabi was his corporate spy. Anna says she didn’t implicate Tony and the only thing in danger is Gabi and Philip’s relationship. Tony is livid as Gabi will think he is responsible and will never come to work at DiMera.

Abe returns home and Paulina says they are over. Abe slows her down and says he knows how instrumental she was in bringing Lexie back. He tells her that he should be able to make his own decision and not have Paulina choose for him. She asks if Abe would have made a different decision than hers and he remains silent. Paulina figured as much, tells Abe goodbye and walks out the door.

Sarah and Amy Discuss Sophia and Holly’s Troubled Relationship

Mama Choi is standing by candlelight and cards placed at the sight Sophia went into the water when Sarah arrives. Mama Choi says, no matter where she is headed, she always ends up back at the sight of the incident. She goes on to say how the police have stopped looking, but without indisputable evidence, she refuses to give up hope. Sarah concurs the belief she will see her daughter again.

Mama Choi is so hopeful as Sarah thinks Sophia is still alive. Sarah apologizes and says she thinks she will see her daughter again in heaven. Amy agrees as God would never punish her daughter for having mental health challenges… unlike people like Holly who have no excuse for their actions. Sarah reminds Amy her that Holly is her niece and deeply regrets her words and actions. Amy corrects Sarah saying Holly has no regrets for her actions.

Sarah can’t know how Mama Choi feels but says she lost a child and struggled with finding forgiveness. Amy pushes back but Sarah says the person she struggled to forgive most was herself. Sarah gets why she is angry but hopes Amy will find it in her heart to extend the grace to Holly which God extends to all of them.

Mama Choi says she comes down all the time to read the cards and the kind words. There is one person who hasn’t done so… Holly. Sarah apologizes but thinks maybe her niece doesn’t think it’s appropriate. Amy agrees it wouldn’t be as Holly has no regrets which makes her know justice must be served.

Chad and Belle Enjoy Their Delayed First Date on Days of Our Lives

Chad meets Belle in Horton Square for their promised date. They discuss his eternally long road trip with the kids. Belle gets it but is also glad they’re getting a chance to get together. They get into the miracle of Lexie and how he thinks about family. Belle brings up the custody suit and Chad admits there is still tension between him and Jack and Jennifer. Belle knows Chad is a great father and has done so much to keep Abigail’s memory alive for them. Chad gets a look and admits, before he knew Lexie was in the pod, he thought it was Abigail. Belle totally understands why he felt that way.

Belle realizes she and Chad have spent a lot of time discussing the past and wants to move to the present. She moves to the upcoming summer, and he says his kids seem to be excited about spending time with friends. They giggle about his kids, and they talk about Thomas’ love of baseball which connects to John. With that, Chad and Belle touch hands.

Cat and EJ Also Enjoy Their Delayed First Date

Cat and EJ meet for dinner at The Bistro. She wants to discuss business, but he thinks there is no use as he might not be her boss for very long. Cat doesn’t understand and EJ fills her in on the hospital board’s filed complaint. They are unhappy about private research on hospital grounds. If they are successful, he could be pushed out… but it also puts the hospital in a precarious financial position. Cat wonders what they will do, and EJ says the situation will be worse than before. Xander put up a bid, but Titan has tanked and he can no longer do so (Lexie and Gabi could be options).

Cat seems to be playing to EJ’s good graces by wondering why the hospital wouldn’t want to benefit from what would clearly be a cash cow… eliciting a smile from EJ. She goes on and brings in Mark (Where is he??) when EJ says they should shift from business.

Cat talks about Felicity and they both smile about how amazing she is. Cat asks about Sydney and EJ says they talk a lot (She needs to be wreaking havoc in Salem!). EJ goes on an on about how much Sydney is a combo platter of him and Samantha. Cat asks if she will return and he says he is certain she will be back very soon (Yessss!).

EJ isn’t certain what caused him and his daughter to drift apart, which makes him think… EJ asks if Cat ever saw Samantha in Italy. Cat lies saying her memories are fuzzy from that time. EJ says he was in a coma but it’s so strange she was there with him reading. He hopes he is able to unlock memories with Marlena. EJ notes her discomfort and Cat thinks his brain is likely trying to protect him from something painful. EJ doesn’t care as he wants to know the truth.

Gabi Produces an Offer Liam Can’t Possibly Refuse on Days of Our Lives

Liam arrives at the Kiriakis mansion after being summoned by Gabi. She has an offer for him about which she doesn’t want Arianna to know. She knows he and his son have led a very hard life leading to unfortunate choices… a life with which she is well-acquainted. With that, she pulls out an envelope with a check for 150,000 dollars. The only stipulation is he and his son must leave town immediately. He says this is not just about Arianna. His parents are in Salem and can’t leave them. In addition, he is on probation and can’t violate it. She says she will work with his probation officer and the literacy lessons of it all if he will agree to leave town. Liam says if she can make everything happen, they have a deal.

Liam thinks Gabi is bribing him and she says call it what he will, but she’s sure it’s more money than he’s ever seen. Gabi thinks that money could be life-changing for him and can’t believe he would turn down this type of windfall.

Arianna Tries to Calm Holly’s Continued Chaos

Arianna and Holly meet up at the Brady Pub to celebrate getting through their first year of college. Holly continues to gripe about her grades and says after being drugged she hasn’t been the same. Further, she is haunted by these images of Sophia. Arianna concurs saying they are all haunted. They mention the Mama Choi of it all and Arianna says she also heard a mouthful from her about how she and Sophia used to be besties which made her feel guilty. Holly says she doesn’t feel guilty for anything she said or did.

Holly hates what happened to Sophia but doesn’t feel guilty and won’t pretend any differently. Arianna gets it but says she should probably talk to someone to process her feelings and give her some perspective. Holly pushes back but Arianna won’t let the situation go as she is worried about her friend. Holly is like a dog with a bone and says her connection to Liam is more worrisome than anything he has going on with Sophia’s memory.

Holly continues to rail on Arianna who tries to stop the speeding train. She says she understands Holly is having a hard time and is always there to support her. Holly calms down and thanks her friend for her support.  

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Lexie Questions Kayla About Paulina

Gabi arrives at the Brady Pub and tells Arianna there will be a service for Sophia the next day. Arianna isn’t certain which leads Gabi to tell her about her namesake’s funeral and how it’s always important to pay respects. Arianna agrees and embraces her mother.

Holly returns to the Kiriakis mansion and runs into Sarah in the living room. She says she went to Sophia’s memorial and ran into Mama Choi. Sarah tells her about the memorial service and how she thinks it will be a good idea to go. Holly is more than hesitant, but Sarah thinks it could be a bit of an olive branch. Holly promises to think about it.

Chad knows the Cubs were important to John, but the Yankees owned his heart. Belle responds with, “that’s a fact” (Like a knife through my heart). Belle gets a little emotional and Chad gets it. He asks if she is willing to go out with him again to a Cubs’ game. Belle agrees just as EJ and Cat walk up. They chat for a bit before EJ and Cat head to the park for a walk, leaving Belle and Chad in an uncomfortable position.

Gabi and Theo Talk Resurrected Mamas and DiMera CEOs

Gabi runs into Theo in Horton Square. He updates her on his mother, and Gabi says how happy she is for them. He doesn’t think any of them have really processed her resurrection. They take a seat and Gabi asks how he is handling everything. Theo is happy to have his mother back but is truly concerned for his father and the decision he will need to make.

Gabi asks if Theo quit DiMera because his mother didn’t want him to work there. Theo confirms and says Johnny is a better fit. Gabi mentions Tony and says he doesn’t want Johnny working there because he’s an artist and not a businessman. Gabi says he offered the job to her. Theo thought Tony wanted to keep the company in the family. Gabi notes she is technically family and Theo knows she will be great at the job. Having buried the lead, Gabi says she turned Tony down. They talk a bit more and Theo says she always has him in her corner.

Lexie Has Questions About Paulina Price on Days of Our Lives

Kayla is visiting with Lexie and wants to take off her doctor hat and talk to her like a friend. Lexie asks about Kayla’s life, and she learns about Tripp and how Steve was thought dead (like so many others). Kayla asks if she’s spoken with Abe about his life. She says not much but has done some research and has some concerns about one Paulina Price.

She used Theo’s phone and saw the article about her wanting to tear down Horton Square and replace it with Pricetown. She also saw how Paulina basically stole the mayorship from Abe and wonders why in the world the two got married. Kayla says Paulina isn’t a bad person and Lexie relents remembering all the ways she hurt Abe back in the day. She thinks she is just looking for reasons to hate the woman who replaced her.

Lexie says for everyone else it’s been fifteen years. For her, it’s like she woke up from a long nap, and she feels her love for Abe in the same way. Kayla says Abe mourned for a long time and it was really Theo who got him through it. When he met Paulina, it took him a long time to fall in love and even longer to get married. Lexie asks about Paulina and Kayla says she is a force of nature with a good heart. Lexie smiles as she wonders what Abe will do. Kayla thinks Abe needs time but Lexie wonders how much time as she doesn’t even have anywhere to live. Later, Kayla promises to talk to Abe, so he knows she is strong enough to have difficult discussion. Lexie is grateful but says she also needs to meet Paulina.

Abe Thanks EJ But Warns Him to Steer Clear of His Family

Abe enters the DiMera mansion living room and thanks EJ. He is surprised Abe even left Lexie’s bedside. Abe knows there must be selfish motives for bringing Lexie back but also knows he loves his sister. Whatever his motives are, Abe is eternally grateful EJ brought his wife back. EJ says it was Stefano’s last wish to bring Lexie back. Abe wants him to keep that part a secret as he doesn’t want to disturb the special relationship Theo has with his grandfather.

Abe moves on to discuss Theo’s position at DiMera. EJ says he has done everything he can to keep Theo out of the CEO chair, which is why he told him about Lexie. Abe offers his thanks for that action, as well. Despite all the thank yous, Abe says he doesn’t trust EJ and asks him to stay away from Lexie and Theo while they work through their issues. He also knows how much EJ dislikes Paulina and he admits it will be very sweet to watch Abe kick her to the curb. Abe wonders why he would do such a thing. They go back and forth when EJ wonders just how long he can put off making a decision about how to move forward.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Kristen and Xander Have a Dirty Afternoon

Joy is hanging at the Brady Pub when Philip walks over and joins her. He meets Kelsey and says she must have gotten her looks from her mother. Philip was hoping to run into her as Chloe texted and asked him to check up on her.

Joy says she returned to Salem so Alex could be a part of Kelsey’s life. Philip wonders how Stephanie is holding up, and Joy realizes it’s the real reason for his visit. Philip says Stephanie is a good friend, but he also cares about Alex and her.

Philip tells her about the state of Titan and how Alex probably doesn’t have a lot of money for child support. Joy says she’s not there for the money and only wants Kelsey to be close to her father. Philip is a wee jealous of her clarity and says she has a job at Titan when/if it gets back on steady ground. Joy asks Philip to give her family a solid report and Philip makes his exit.

Stephanie Pushes Alex Not to Attend Tripp’s Wedding on Days of Our Lives

Stephanie arrives home and finds herself alone. She removes the gun from her purse and puts it back in the bottom desk drawer. Just then, Alex walks in and updates Stephanie on his chat with Joy about Kelsey’s custody. Alex says no decisions have been made as she needs to weigh in as well. He says the only thing they discussed is adding him to the birth certificate and changing Kelsey’s last name to Kiriakis. Alex goes on to discuss scheduling a play date, but it will have to wait until after Tripp and Wendy’s wedding. Stephanie wonders if he really wants to go.

Alex thinks Stephanie doesn’t want him to go but she says her concern is about him missing bonding time with his daughter. He understands the timing isn’t great, but he doesn’t want Stephanie to go alone. She wants him there but knows Alex’ mind will be elsewhere. Stephanie also thinks the first play date should just be with him. She promises she is trying to deal with the situation and Alex promises to do everything to support her. Alex agrees to stay behind and says he will miss her like crazy. Stephanie does not return the sentiment and still looks all kinds of stressed. Later, they get kind of cute when they plan their evening and share a dance.

Abe returns to the hospital and runs into Kayla, who says Lexie is strong enough to have tough conversations. She promises to support both of them in any way she can. Abe exits and EJ arrives. Kayla says the hospital board met to meet about EJ’s highly questionable research practices. They have decided to file a complaint with the medical board.

Abe arrives at Lexie’s bedside and tells him that she wants to meet Paulina. Abe could never say no to her and promises to bring Paulina over ASAP.

Philip arrives and interrupts as Gabi and Theo were saying goodbye. Philip gets oddly animated and Theo leaves. He thinks he made Theo uncomfortable and Gabi agrees. Philip inquires and Gabi says he had just been opening up to her, and he scolds himself for interrupting a private conversation.

Theo walks into the Brady Pub and runs into Joy. He says his father produced Body and Soul but didn’t know she still lived in Salem. Joy says she just returned and introduces him to Kelsey. She begins to cry and Theo saves the day by finding her stuffed elephant (nice chemistry here).

Stephanie Isn’t Ready to be a Stepmother

Stephanie returns home after meeting with a new client. She spots a plush toy Alex bought for Kelsey, and she thinks they need to address the elephant in the room. Alex agrees and Stephanie say she isn’t ready to be a stepmother.

Alex asks for details and Stephanie say she isn’t ready to take on the role. Alex gets it but says she is Kelsey’s stepmother whether or not she’s ready for it. Alex reads the room and wonders if she is asking him to choose between her and his daughter.

Stephanie says she would never ask him to choose, BUT it isn’t what she signed up for. She also can’t trust him as he said it was Joy’s decision to stay in Salem but she told her that he asked her to stay (for the love…). Alex apologizes but thought she understood how complicated things were for him. Stephanie notes the complexities for her but thinks what she wants or needs just isn’t important (Mary and Joseph… Stephanie’s recovery is annoying me!). Alex is frustrated when Stephanie gets a text about her reservation at the gun range and leaves.

Lani and Joy Bond on Days of Our Lives

Joy and Kelsey are in the park when Lani approaches and addresses her by her soap opera name. Joy introduces herself and Kelsey. They take a seat and Joy tells her all about Alex and how he deserved to know his daughter. She says being a mother has changed her completely and will do anything to make sure she has a good life.

Joy makes note of being a single mom and Lani says she sometimes gets a taste of it when Eli is away. Joy thanks Lani for being so kind as she is certain Chanel has told her all kinds of things. Lani gets why Chanel feels a certain kind of way but doesn’t blame Joy for anything. She advises Joy to give her sister space and time.

Paulina Urges Chanel and Her Family to Stay on Days of Our Lives

Chanel is at Abe and Paulina’s place and chatting with Johnny on the phone. Afterwards, Chanel winces with pain at her biopsy sight when Paulina walks in the room. She lies to her mother saying she hit her funny bone on the computer. She says she is happy to have her whole family under one roof, but Chanel thinks her, Johnny and Trey being there might be a burden. Paulina says it’s keeping her sane and begs her daughter not to go anywhere.

Chanel promises they will stay as long as her mother needs her. She moves on to asking about Lexie, specifically where she will go after her hospital discharge. Paulina gets it but says she and Abe haven’t spoken about anything as Theo and Abe have been at her bedside 24/7.

Paulina wonders if she is still Abe’s wife and has no will nor energy to fight fate. The honorable thing will be to bow out which is exactly what she is going to do. Just then, Lani returns.

Lani immediately gets into the complicated nature of Chanel’s life with Johnny almost dying and awaiting biopsy results. Chanel admits she’s going through it. Lani wonders if she’s told their mother but Chanel just can’t lay one more thing on their troubled mother. With that, the two embrace.

Later, Chanel thinks she is due for a miracle and notes how Trey and the baby she is carrying are both miracles. Just then, Paulina walks in and thinks miracles are beyond her reach.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Kristen Wants EJ Dethroned

Sarah is at the hospital when Brady approaches and gives her a smooch. He wants to take her to lunch but she’s stuck working a double. Sarah hates she doesn’t get to see her little girl for another night.

Sarah apologizes for being insensitive as he can’t see Rachel when he wants. Brady is all good as he wants her to open up to him about everything. They promise to hang out later before he makes his exit.

Sarah walks into an exam room and is thrilled to see Brady with Victoria in tow. He would love to take Victoria home, but Brady has to go to the gun range to move towards his PI license. Sarah winces as his new, dangerous role concerns her. Brady promises he will be okay and the two embrace.

Later, Sarah returns saying Xander’s elbow isn’t fractured and tells him to get ready to have her snap it back into place, after which he will need to wear a sling. Without warning she pops into place and smiles.

Gwen Confides in Leo About Xander

Gwen and Leo are catching up when she begins to cry. He hasn’t seen her this upset since her American Idol audition (I’m surprised they didn’t use The Voice)! Leo asks for details as he hates seeing her this upset. Gwen says it’s about Xander.

Gwen told herself she was good with a no strings attached scenario with Xander but should have known her heart would get in the way. Leo knows just how sensitive Gwen is and also notes her upset isn’t just about Xander. Gwen says it’s not and admits it’s also about EJ. Leo inquires and Gwen says the bastard double crossed her.

Leo pushes a bit too much and Gwen assumes he is not being her friend but a weasely reporter. Leo notes he is always pushy but simply trying to be her friend. She asks if he is being sincere and Leo confirms, saying he misses his friend. Gwen believes him and then asks if there is any friend he’s ever liked more than her. Leo waxes poetic about a girl in the 8th grade which sends her into tears again as she can’t ever come first for anyone!

Kristen and Xander Bone on Days of Our Lives!

Kristen and Xander are at the Salem Inn where she wants him to wipe EJ off the face of the planet. Xander thinks her request is about Titan and DiMera’s feud. Kristen says that would be business and this is personal.

Xander can’t believe she thinks he would ever entertain such a dark request. He can’t imagine what she is offering to entice him and Kristen says she is offering up all kinds of money. She notes Titan’s money problems and Xander tells her to go to hell. Kristen thinks Xander has gone soft and he admits he’s been going to therapy to try and tamp down his murderous impulses (These two have such delicious chemistry).

Kristen notes Xander must have his own personal goon squad to handle his business. She notes how he and EJ are business rivals and it’s only a matter of time before her brother does something to burn him. Kristen notes how the world will be a much better place without EJ in it and knows Marlena would agree.

Kristen asks if he is tempted but Xander still says no. He moves back to the sexuality of it all and wonders about a little afternoon delight. Kristen leans in and the two get down to a heavy makeout session (thank heavens he showered!). Kristen rips the shirt off Xander and rubs her hands all over his chest and rips out his belt. She says he has been a very bad boy and silences him. Kristen asks who is in charge and Xander says she is.

Xander finds himself on the bed with his hands bound by his belt as Kristen begins to kiss down his chest… Later, Kristen is naked and asleep next to him as Xander struggles to release his hands from the ties that bound him.

Later, Gwen says good for Kristen and if her being with Xander was any inspiration she takes it as a badge of honor.

Sarah walks into an exam room and finds a battered Xander on the table. She takes a look at the chart and notes he has an elbow injury but also sees he has burn marks on his wrist. Sarah thinks his elbow is dislocated and asks what happened to his wrists. She is ordering an x-ray to make sure nothing is fractured and will pop it back into place.

Gwen and Leo walk towards her room when they run into a very disheveled Kristen. Leo tries to be diplomatic but then notices she looks like she just auditioned for an 80’s hair band video… which leads him to assume Ms DiMera engaged in a little afternoon delight. Kristen warns him not to give her trouble, but Leo presses forward about what was clearly her midday mambo, as Gwen watches on.  

Stephanie and Brady arrive at the gun range when he notices something is off. Stephanie dives into the Alex, Joy and Kelsey of it all, but thinks she sounds like a heartless bitch. Brady thinks it would be a lot for anyone to deal with. She is just starting to figure out how to take care of herself and can’t imagine being responsible for an infant. He

Alex arrives in the park and presents Kelsey with an elephant named Horton and brings up the Dr Seuss book with the same name. They get into the legalities of the situation and Alex says he consulted his dad about the logistics of join custody, and she is down to make it official. He thinks the next step is to allow Stephanie to meet the baby. Joy says she already did and is surprised Stephanie didn’t tell him. He says Stephanie is still getting used to the idea of him having a child. Brady says children have a way of stealing your heart.

Later, Alex thinks they should set up a time to bring Kelsey by the apartment for an official meeting and then the baby will officially be Kelsey Kiriakis. He asks if Kelsey has a middle name and Joy says no but thinks Adrienne would be nice. Alex tears up and asks to hold the baby.

Cat Probes EJ About His Miracle Drug

EJ and Cat are in his office discussing the sketchy lab and Lexie of it all. She thinks it’s amazing what he’s done for his sister. EJ says Lexie’s resurrection was his father’s final wish. She can’t help but wonder what it was like for him to go through this situation all by himself. Cat wonders how he and his life-changing drug proceed from here. EJ says, carefully…

Cat assumes he will move forward carefully as there must be many other test subjects “on ice.” He says there are many opportunities available but must move forward with caution. Cat worries about her brother who is on probation. EJ assures her Mark’s work has been strictly with animal test subjects as he wouldn’t put him in danger to legally compromise himself. He hopes she trusts him and she is kind of shocked to hear herself say she does.

EJ mentions their time together in Italy and says he wants to know what really happened. Was it coincidence or orchestrated? He mentions Marlena hypnotizing him and promises to keep her in the loop. With that, she heads off to lunch.

Javi Contemplates a Return to Texas on Days of Our Lives

Javi and Rafe are having a weird fight about pizza crust at the Hernandez House. They get serious for a minute as Rafe hopes his cousin is okay. He is so glad to have him home and thanks him for the bravery he showed in saving Johnny’s life.

Javi worries his boss won’t see the situation the same. Rafe says he is a hero, but Javi says he took a chance and got lucky. He broke protocol and hopes he still has a job. Javi asks his cousins to put in a good word for him but Rafe doesn’t think it will do any good. However, a certain man whose son’s life was saved might actually be able to make a difference.

Javi says there is no way she is going to ask EJ DiMera to speak on his behalf. Rafe understands but thinks EJ owes him, but Javi will never be beholden to that bastard. If the worst happens at work, maybe he should go back to Texas. He loves being in Salem with his family, but the move has crossed his mind a few times. Before they can get into it too much, Javi takes off.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) recap: Mama Choi Unleashes on Holly!

Cat arrives to see Rafe and updates him on the DiMera happenings. She says they have even bigger problems as Leo clocked her as an ISA agent. She explains it’s because of a course of events related to Dimitri. Rafe realizes her cover is blown, but Cat thinks she has figured out a way to keep Leo quiet… but Rafe is not so sure, but they agree to move forward.

Cat follows up with the news EJ is going to start digging into their time at the Italian hospital and has booked an appointment with Marlena. Rafe freaks and says they will need to stop that mess fast. Rafe worries about her being clocked by EJ but Cat says she can handle it and notes, once again, they have even bigger problems… the life-restoring drug impacting Lexie and possible others. Rafe agrees they need to shut everything down.

Kristen Wants to Dethrone EJ!

Chad arrives at the DiMera mansion and discusses Lexie with Kristen. She wonders if death is not permanent what does that make life. Chad agrees and adds in the grieving and moving on of it all. She thinks the DiMeras playing God should have ended with their father years ago, but Chad isn’t so sure…

Kristen assumes correctly Chad is thinking of Abigail. He confirms but says EJ made it clear she wasn’t eligible because the appropriate steps weren’t taking to preserve her cryogenically at her time of death. Kristen thinks EJ is following in their father’s blueprint of playing God and it must stop now. She doesn’t know how she would stop EJ but wouldn’t cry if EJ vanished from the face of the earth tomorrow. That being said, she has no desire to return to prison both because of herself and her daughter. What happens to their family if EJ continues to play king? Chad wonders if she would like to take his place and install herself as queen. With that, Chadwick heads out.

Gwen and Xander’s Fling Takes a Messy Turn on Days of Our Lives

Xander arrives to see Gwen at the Salem Inn where they immediately get down to sexy time. They are now in the afterglow, but he has no time for round two as he needs to head back to the office. He notes her upset and wonders if she no longer enjoys their no strings arrangement. She wonders if the bloom is off the rose as he no longer gets to torment EJ whilst bedding her down. Xander can’t deal with the emotion of it all and heads to the shower.

Later, Xander returns dressed and asks Gwen not to mess up their lovely arrangement. Gwen doesn’t think adding value to their arrangement puts it in danger. Just then, Xander gets a text from Gwen and says he needs to head out for work.

Chad Gives Leo The Go Ahead to Write About Lexie

Chad and Leo meet up at the Brady Pub to get into the Lexie of it all. Chad says she is stable and awake which Leo loves because they need to run the story. He knows he is being insensitive, but it is clearly the story of the year! Chad agrees and says he can run the story but wants to respect story and not sensationalize it. Leo goes into his normal word salad where he accidentally implicates Cat for being in the tunnels with him during the will reading.

Chad asks for specifics about why Cat was in the tunnels and Leo flashes back to figuring out her ISA status. He says she was simply grabbing a bottle of wine and covered for her to keep her out of EJ’s crosshairs. Just then, EJ arrives and Leo heads to the bar.

Chad asks about the dinner plans he heard him and Cat discussing at the will reading. EJ plays it off but Chad thinks he has been circling his former beloved for months. They go back and forth and Chad tells his brother to stay the hell away from Cat. EJ says their work relationship makes that demand impossible and also, he is not the one legally bound to keep his distance from Ms Greene. With that, he exits.

Xander arrives in another room at the Salem Inn to meet Kristen, who wanted some privacy to connect. She says she wanted a moment where no one was lurking around corners at the DiMera mansion. Xander was hoping for something a bit more nefarious and assumes she wants some sexy time. Kristen says they need to talk about their alliance against EJ as it’s time to step up their game.

Kristen ignores Rafe’s call and gets back into it with Xander. She mentions Lexie’s resurrection which moves them onto plan B for punishing EJ. She thinks they need to eliminate him completely and wants Xander to take care of it.

Later, Leo shows up at the Hernandez House to bring Javi his favorite meal to aid in his recovery. Rafe says he is out and when Leo pushes him he says he is picking his boyfriend up from the airport. Leo thinks he should leave but before he does, Rafe says he is sorry things worked out the way they did. Afterwards, Cat emerges from the bedroom. They go back and forth until Cat exits. Later, Rafe calls Kristen…

Even later, Leo and Gwen meet up in the hallways of the Salem Inn discussing their gloomy moods… which brings them together and Gwen asks if he wants to join her for brooding and caffeine.

Chanel Gets Biopsied as Johnny Is Released

Sarah checks on Shawn to tell him that he’s ready to be released and Jada is on the way. Sarah is curious why Shawn is staying with Jada instead of Belle. Shawn says it would be odd with them being divorced and he and Jada get on just fine… as friends. Sarah isn’t buying what he’s selling.

Johnny is getting dressed for release when Chanel walks in. He doesn’t want to be anywhere but by her side when she receives her biopsy. She thinks he is stubborn but could use the support as she is also having to be strong for her mother. Johnny inquires and Chanel says he is not going to believe what his dad has done now. Johnny feels so badly for her parents. They decide to focus on the positives and begins to name off all the things for which they can be grateful. With that, Jada and Shawn exit.

Sarah gets Chanel set for her biopsy and afterwards she tells her to go home and rest. Chanel asks about the results, and Sarah is sorry to say it will be a few days. She knows it will be a lot to get through and encourages her to stay as active as she can and know she can handle anything.

Johnny meets up with Shawn in the lobby. They discuss their recent maladies when Jada walks in to pick Shawn up. He asks what’s up and Jada tells them both about breaking the news to the Chois that their daughter is most likely dead.

Sarah and Chanel walk into the lobby and update Johnny on what happens over the next few days. Sarah says neither of them should do any heavy lifting and be patient. With that, the couple exits.

Arianna Gives Her Mama a History Lesson on Days of Our Lives

Arianna is at the Hernandez House when a chatty Gabi arrives on the scene. She has soup for Javi, but Arianna says he’s sleeping. She wants her to put the soup in fridge so her mother will get gone. Gabi is certain she misheard her daughter because she is her mother and must be treated with respect. Arianna wants the same from her mother and thinks she is playing helicopter mom. She says she has no idea how overprotective her dads were in Arizona and can’t stand having the same in Salem. Arianna assumed it would be different here because her mother has always been about herself. It’s too little too late.

Gabi can’t believe her daughter doesn’t need her and thinks back to win she was a little girl vying for her attention. Arianna says it’s the reason she moved to Arizona because she was desperate for attention. Gabi goes OFF reminding her daughter she was in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Arianna knows she didn’t leave on purpose, but her mother can’t make up for lost time by keeping her from Liam. Gabi can’t believe she’s back to talking about that felonious slug and wonders what is wrong with her daughter. Arianna says like mother like daughter. They go back and forth about the Liam of it all until Gabi realizes Arianna truly is her mother’s daughter. Arianna wants to learn from her own mistakes as her mother did years ago.

Gabi doesn’t want her daughter to hurt the way she has. Arianna assumes she is talking about Stefan but thinks she can’t possibly be still obsessing over Stefan. Gabi tells her all about Philip’s trip to Alamania and the discovery the divorce papers were forged. She goes on to update her about the possible inheritance but says the most important thing is she knows he loved her before he passed.

Later, Arianna mentions Sophia and Gabi simply can’t imagine how much grief the Chois are going through. Arianna apologizes for being so hard on her mother and says what happened with Sophia really messed her up. Gabi gets it as she remembers her play dates with Sophia when they were little girls. Gabi can’t imagine losing Arianna and the two embrace.

Jada Informs The Chois The Search For Sophia Has Turned to a Search and Recovery

Mama and Papa Choi are at the Salem PD to chat with Jada, who says they still haven’t found Sophia. She says it has been long enough that the search and rescue is now a search and recovery. Mama Choi is beside herself and goes OFF! She thinks Jada isn’t exhausting all resources because of who she thinks her daughter is and she won’t have it!

Jada gives them some space and Papa Choi thanks Jada for all she’s done for them. After she leaves, Mama Choi lights into her husband. He says how much he loves his daughter and his heart is broken. She says she has never given up on their daughter and won’t start now.

Mama Choi Rips Into Holly on Days of Our Lives!

Tate is on the Kiriakis couch studying out loud. Holly is incredibly annoyed as she is waiting on her grades to be posted. Tate snaps back before becoming the supportive boyfriend. He suggests they get away and have a picnic by the lake, but Holly is aghast.

Holly can’t believe he would suggest such a thing as Sophia jumped into the Salem River. All they would do is think about her. Holly says she hasn’t been right since being off Sophia’s anti-psychotic meds as her moods have been all over the place.

Tate gets Holly on the floor from some deep breathing and relaxation. She lasts about ten seconds before she’s done and wants to be kissed. Just then, Mama Choi comes stomping in and chastises them for their behavior when Sophia is still missing. She says the police are no longer on a mission to rescue Sophia but recover… Tate and Holly say how sorry they are. She believes Tate but doesn’t believe a word that comes out of Holly’s mouth. Holly says she can’t imagine the grief Mama Choi is experiencing but says she was Sophia’s victim not the other way around. As she begins to go off, Tate braces for impact. Holly admits loudly, right in Mama Choi’s face, that she isn’t sorry Sophia is gone because it means the torture she experienced at her hands is no longer.

Tate tries to get everyone to make nice, but Holly will not be stopped. She says Mama Choi is unwilling to acknowledge all the wrongs Sophia committed to ruin her life! Tate tries to stop her again, but Holly says she must say what she feels!

Later, Mama Choi lights into Holly saying she forgot what a bastion of morality she is. She mentions her being drugged up and a little trashy liar. Mama Choi says soon she will be tried for what she did to Sophia in front of her peers and will pay… just as Sarah approaches the door to the living room from the outside. She walks in and tells Mama Choi to stand down. She says she is sorry for her loss but says it’s time for her to leave. Afterwards, Holly dissolves into tears and falls into Tate’s arms.

Jada and Shawn Get Cozy!

Jada and Shawn arrive back at her place and he gets settled in. Shawn experiences some pain and Jada hands him the bottle of pain pills (are we going down this path?). He thinks he needs to go home and grab his stuff. Jada says his stuff is already there as she thought about it in advance. Shawn is tickled to be spoiled but doesn’t want to take advantage of her. Jada takes a seat on the bed and says it’s all good and she wouldn’t necessarily mind if he took advantage of her.

Later, Shawn wants to clarify but Jada says she’s kidding. Shawn thinks that’s too bad…

Johnny and Chanel get home, and he wants to discuss the biopsy, but she tells him not now. He switches to the situation with Lexie and Paulina. They chat a bit before they lie back and simply rest.

Theo Encourages Abe to Go to Paulina

Theo joins Abe as he sits next to a sleeping Lexie. Theo apologizes to his father for keeping the truth from him. Abe says EJ put Theo in an impossible position. Theo says he can’t possibly be mad based on the eventual result.

Kayla arrives and says she got the DNA report back saying the woman in the bed really is Lexie. Theo just knew she was his mother. He wonders what that means when she wakes up. Kayla can’t be sure but says her original brain tumor is gone, and the neurological tests have been solid. She says she has no clue what Lexie has been through, but all signs point to Lexie being back.

Theo encourages his father to go to Paulina. Afterwards, Lexie wakes up but doesn’t seem to recognize her son. He crouches down to get face to face with his mother. Lexie doesn’t believe Theo is her son as her baby is just a boy. Lexie has a hard time believing him until he says it’s 2026 and he is now a man. As she sits contemplating, Theo asks if she remembers about him adjusting to his first-grade school when she told him about a little engine that could and how much that meant to him. With that story, she remembers her baby boy and the two embrace.

Shockingly, EJ Backstabs Gwen on Days of Our Lives

Gwen walks in and meets up with EJ in the DiMera mansion living room. She asks about the status of their experiment. He says the news is both good and bad. Lexie is awake but is actually at University Hospital. They talk about who was running around in the tunnels trying to expose their experiment and Gwen realizes it was Leo!

Gwen is furious about Leo sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. She wonders what they do now. EJ gets it but says all signs point to the drug being a huge success and they can move on to the next step in their plan. Gwen can’t believe EJ is so flippant, but he is certain they will get away with all their nefarious work. She remains worried about them spending several decades in Statesville for their work.

EJ says he has already received a number of inquiries about their drug… to the tune of ten figures. They go back and forth before EJ says their offer is on longer in place and she should take whatever he decides to give Gwen.

Later, Gwen wants to know the new timeline for sale of the drug. He says they need to monitor Lexie so they can prove their success can be repeated.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) Recap: Holly Gets a Nasty Attitude

Chanel is at the Brady Pub talking to Johnny on the phone. He clearly asks about biopsy, and she says she is due to get the results soon. After they end the call, Alex walks in and joins her. She mentions Joy Wesley and says it’s clear congratulations are in order.

Alex and Chanel talk back and forth about Joy, and he says she is staying in town. They chat back and forth a bit more before Chanel makes her exit.

Steve and Kayla walk into Horton Square as they speak about their daughter’s situation. He is going to see her before he heads to work. They shift to the Lexie of it all. Steve knows Abe and Theo are so very excited, but Kayla worries about Paulina.

Marlena Comforts Paulina

Marlena walks into the lobby of University Hospital and runs into Paulina. She asks if Paulina is okay and she says it’s impossible to believe but Lexie is alive… Marlena rightfully has no look of surprise on her face. They go back and forth about the Lexie of it all and Marlena says Paulina did what she had to do. Paulina can’t believe she saw Abe say he loved Lexie.

Marlena can’t imagine how horrible seeing Abe with another woman must have been. Paulina loves Abe and Theo have this amazing and unexpected gift but knows she has lost her husband.

Chanel arrives at the hospital to pick up Johnny when she runs into her mother. Paulina doesn’t even know where to begin… She tells her about Lexie which rightfully stuns Chanel. She realizes Lexie was the dilemma her mother was dealing with all those weeks ago. Paulina can’t believe her husband has another wife he spent so much time with and believes she is now a footnote.

Steve Offers Alex His Support on Days of Our Lives

Steve arrives to see Alex at the apartment to discuss all that Stephanie’s been through. Alex assumes he is there to discuss Joy’s return and Steve confirms. He says Alex didn’t do anything wrong and appreciates how he has stepped up to support Joy and Kelsey. Alex appreciates his words but worries about Stephanie. Steve knows he will take care of his daughter. He knows Alex would do anything for his daughter. Steve says Alex is his son now which also means his new baby girl is a part of them too. He wants to know if there is anything he can do to help (nice scenes!).

Kayla arrives in Marlena’s office to discuss Lexie’s resurrection. Marlena tells her about going to the will reading and the chess set (which she NEVER opened!). She says she is done playing games with Stefano and left it at the mansion.

Marlena notes how close the both of them were to Lexie when they lost her. Kayla agrees and hopes they can all come together. Marlena thinks about all the problems they both had with back from the dead spouses and hopes Paulina is spared from the same fate.

Paulina Sends Abe Back to Lexie

Paulina and Chanel are chatting when Abe walks up and asks to have a private conversation. Paulina goes off about how she is supposed to move forward with him. Abe simply doesn’t know what to do. Paulina says he needs to support his wife and help her recover. Abe says she is his wife too but wonders if their marriage is even legal. They express their love, but Paulina says she wants him to go back to Lexie. Chanel returns and Paulina says she gave Abe permission to go back and be with Lexie. With that she breaks down in tears and Chanel embraces her.

Theo tells Lexie about living in Johannesburg when Abe returns. She can’t believe it’s 2026 and says Abe hasn’t aged a day. She can’t imagine how much she has missed and sees the ring on his finger. Lexie thinks it’s their wedding ring, but Abe admits he re-married.

Sarah arrives in Horton Square when Brady approaches. He tells her about his visit with Rachel and says he didn’t tell her about Sophia. Brady asks her to come home with him, but she is having dinner with Holly. She says Mama Choi called her mother saying Holly drove Sophia to suicide.

Brady says he spoke to Sophia’s father who is really going through it. He asks her to come over after her dinner with Holly and the two kiss.

Holly Gets Nasty With Tate

Holly arrives at the Brady Pub to see Tate. He asks about her finals, but she thinks she failed her last test. She couldn’t concentrate at all thinking about the Sophia and Mama Choi of it all. Tate is certain she did better than she thinks, but Holly thinks she did terribly and it could screw up her life forever.

Tate thinks Holly is overreacting, but she says he doesn’t understand as he’s dropping out of school. Tate pushes back saying it’s not like her life is over… and Holly says not like Sophia. Tate immediately apologizes (but she doesn’t for being an ass about school). Holly says she can’t stop thinking about Sophia and how close they were before everything went south. Tate apologizes as he has to go and makes his exit.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) Recap: Abe and Lexie Reunite

Tate arrives in Horton Square and runs into his dad. Brady wanted to check in to see how he’s feeling about Sophia’s apparent suicide. Tate says there were so many reasons for him to hate her but also notes how much he cared for her when he thought she was pregnant with his baby. Brady thinks Tate should speak to a therapist and he agrees.

Later, Tate says he wants to talk to Mama Choi to try and get her to backdown but Brady tells him to stand down.

Arianna and Liam Seal Their Path Forward With a Kiss on Days of Our Lives

Arianna arrives at Julie’s bookstore to visit Liam. He tells her they are almost done for the day, but she just wants to have a conversation. Arianna says she knows about his charge, reading lessons and his child. She is capable of making her own decisions about whether or not to date him.

Liam says he is no longer involved in his shady stuff, but she should still steer clear of him. Arianna isn’t going anywhere as she kind of likes bad boys. He doesn’t think her mother will be so keen on the idea, but she doesn’t care as it should be up to the two of them. Liam disagrees saying his son gets a vote. Arianna gets it but thinks they shouldn’t involve his son, at least not before they kiss.

Later, Liam forgets he’s at work and kisses Arianna (with tongue!).

Once Again, Philip Comes Through For Gabi

Gabi arrives at the Salem Inn and Philip is dying to hear about the DiMera will reading. She tells him about possibly undead Lexie and he is stunned. Afterwards, he asks about her bombshell, and Gabi indicates she may never get her inheritance. She appreciates everything he did for her, but the DiMeras are demanding hard evidence. Philip thought it might be an issue and returned with samples of Vivian’s handwriting.

Gabi can’t believe how thoughtful Philip is being. He wants her to have closure and every penny she’s owed. She thanks him as knowing Stefan went to his grave married to and loving her means the world. Further, if she does get the money, a huge chunk will go to him as none of this would be possible without him. Philip refuses and he and Gabi embrace.

Gabi says it would bring her so much joy to throw some money his way as he’s already done so much for her. Gabi goes into all the many ways Philip has gone above and beyond to support and love her. She notes how much happiness he’s brought her when he never thought he’d find it again. With that, they get back to kissing.

Later, Gabi says she doesn’t know what he would do without her. Philip says he is head over heels for her and will never have to find out.

Belle Decides to Recuse Herself From Holly’s Case on Days of Our Lives

Belle arrives back at the townhouse to find Marlena reading. She tells her daughter about going to Stefano’s will reading, and she now regrets it. Belle asks what she was left and Marlena says a chess set (which she never actually opened!). Belle asks about it and she says she left it at the mansion. Marlena wants nothing from Stefano in her house.

Belle gets it but thinks her mother must be curious about why he left her the chess set… maybe there’s a message in it (Thank you!). Marlena is certain Stefano was trying to torment her and John and will not give him the satisfaction. Stefano can’t hurt them anymore (or can he?).

Marlena asks about her day, and Belle says she saw Shawn, who should be released soon to Jada’s place. She thinks his decision to move in with Jada is probably all for the best. They move along to talking about the case of Sophia Choi’s apparent suicide. She thinks she should recuse herself and Marlena agrees.

Belle explains about Mama Choi wanting to charge Holly with cyberbullying based on the offensive posts she made. Her dilemma is Tate was the bone of contention between the two young women and he’s family.

Holly Disrespects Sarah!

Sarah meets up with Holly at the Brady Pub. Holly wants to skip the dinner but Sarah says absolutely not. Sarah says she and her grandmother are really worried about her. They know about the message board and have read the posts. Holly would give anything to not have written the posts. She says she wasn’t in her right mind as those drugs were still in her system. Sarah believes her but notes words are weapons and what you post on the internet lives forever!

Later, Holly goes OFF on her aunt saying it sounds like she thinks she belongs in jail. Holly tries to storm off but Sarah takes parent tone and tells her to sit down! Sarah says she loves and supports Holly… but part of support is sometimes telling a person what they don’t want to hear. Holly doesn’t care and storms off.

Lexie’s Return Causes Shockwaves!

The DiMera family rightfully acts like they’ve seen a ghost when Lexie stumbles out from the tunnels and into the living room. Downstairs, Dr Rolf freaks out when he sees Lexie is no longer in her bed.

Abe stutters out Lexie’s name and Theo approaches her, but she basically looks stunned to be alive. EJ walks over and says she should sit down but then falls into his arms (She has amazing leg strength for being immobile for 15 years!)

Lexie is passed out in a chair and Tony heads off to call an ambulance. Abe crouches down and asks if it’s really his long-dead wife. Chad goes to EJ and asks if Lexie was in the pod. Theo says yes and Abe can’t believe he knew. EJ is simply stunned the whole experiment worked.

Kristen mentions the family’s long history of doubles and doppelgängers and wonders why no one is jumping to this conclusion. Gabi, perched by her side, notes the DiMera’s history of bringing folks back from the dead. Kristen gets it and says they need to figure out if Lexie is really Lexie before embracing her with open arms. Tony walks up and says they will need to make sure her claim on the DiMera fortune is accurate. Chad interjects reminding Tony that THEIR SISTER WAS JUST BROUGHT BACK FROM THE DEAD! Kristen, Gabi, EJ, Tony and Chad all go at each other until Theo screams at them to STOP!

Cat arrives on the scene just after Lexie, Theo and Abe left in an ambulance. She asks what happened and Chad mentions Lexie. Tony says she crashed the will reading and Gabi says she stole her thunder. Cat can’t believe it, but Tony questions what she knows about this shocking situation.

Cat says she has no idea what happens in EJ’s private lab. Tony mentions Mark and she says he signed an NDA and couldn’t tell her even if he wanted. Chad is heading off to the hospital while the rest of the DiMeras are staying behind.

EJ finds Dr Rolf and says he heard someone outside and had to hide. When he returned, she was gone. EJ fills him in about her crashing the will reading. He is furious but Dr Rolf reminds him they have made scientific history. Dr Rolf wants to monitor her and is also furious to learn she’s at University Hospital.

Tony returns and says Anna is in shock. Kristen can’t imagine why as she dealt with this same situation. Kristen shoots a look at Gabi and decides to get some fresh air. Gabi and Tony get into it about the will. She says she will fight them in court, but Tony gets a big grin on his face and says she has a proposition for her.

Tony says his proposition is about DiMera. Gabi reminds him of being double crossed the last time. He says Theo has stepped down and Johnny doesn’t have the required experience. Tony notes Gabi is highly qualified and has done the job before. With that, he asks her to be the next CEO of DiMera Enterprises.

Gabi wonders what she will need to give up in exchange for becoming DiMera CEO. Tony says the offer stands whether or not her claim on the inheritance is proven to be true. She can’t imagine running the company that rivals Titan and Tony gets into their previous work together. He says she is the sole reason Titan could go under. Gabi is quite turned off by the reminder, turns down the offer and exits.

Kristen sits outside in the garden when she looks up and sees bloody Sophia emerge from the bushes. She stands up and says no and demands she go away. When she looks up, Sophia is gone. Kristen thinks back to the night Sophia was thrown into the water. In real-time, she says she can’t come back… she’s dead. On cue, Dr Rolf walks up and asks if Kristen is okay. She covers saying she’s upset about Lexie. Dr Rolf thinks she should be celebrating, but Kristen says whomever or whatever they brought back is going to wreak havoc on the lives of those who loved her sister.

Abe and Theo rush into the hospital. Theo asks Kayla how his mother is and she thinks he’s talking about Paulina. Abe corrects her and says it is indeed Lexie of whom they speak. They fill Kayla in who is, rightfully, not surprised where EJ is concerned and assumes this whole experiment is why he bought the hospital in the first place. She heads off to find Lexie and leaves Theo and Abe to wait.

Abe asks Theo how long he has known and he admits quite a while. Abe assumes Lexie’s return is the reason he stepped away from DiMera and Theo confirms. Just then, Paulina walks in confused why she hasn’t been filled in on who was brought into the hospital. Abe says they think it’s Lexie. She doesn’t have the huge reaction she should, but Abe doesn’t notice because Kayla returns to the room. She says Lexie is stable but doesn’t know when or if she will awaken. Theo thinks his father should sit with his mother and Paulina says he should be with his… wife.

Paulina asks Theo how long he knew and he admits it has been weeks and apologizes for not saying anything. She figured he knew when Theo said Lexie was the reason he was stepping down from DiMera. Theo is stunned when Paulina admits she also knew his mother was alive. She fills him in on how she found out and why she had to stay silent. Theo hates that EJ put that choice on her. He assures her everything will work out as it should before heading off to give a DNA sample.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) Recap: The DiMeras Gather For Stefano’s FINAL Will Reading!

Chad runs into Leo at the hospital. He confirms Lexie is alive and Leo can’t wait to get to writing. Chad demands he keep quiet but promises him The Spectator exclusive when and if it’s confirmed.

Leo listens close by as EJ arrives and Cat says Lexie is stable. He asks her to keep any information from getting out to the public. Chad jumps in and says he wants Cat kept out of any of his brother’s illegal activities. Cat speaks up saying she isn’t being asked to do anything illegal. EJ thinks Chad should be thanking him for bringing back their sister. Chad says EJ isn’t God, despite what he thinks and hopes he is ready for the repercussions of his actions.

Kayla approaches and says they are still running tests on Lexie, including verifying her identity. She takes EJ off to the side and says his actions are immoral and depraved. Kayla knows his only motivation is to make money off his miracle drug. EJ reminds her of how many rules were broken when the drug was originally procured to save her brother Bo (well played).

Cat approaches EJ and he asks if she has any idea who was skulking around the tunnels. Chad walks up and Leo interrupts saying it was him in the tunnels. EJ goes after Leo, but Chad intercedes. He says Leo was doing his job and EJ should back down.

Later, Cat tells Leo he didn’t have to take the fall and then realizes she is going to owe him a favor.

Chad asks EJ if the woman who showed up today is really their sister. EJ says it is which leads Chad to ask if the same could be done for Abigail, if they ever find her. EJ apologizes but says special precautions were taken with Lexie and there is no hope for Abigail…

Abe sits next to Lexie and says how much he’s missed her. He can’t believe it’s been almost fifteen years since they lost her. Abe takes Lexie’s hand and asks if this is really happening. He shakes and cries as he kisses her hand and Lexie’s eyes open and she says his name and tells him she loves him. Paulina watches from the door as Abe says he loves her, too.

The two also stressed how much they value Walton and can’t wait to continue celebrating her 40th anniversary as the nail tech vixen turned business maven, Jill Abbott. Both McDonald and Griffith told the site:

Jess Walton is an enduring cornerstone of Y&R. We look forward to welcoming her back to Genoa City as her schedule permits and celebrating her extraordinary 40th anniversary as the iconic Jill Abbott.

Koslow’s visit to Genoa City will also reunite her with current and former DAYS co-stars Stacy Haiduk (Patty Williams) and Billy Flynn (Cane Ashby). Koslow still remains on DAYS as Kate Brady, and her filming at Y&R won’t affect her tenure on DAYS.

Look for Koslow’s first airdate as Jill on June 25.

The DiMera Family and Friends Arrive For Stefano’s FINAL Will Reading

Chad arrives at the DiMera mansion just as Cat walks up.

Theo is rehearsing his speech when Cat walks in to make sure he has everything he needs. Chad arrives next and Theo says he’s freaked out by public speaking.

Anna and Tony walk in the mansion, and she is annoyed by Stefano’s continued farewell tour. Tony promises this will be his father’s very last goodbye. He is certain a healthy inheritance will assuage her annoyance. She wonders if passing on anything of Stefano’s is really a good thing.

Tony asks for a moment alone with Theo and Anna and Chad head off for a snack. Left alone, Tony asks why Theo resigned from DiMera. He says he was doing a wonderful job and impressed with his leadership. Theo says Johnny is doing fine but Tony disagrees. Had he wanted Johnny installed as CEO, he would have backed Johnny. He wonders what EJ held over his head to make him quit. Tony and Theo argue as Abe walks in and wonders where everyone is.

Cat is outside picking flowers in the garden when she runs into Leo with a pair of binoculars. Leo lies saying he is bird watching. Cat says he is trespassing, but Leo says he works for Chadwick who may soon own the whole shebang. Cat says Chad doesn’t want him airing out his family’s dirty laundry. Leo is fascinated Cat is more interested in protecting his boss than her own. Cat says she needs to get back inside but will not bail him out if he is caught snooping. Just then, Rita walks by without spotting Leo. He wonders from whence she came.

EJ and Rita are standing over Lexie in her bed. EJ asks about the codicil, but Rita says Dr Rolf is the only person who knows anything about it. She hopes the good doctor didn’t convince Stefano to leave everything to him. She asks if Dr Rolf will be making an appearance, but EJ says he needs to remain hidden for now.

Rita wonders what happens if this project doesn’t succeed and they are left with an unusable product. EJ says they keep going as DiMeras never quit. Just then, EJ gets a call, afterwards he tells Rita a charter plane has landed in Salem from Alamania.

EJ emerges from the tunnels just after Cat arrives in the living room with fresh flowers. He thanks her for all her help and support. In the foyer, Chad lets Rita in as she pretends to arrive. As they move towards the living room, Chad overhears Cat and EJ discussing their next dinner date and him promising her dessert. With that, EJ heads off to handle things in the kitchen.

Abe and Theo are back in the living room. Abe says he is in attendance as Lexie’s representative as she would never have wanted her son to work for DiMera Enterprises. That being said, she would have wanted him to collect his fair share of the DiMera pie. He knows just how proud she would be of the man he has become.

Anna runs into Tony who has Rita on his arm. She is more than irritated to watch her husband with his work wife. Chad approaches and Anna notes how Rita has always had designs on her Tony.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) Recap: Kristen Receives a Nightmarish Visit From Sophia!

Kristen runs into Marlena in Horton Square. She just came from seeing Rachel and is perturbed she was kept from her in the first place. Marlena hopes Rachel inherits her father’s kindness and not the DiMera evil streak. Kristen notes Marlena’s family tree has quite a few bad apples and shouldn’t be so quick to down her people. They go back and forth for a while when Kristen says she will never understand what her father or John saw in her. Afterwards, Kristen says she is off to the will reading as Stefano’s only living daughter who is able to attend (which sends Marlena into a flashback about Lexie). Kristen pushes Marlena to come but she isn’t interested. Kristen is stunned, after all these years, Marlena is still scared to face Stefano on her own.

Cat is skulking around the tunnels. She is about to enter a room when she hears a noise and is surprised when she sees Leo. He says he entered where he saw Rita exit. She lies saying she was getting wine for the festivities upstairs. They chat a bit more when Leo says Dimitri once told him Cat was an ISA agent. He immediately dismissed the possibility but now believes it’s true… and Cat’s face betrays her.

Later, Cat laughs at Leo’s assertion she is a member of the ISA. Cat over explains how she has to protect her family, but Leo doesn’t care. He says they can work together to figure out what Leo is hiding. Just then, they both hear a noise and head towards it to investigate.

The family begin to gather in the DiMera living room (Hello Harold!). Chad asks Kristen about Rachel and she appreciates him asking. She seems genuinely happy when he asks to see her. Just then, EJ announces the will reading will begin momentarily. He says they may have another guest as a jet has recently touched down from Alamania.

Everyone takes their seat as Theo takes the stage. He begins reading the will… Stefano says this will reading is different from every other because it’s final as he is really gone. EJ acts like a petulant child as Theo says Stefano wants to pass on his legacy. He notes he was mad executor of the will, which thrills everyone.

Theo continues to read saying Stefano has chosen him as the executor as he trusts the fine young man to not cause strife amongst siblings. EJ says the assertion is ridiculous and Theo says “no it isn’t.” Everyone looks at Theo who says he is simply reading from the script. Everyone laughs as Kristen notes just how well their father knows EJ. Theo continues with Stefano’s quips. Tony notes he knows their father is dead, but it feels like he is right there with them (Hmmmm…).

With that, Theo moves onto the estate… it will be equally divided amongst the siblings. If siblings are deceased with no beneficiaries, as is the case for Andre, Renee, Stefan (but Gabi is a possible exception), Jake and Peter, their shares will return to the estate to be divided amongst the siblings. He says the estate includes his money, along with other commercial holdings, islands, Maison Blanche and Melaswen. Assets can be sold but only if there is a unanimous vote. Just then, the doorbell rings and Harold is told to grab the door. EJ assumes the other shoe is about to drop.

Marlena walks in and says she changed her mind about attending the festivities. Theo continues and Stefano gives thanks to Harold, Dr Rolf and Rita for whom he has purchased homes in their cities of choice upon their retirement. Next, his final bequest, for his pawn John Black and his Queen of the Night, Dr Marlena Evans. A box is delivered to Marlena and inside she finds what appears to be a chess game. Marlena thanks Theo but officially declines the gift and walks out (but she didn’t actually open it).

Theo continues as he reads Stefano’s wishes for the siblings to get along and wage peace in the family. He tells them to remember DiMeras are not born to serve but to lead. He wants them to live their lives as he did, with vim and vigor. Long live the House of DiMera! Just then, the doorbell rings again and Harold grabs the door. Gabi walks in and asks if she is late (Yesssss!).

The siblings wonder why the hell Gabi is there. She says Philip just returned from Alamania who saw Ivan. EJ gets snarky but Gabi continues saying Ivan admitted Vivian forged Stefan’s signature on their divorce papers. Therefore, she is entitled to Stefan’s share of the DiMera estate… cha-ching!

Later, EJ goes to Rita and asks her to investigate if Gabi’s assertions are true. Kristen congratulates Gabi and says she is a woman after her own heart… but smells a fraud. Theo promises to take Gabi’s assertion seriously. Chad also backs her up, considering her source. EJ takes over and decides they should raise a glass to Stefano. Just then, Lexie emerges from the tunnels!!!!!

Justin Learns He Has a New Grandchild

Justin and Alex meet up at the Kirakis mansion. Justin tells his son he’s there to try and convince Titan to drop the lawsuit against Johnny and DiMera. Alex agrees with his father but says Kate and Xander won’t budge. Justin wants to protect Bonnie and Alex says he will always have his father’s back. Alex changes the topic and says, by the way, he has another grandchild.

Alex says he took one look at Kelsey, and she immediately had his heart. Justin is glad Joy didn’t keep Alex from his child for too long as Angelica did to him. He thanks God everyday he gets to be Alex’ daddy and the two embrace. Justin and Alex talk about their lives together and how much Adrianne embraced him, just as he knows Stephanie will for Kelsey.

Jada Advises Stephanie to be Honest With Alex on Days of Our Lives

Jada arrives to see Stephanie to see how she’s doing. Stephanie says she is a hot mess. She catches Jada up on all the latest about Joy’s return and Jeremy’s exit. Alex is thrilled but Stephanie is in hell.

Stephanie worries Alex is now forever numbered to Joy. Jada notes only as co-parents as she is the woman Alex loves. Stephanie gets it but says it’s the worst possible time. She doesn’t even know if she wants to be a mother, much less to another woman’s child. Stephanie doesn’t know if she can handle the situation but doesn’t know how to tell Alex. Jada tells her not to worry how it sounds but simply to tell the truth.

Gabi and Arianna Spar Over Liam

Gabi is enjoying her coffee at the Hernandez House when Arianna arrives home from the dorms. She says she is only moving home for the summer and knows her mother wants to chat about Liam. They immediately get into it, and Gabi will not be silenced.

Arianna says her mother is overreacting, especially since she and Liam aren’t in a relationship. Gabi goes off about Arianna hiding Liam in her dorm room and the danger he is exposing her to. Gabi can’t believe her daughter continues to defend this criminal. Arianna flips the script and says it’s very similar to what her mother did everyday with Stefan.

Gabi can’t believe Arianna would go so low and says she knows nothing about Stefan. She goes on and says Liam is a criminal who can’t read and she is to stay away from him or else.

Roman Doubts Kate on Days of Our Lives

Roman returns from visiting Johnny and updates Kate on his condition. He says he ran into Marlena at the hospital and Kate braces herself. He brings up the plagiarism lawsuit and how Marlena believes Johnny when he says she set him up. She asks about proof and Roman says Marlena’s gut says it’s so. Kate is thrilled to know he trusts Marlena’s gut more than her word.

Roman really wants to believe his wife but thinks there is so much evidence otherwise. Kate inquires and Roman mentions the deal at Basic Black which has clearly gone south. Kate says to ask Marlena as Xander is the one who told her she was less than enthused. Roman says it’s all because of the lawsuit against Johnny, which she still won’t drop! Kate, again, says it’s all out of her hands. Roman says she is hurting HIS family. Kate always assumed his family was her family, as well. With that, she storms off.

Roman confirms they are family and he loves her, even the parts of her which infuriate him. There is so much about her that he respects but also knows what she is capable of when pushed into a corner. It hasn’t escaped him that what happened to Johnny benefits her son’s company. They decide not to argue in front of the company and Roman heads out to get some air.

Mama Choi and Johnny Make Peace on Days of Our Lives

Johnny awakens from his slumber in his hospital bed to find Mama Choi standing over his bed. She says how sorry she is for what Sophia did to him. He says she doesn’t owe him an apology. Mama Choi says she does as she and her husband didn’t let themselves see how much their daughter was hurting and is grateful, he’s going to be okay. Johnny says he is sorry for her loss, but Mama Choi believes their daughter is still alive and will be found.

Johnny knows Sophia blamed him for all her problems and he apologizes. She accepts but notes it is difficult to let go of her anger. Mama Choi asks that her grandson grow up not hating Sophia. He promises to tell Trey his mother loved him and did what she thought was best. Further, Johnny says she is more than welcome to come visit Trey whenever she wants. Before she leaves, Mama Choi hands Johnny the picture of Trey that Sophia swiped from his apartment, but he wants her to keep it.

Chanel pushes Little T through Horton Square when she runs her stroller into another. She is shocked and annoyed to see Joy and her baby. She introduces Chanel to Kelsey, who immediately asks about the daddy. He explains about Joy’s return and says his daughter is six months old. Joy says it’s Alex, who now knows about his child. She explains why didn’t tell Alex and why she now thinks she misjudged the situation, leading to her return. Chanel asks if Joy is staying in Salem and she confirms. They go back and forth a bit more before Chanel tells Joy she isn’t her friend nor Johnny’s and to stay out of her way and of their lives.

Arianna runs into Mama Choi in Horton Square. Arianna feels awful about what happened to Sophia as they were friends. Mama Choi notes how inseparable the two were as kids. Until Arianna turned on her over the past few years. Arianna says no one knew how much she was hurting or how sick Sophia was. Mama Choi admits she didn’t either but will stand up for her daughter now and get justice for her.

Chanel arrives at the hospital with Little T in tow. Johnny is thrilled to see his wife and son. They chat a bit about crashing with Paulina and Abe for a bit. Chanel shifts and updates him about her encounter with Joy and her baby.

Later, Johnny tells Chanel about the visit from Mama Choi and the guilt he feels over the entire situation. They chat a bit more before Chanel gets a message saying her biopsy is scheduled for the next day…

Joy walks into the Brady Pub and immediately runs into Kate and they embrace. She says Alex is the baby’s daddy and admits it’s a long story. Just then, Stephanie walks in and she and Joy have an awkward conversation about Alex and Kelsey. Stephanie says hello to the baby and gets out of there as fast as she can.

Later, Kate offers to fix up her old room upstairs and Joy is thrilled. She says Kate is the only person who has been nice to her. Kate says they are both survivors.

In the square, Alex runs into Stephanie and wants to take her for lunch. She bites her tongue and the two head to The Bistro.

Gabi arrives at the Kiriakis mansion as Justin is making his exit. Gabi and Alex sit down, and he tells her all about baby Kelsey and his worries about Stephanie. Gabi just knows everything will be okay and believes Alex will be a great father. She says, when it comes to co-parenting, everything has to be about baby Kelsey.

Later, Gabi calls Philip who says he has a surprise for her.

Roman and Kate are at the pub. He is going to visit Johnny at the hospital but wants Kate to stay behind. They talk a bit about their family issues before Kate tells Roman to give her best to Johnny.

Marlena is visiting Johnny at the hospital, and she thanks God he’s okay. He is more worried about Chanel and their baby. Marlena asks if something else is going on and promises to keep it in confidence. He says Chanel was there for an appointment about a lump that is probably cancer. They talk a bit more then turn to the Sophia of it all.

Marlena says she ran into Sophia after the adoption hearing when she was all too upset. Chad is more worried about what they will tell Trey when it comes to his birth parents. At the same time, he is happy Sophia is gone.

Marlena heads to the hospital lobby and runs into Roman, who asks about Johnny. She thinks he will lift their grandson’s spirits. They chat about Kate and Roman believes her story whilst Marlena does not.

Theo Wishes EJ Hadn’t Resurrected His Mother

Marlena is back in her office when Theo arrives for another appointment. She asks if there has been another change in his mother’s condition. He says Lexie has shown signs of purposeful movement. That beyond said, Dr Rolf is a lot less optimistic. He wonders if she’ll even be the same person. Marlena guides him to stay in the present and not think about things about which he has no control. Theo doesn’t know how and recalls always wishing for just one more moment. He also notes all the turmoil her return will cause. Part of him wishes EJ hadn’t tried to bring his mother back at all. After a bit more discussion, Theo says he has somewhere he needs to be.

Later, Theo mentions the will reading and how Marlena was invited. He isn’t looking forward to lying to his family’s faces about his mother. Marlena offers to support him, but Theo says Abe will be there and he is capable of handling the pressure.

Johnny Thinks His Days at DiMera Might Be Numbered on Days of Our Lives

Roman joins Johnny by his hospital bed. They note Kate’s flowers by his bed which makes Roman say she was trying to make nice, but Johnny thinks it’s about setting him up for a plagiarism fall! Roman says Kate continues to deny any wrongdoing and Johnny hates causing problem in his marriage. He thinks they should table the discussion for a day. Roman offers the room at the pub if they need a place to stay while the fire damage is being repaired.

Later, Johnny says he is cleared to go back to work. He notes it might not be for long because Tony is on the way back and none too happy with him.

EJ’s Callous Comments Enrage Chad!

Chad walks in as EJ sits in the hospital lobby. He wonders if his brother has been there all night and EJ confirms. Chad is glad Johnny made it out in one piece, but EJ notes it’s no thanks to Sophia.

EJ makes light of Sophia’s possible suicide which sets Chad off… but EJ doesn’t give a damn. He thinks the world is a better place without her in it. EJ can’t believe Chad is grieving Sophia’s loss when she tormented his family. Chad says celebrating a death is nothing he would ever do. He brings up Abigail and how he thinks it’s possible EJ has resurrected her. Chad goes on to mention talking to Theo which freaks out EJ.

Theo and Cat Discuss The Possible Will Reading Hijinks

Cat and Theo are in the square talking about the will reading. She wonders if he knows why he has been appointed the new executor of the will. Theo has no clue but notes he has a letter to unseal and read at the festivities. He can’t wait until this role is over and done.

Cat says she was warned Stefano’s will reading would be filled with surprises. She asks if he thinks there is something new that will impact how the estate is divided up. He says there is something afoot but can’t provide her the details. She makes a joke out of the cloak and dagger of it all and Theo says she should simply get ready for the crazy!

Kristen Gets a Nightmarish Visit From Sophia on Days of Our Lives

Kristen sits in the DiMera mansion looking at a Spectator story about Sophia. Just then, a bloody Sophia enters and Kristen wonders why she looks like she saw a ghost. Kristen knows she was knocked out cold, but Sophia says her mother had her in swimming lessons since she was in diapers… which is why she was able to swim to shore alive. Kristen goes OFF asking what the hell Sophia wants from her.

Sophia says Kristen is a very powerful woman and wonders what more she wants. Even Sophia has to admit the move Kristen made against her is pretty bad ass. She says since she is now dead, no one can actually connect her to what happened to Johnny.

Kristen says Sophia played this situation all wrong and will silence her permanently. Bloody Sophia simply wants Kristen to help her disappear. Kristen says Sophia made a big mistake coming there and will never get her support, ever! Kristen tells Sophia she will choose herself at all times. Before Kristen can end Sophia, EJ approaches, awaking her from her dream state.

Kristen talks about her nightmare and how sad she is for Sophia. EJ has no time for her false words and immediately accuses his sister of setting up Johnny’s death. He thinks it is the ultimate betrayal and notes how their father would have cursed her very existence.

Later, Kristen says her beef is with her brother and not her nephew. EJ thinks she was paying him back for his role in Rachel’s institutionalizing. EJ says if another hair on Johnny’s hair is harmed, he will know just whom to blame and deal with.

Cat runs into Chad in Horton Square and they exchange awkward hellos. They move along to discussing the Johnny/Sophia situation. Then move along to discussing her. He asks what’s new and she flashes back to kissing EJ. In real-time, she says nothing major has happened in his absence. They chat a bit more and share a cute moment before agreeing to see each other at the will reading.

Stephanie has a gun… Alex awakens and sees a text about the paternity test… which is a match. Julie arrives on the scene saying Jeremy is gone to New York and asks Stephanie if she understands why. Stephanie explains everything, including the kiss. Julie gets it but tries her best to explain the best part of Jeremy’s actions.

Alex decides to exit, leaving Stephanie and Julie to hash things out. Stephanie explains how Jeremy brought Joy back to break up her marriage. Julie begins to flashback to a prior time where her life was very similar…

Philip Tells Gabi About His Long Lost Child

Philip awakens to find Gabi already doing work. Gabi admits she’s looking into Liam and her daughter’s relationship and can’t believe she fell for this loser. Philip questions Gabi’s motives and notes she might be overreaching. Philip says Arianna is headstrong and her mothering might harm what she’s trying to accomplish. Gabi gets angry and Philip decides to go back to sleep. Philip admits he was only trying to be helpful and wonders when she’s last thought about her life as a teenager. Gabi admits she made mistakes but that she learned from them. Philip finally admits he has a kid out there… Gabi is surprised to learn he and Belle were randomly doing IVF when a mixup happened with Mimi… the result was a child named Tyler. The result was him and Mimi signing over their parental rights… He hopes one day they might meet. Gabi apologizes for hurting his feelings. Philip gets it but admits she isn’t wrong about certain Salem foolishness.

Later, Philip says he is going on a quick business trip “across the pond” later that day. Gabi takes the opportunity to wish him safe travels in her own special way.

Mama Choi Wants Holly Prosecuted For Cyberbullying on Days of Our Lives!

Tate, Holly and Arianna are trying to find Sophia. Just then, Tate gets a call to let him know Sophia is gone. Tate says they found Sophia’s backpack and it seems like Sophia jumped into the river. Tate begins to tear up as Arianna and Holly worry about their last words with Sophia.

Tate can’t stop trying to defend Sophia and what her original intentions were. He begins to cry and blames himself for Sophia thinking he was interested in her. Arianna watches as Holly embraces her boyfriend. They both try to help Tate and Holly says Sophia died by suicide because of her own issues… Holly goes on until Mama Choi walks up and says they are ALL to blame!

Mama Choi arrives at the police station and Jada tells her it’s likely her daughter is gone. Jada asks for anything that could confirm her DNA. They go back and forth until Mama Choi says her daughter would still be with her if it weren’t for that evil Holly Jonas.

Mama Choi reviews all of the horror show that surrounded her daughter. She thinks about how everyone turned against her and how alone she must have felt. Jada pushes Mama Choi who says she loves her daughter. She asks Jada if there is any chance her daughter is still alive. Jada says, until they have a body, there’s always hope… but it’s also likely she’s dead.

Holly tries to push back when Mama Choi pulls out the suicide note. She points out how Holly and Arianna are involved and says they are responsible for her daughter’s likely death. She says they bullied her daughter into wanting to take her own life. With that, Holly flashes back to her very harsh words. In real time, Mama Choi pulls out her phone and says her evil words are right there in black and white. She says cyber bullying is a crime and will make sure Holly pays.

Alex Asks Joy to Stay in Salem

Joy awakens at the Salem Inn when Kelsey gets fussy. She goes to her daughter and says she is going to help her settle into Salem. Baby Kelsey falls asleep when Joy gets a call from Jeremy. He says he’s moving back to New York, and she wonders if their luck will be better.

Alex arrives at the Brady Pub and tells Joy he knows he is Kelsey’s daddy. They talk about Joy’s future… she says she has no life in NYC and is down for staying in Salem. Alex is good with it but can’t control Stephanie’s reaction.

Alex goes on and on about the kidnapping of it all which shocks Joy. She hates that she even showed up… but Alex says he’s glad she arrived.

Alex comes home with coffee and asks about Julie. Stephanie is avoidant but thinks Julie gets why Joy is sticking around. Alex says he got the DNA back and says Joy is sticking around on town.

Later, Joy takes Kelsey back to their room saying what a great day it is because her daddy wants to get to know her!

EJ Learns Johnny Is in Crisis

Cat is trying to bring EJ out of his distraction at Small Bar when Kristen enters. He comes around and apologizes for fretting about the upcoming will reading. EJ is awaiting the other shoe to drop from his dearly departed father. Kristen sits behind Cat and EJ and flashes back to her last few days with Sophia. She smiles and tells her former conspirator to rest in peace.

Kristen wonders why EJ hasn’t been called about Johnny. Just then, EJ gets a call from Chanel telling him about Johnny being in the hospital. He updates Cat and rushes out, leaving Kristen with a big smile on her face.

Cat approaches Kristen and tells her about Johnny. Kristen asks if Johnny is still alive and Cat confirms he is still with them. Kristen thanks Cat for the information and quickly heads to the hospital.

Leo sits in Horton Square when he gets an alert about the gas leak at Johnny and Chanel’s apartment. He grabs his computer and runs towards University Hospital.

Leo Rushes to the Hospital to Check on Little T on Days of Our Lives!

Javi passes out in front of Sarah in the hospital lobby as she calls out for assistance.

Jada is working with her officers about trying to find Sophia in the hospital lobby when Leo arrives on the scene. He asks about Little T and Jada says he was not the victim but cannot offer up more info on the situation. Leo becomes infuriated and decides to find more information on his own.

Javi is in an exam room and giggles about being a patient when Sarah comes to check on him. He says his head is pounding and he’s a wee queasy. Sarah notes how much methane he inhaled… just then, Leo walks in asking if he’s okay.

Leo gets all Leo about himself before asking if Javi is okay. Sarah goes to exit but Javi doesn’t want to be left alone with Leo (really?). They go back and forth before Javi agrees and Sarah reluctantly exits.

Leo continues to ramble on as Javi simply tries to breathe. As Leo goes on and on about how Javi is the man for him, his beloved stops him and says he doesn’t know how many other ways to say he has a boyfriend… and basically accuses Leo of stalking him. Leo pushes back saying he heard the news and rushed over to check on Little T, as a result, he found out about Javi.

Javi tries to get Leo to leave (sort of) but he refuses. Leo asks for details and Javi says he saved Johnny, who is going to be just fine. Just then, Paulina arrives with Little T in tow. She thought she was strolling into Johnny’s room, but the former beloveds are thrilled to see their godson. Leo speaks in Spanish to Little T which both annoys and impresses Javi, much to his chagrin. Paulina tells Little T how Javi saved his daddy’s life. They talk back and forth a bit when she says how heroic Javi was. Paulina goes on to say how she wishes she could get her hands on Sophia. Javi and Leo are both surprised before she explains who was actually behind the nefarious events of the evening. With that, she heads out with Little T to get him to his parents. Afterwards, Leo asks what the hell happened between Johnny and Sophia.

Javi explains a bit about what happened and why he stormed into Johnny and Chanel’s place. Leo chokes back tears when he says Javi is a hero. Javi, who finally smiles, thanks Leo but doesn’t think his boss will believe the same. Leo does his best not to overstep, swallows his tears, before saying he can’t imagine what he would do if anything ever happened to Javi.

Later, Javi thanks Leo for his concern, but… he can’t continue having these encounters with him. Leo looks like he is about to die when Sarah returns to discuss test results. Leo swallows his feelings and tells Javi to take care of himself before reluctantly taking his leave. Afterwards, Sarah tells Javi it does get easier (but does it as there are no other gay people in Salem?).

Chanel Comforts Johnny Whilst Also Telling Him About Her Test Results

Chanel sits at Johnny’s bedside when he says Sophia tried to kill him. Chanel has no clue how terrified her beloved must have been. Johnny describes what he remembers and notes how he can’t believe how calculated and evil Sophia actually was. The only thing he could think about was how he might never see Chanel again nor watch his kids grow up… which sends Chanel into a flashback about her upcoming biopsy and likely malignancy. In real-time, Chanel says Johnny MUST be there for Trey and Quatro… Johnny follows up saying so does she. He notes her mood and asks what’s wrong. Chanel simply says she loves him and doesn’t understand Sophia’s motivation. Johnny says she was getting revenge for initially backing out of the adoption and for ruining his life. Just then, EJ storms in and wraps his arms around his son.

Once EJ is informed of all the details, he calls Sophia a deranged little gutter snipe and says she is about to learn about DiMera revenge. Johnny doesn’t want to escalate things and says he is fine and his son is safe. He just wants to take a moment to celebrate everyone being safe. EJ backs down and thanks Chanel for calling him. Just then, Jada enters and wants to ask him a few questions and he agrees. With that, EJ walks out and Jada tells Johnny and Chanel about Sophia’s suicide note.

Johnny tells Jada about what happened with Sophia and how backing out of the adoption was the impetus for everything. He understands, if she intended on taking her own life, it makes sense why she didn’t care about his. They talk a bit more before Jada says she will be back in touch and makes her exit. Afterwards, Johnny asks again why she was at the hospital. She explains a last-minute mammogram appointment came up, and he asks about the results. She begins to explain when Paulina arrives with Little T in tow.

Later, Chanel and Johnny thank Paulina for bringing Little T to them before taking him home. Afterwards, Johnny gets back to the mammogram. Chanel says Sarah has put a rush on the results. She hesitates before saying Sarah thinks the cancer has returned.

EJ and Kristen Accuse Each Other of Wrongdoing on Days of Our Lives 

EJ returns to the hospital lobby and immediately asks his sister why the hell she is there. EJ questions why she cares, and she says Johnny is family and asks if he was badly hurt. EJ says Johnny is going to be fine but the same can’t be said for Sophia Choi. EJ explains everything about the events of the evening and Kristen is actually surprised wondering why she didn’t just shoot Johnny! They go back and forth a bit more and both thank heavens Johnny survived.

Jada and EJ go back and forth in the hospital lobby about Sophia. Kristen speaks up saying the whole situation is sad and also blames Johnny for the initial adoption debacle of it all. EJ jumps in saying Kristen isn’t exactly free and clear when it comes to Sophia.

Later, EJ notes how Kristen was defending Sophia to him in the square the other day. She notes how Rachel befriended her daughter at Bayview, which tickles EJ… Kristen can’t believe EJ is trying to pin this situation on her when Leo walks up to remind everyone, they should be peaceful. Just then, Jada gets a call and tells her people to drag the Salem River. Afterwards, she tells EJ the police found her backpack and a shoe but no body but the evidence indicates Sophia acted on her note…

Rafe sits alone at his place when Cat calls about the Johnny of it all. Rafe says the coast is clear and she says she is on her way. Later, Cat arrives at the Hernandez House to find out what the hell went down. Cat is thankful Johnny is okay and Rafe says he loves that boy like a son. Cat wonders if there is anything to do and Rafe says he hopes they find Sophia before anything drastic happens, and mentions the suicide note.

Later, Rafe questions Cat about being on a date with EJ. Cat says she is simply trying to do her job.

On today’s Days of Our Lives recap:

Mama Choi Finds Sophia’s Suicide Note

Sophia is reading what she’s just written, which seems to be a suicide note. Just then, Mama Choi walks in saying she is making her favorite meal in celebration of her return home. They embrace and Sophia holds onto her mother for dear life. Mama Choi asks if Sophia wants to help her cook, but she says she is going to meet up with someone. Sophia lies saying she is meeting up with a student who is going to help her apply to the University of Chicago. Before her mother exits, Sophia apologizes to her mother for all the grief she brought her family. Sophia begins to cry as she tells her mother how much she appreciates all her love and support. Mama Choi thanks the Lord above they were given a second chance (these two are really good together). Just then, the doorbell app goes off on Sophia’s phone indicating someone has arrived. Sophia panics when she hears it’s Jada and Brady there to question her.

Mama Choi escorts Brady and Jada upstairs where they find an empty room and an open window. Jada searches the house and then exits when it’s obvious Sophia has vacated the premises. Brady is left behind with Mama Choi when he finds the picture of Little T and Mama Choi finds the suicide note.

Jada returns as Mama Choi is rightfully freaking out and Brady tells her about the suicide note. Jada calls in a BOLO for Sophia.

Holly Wishes Sophia Was Dead on Days of Our Lives

Tate and Holly meet up in Horton Square. She is a little stressed with finals and finding a new internship. Holly notes how blah she is feeling, even though the anti-psychotic meds are slowly leaving her system.

Holly talks a bit about registration for the next semester. Tate hesitates and tells her that he is dropping out of college. He says he now has a vision and wants to become a personal trainer. Holly understands but is bummed they won’t be sharing the college experience together.

Sophia emerges into the square and yells at Holly for what she wrote online. Holly digs in and says she wrote the truth. When Tate tries to stop her, Holly says she is sick of Sophia playing the victim. The two light into one another when Sophia notes Holly wished her dead. Holly says she meant every word and hopes the hate never ends. She is also glad Johnny and Chanel got her baby, so he is never subjected to his insane mother. Holly continues saying a part of her wishes she were dead. Sophia looks as if she’s been stabbed in the gut, blows Holly a kiss and walks away.

Tate calms Holly down saying Sophia will be going to Bayview or prison very soon. He looks uncomfortable with Holly’s talk of Sophia’s death but says she has every right to feel how she feels.

Chanel Likely Has Cancer

Sarah finds Chanel’s room empty and calls her to come back for the additional imaging. She runs into Chanel in the lobby who had been at the chapel. She worries she hasn’t heard from Johnny as it isn’t like him to not at least text back.

Chanel wonders what happens if she has cancer and Sarah says she will support her every step of the way. She says radiology is reading the films now. Later, Sarah returns with the news the lump is most likely malignant.

Previous Days of Our Lives (DAYS) Recap: Will Sophia Make Johnny Go BOOM?

Javi Saves Johnny on Days of Our Lives!

Chanel goes to blow out the candle just as the explosion happens! Johnny comes out of his haze as he was daydreaming (or having day terrors) about the possibility of such a terrible tragedy. Johnny looks over and finds the tea light burning down next to Sophia’s accelerant.

Javi and someone else from the firehouse are checking the apartment building for a possible gas leak. Javi wants to stop at Johnny and Chanel’s since his godson lives there. He smells something strange and bangs on the door. He calls out to Johnny, who responds with a barely audible, “help me.”

Javi breaks down the door and begins to cut Johnny’s ties. He looks over and sees the burning tea light next to the cup. He rushes over as the entire concoction catches fire. Javi notices the emerging fire sits just beyond the kitchen door and shuts it to block the fumes. He finishes untying Johnny and yells out for backup as he needs to search the place for Chanel and Little T.

Chanel and Sarah plan for her upcoming biopsy when Javi and company rush Johnny in with Methane exposure. They wheel Johnny away and Javi returns to update Chanel. He asks about Little T who is safely with Lani in Chicago. Chanel asks for details on Johnny and Javi, who is growing tired, says he thinks someone was trying to kill him.

Sarah is examining Johnny when he awakens. She says he will feel better soon and asks about the lacerations on his wrists. Johnny confirms and she asks who tried to hurt him. He says, Sophia Choi.

Chanel enters Johnny’s room and he is confused as to why she is there. He freaks out a bit before Chanel says Trey is with Lani but doesn’t want to provide details about her reasons for being at the hospital.

Later, Jada and Brady see Holly and Tate and ask if they’ve seen Sophia. Tate tells them about the run-in and how upset she was. Brady goes into detail about being at Sophia’s house and the suicide note they found. Jada gets a call from Sarah who tells her about Johnny implicating Sophia in his attempted murder. Javi almost stumbles into the lobby and collapses right in front of Sarah.

Kristen Double Crosses Sophia

Kristen is skulking around the Salem River waiting for Sophia. She arrives late and complains about the difficulty in finding the location. Kristen says it’s exactly why she chose it and notes the lack of security cameras. Kristen asks about Johnny and Sophia pulls out the gun and tosses it into the river. She asks for money and a fake passport in payment. Kristen tells Sophia to slow down as she needs to make it look like she jumped in the river to take her own life. Kristen asks about the note and Sophia says it’s surely been found by now. Kristen notes Sophia’s tears and is more than annoyed when she says how much she is going to miss her family. Sophia pulls herself together and thanks Kristen for everything. Kristen tells her to throw her shoes in and afterwards to grip the railing in case the police check for fingerprints. Afterwards, Kristen puts her hand on Sophia’s shoulder and goes upside her head with a stone. As she stares down at Sophia’s bloody head, she calls her stupid for thinking she could get away with what she did to Rachel.

Later, two DiMera goons arrive, pick Sophia’s limp body up and throw her into the river. Kristen tosses the stone in and says she told Sophia revenge was sweet…

(Good move at the end to display different ways to get confidential help for anyone in crisis).

Brady arrives to see Marlena and tells her that she is now allowed to see Rachel. They switch to discussing Basic Black and Brady says Xander hasn’t backed down from her partnership with Kate. He wants her involved in the business but not if it destroys her peace of mind. Marlena isn’t thrilled but thinks she can figure out a compromise with which everyone can live.

Chanel is in an exam room at University Hospital when Sarah arrives to say they are ready for her in radiology. Chanel returns and Sarah wants her to stay in her gown while the radiologist reads the film.

Brady runs into Sarah in the lobby and they get into Xander and Marlena regarding Basic Black. They decide the best way to combat Kristen and Xander’s antics is to be happy. Just then, Brady gets a call from Steve confirming Sophia’s prints were all over Holly’s tainted pill bottle.

Does Chanel Have Cancer?

Sarah returns and says the radiologist wants to take another x-ray of the left breast followed by an ultrasound. She asks if Chanel has been able to reach Johnny but there’s been no answer.

Sarah runs into Kayla and they consult on Chanel’s case. Kayla asks Sarah’s gut feeling, and she says it’s not good. How much more can this tortured couple go through.

Later, Sarah returns and finds Chanel has vacated the premises.

Brady Reports Sophia’s Dirty Dealings to Jada and Shawn on Days of Our Lives

Jada arrives to visit Shawn (he’s still in the hospital?), who hopes he will be blowing that pop stand soon. Jada is thrilled and says she has his guest room waiting. He tries to show off on his crutches and stumbles into her arms (chemistry is still there). Kayla walks in and Jada tattles on Shawn’s stumbling incident. He says he is ready to go home but his aunt wonders how he can be trusted to take care of himself.

Brady walks in and tells Jada and Shawn the tale of the tainted pill bottle. He says they got the report identifying Sophia’s prints on the bottle. Jada checks it out and says they have enough to bring Sophia in for questioning.

Shawn asks Brady if he is going to put the “Black back in Black Patch.” (They have to stop saying that). Brady asks how he knows and Shawn says he heard from his mom and dad (a Bo and Hope mention!). Shawn assures Brady he will be great and had the best role model. He is so sure John would love Brady joining the family business.

Later, Jada returns and says she will be heading to Sophia’s to handle the situation, but Brady convinces her to let him come.

Stephanie Tells Marlena She Isn’t Equipped to Deal With Joy’s Baby Bombshell

Stephanie shows up for her appointment with Marlena and tells her all about Jeremy, the baby bomb and the kissing incident. She goes into their past relationship and how she got out just in time. Stephanie notes Jeremy was the beginning of a cycle of abusive relationships.

A distraught Stephanie arrives at the hospital to see her mama. She tells her all about Joy and her baby bombshell. Kayla wonders why now and Stephanie fills her in on the Jeremy connection. They compare surprise children situations, but Kayla says Joy is not Ava.

Stephanie worries about her relationship with Alex as things were so strained post-kidnapping. He is being supportive but rather than safe it makes her feel smothered. Stephanie never wants to feel like someone else has control over her.

Stephanie worries she and Alex are doomed. Her kidnapping brought Alex closer to wanting a family and her much further away. Marlena thinks she’s brave for admitting her reluctance to have children. Stephanie thinks she is letting Alex down.

Later, Stephanie says she didn’t sign up for a surprise baby and admits she isn’t equipped to deal with another woman’s child.

Will Sophia Make Johnny Go BOOM? 

Sophia is mixing a concoction in a cup and saying she thinks shooting Johnny would be too easy. Just then, he rouses and finds himself tied to a chair. He asks what she’s doing, and Rachel says she is making his death trap. She turns and says she is there to kill him. Johnny says she doesn’t have to do this, but she disagrees. Rachel says when he backed out of the adoption, Johnny ruined her life. She goes through how horrible it was for her giving birth alone. He ruined her life while Johnny has the perfect existence.

Johnny tells Sophia to think of Trey and not do anything she can’t take back. Sophia says all she does is think of him. Johnny doesn’t deserve to be a father and the only way to solve that problem is to get rid of him. She forces him to apologize for messing up her life and he complies. Afterwards, she picks up a match, strikes it and lights a tea light on the floor.

Sophia explains how the tea light and the full blast stove burners in the kitchen will work together with the nail polish remover to eventually cause an explosion. Johnny go BOOM! He goes nuts saying she could possibly kill so many innocent people. Sophia gets it but thinks he will be responsible for all the death and destruction.

Chanel calls but Sophia ignores it. Johnny worries Chanel and Trey will come home before the explosion, but Sophia is well aware of mother and son being away in Chicago. She decides it’s time to leave and grabs a picture of Trey before walking out the door. Afterwards, Johnny struggles to break the ties that bind him whilst flashing back to memories of Chanel. He screams bloody murder just as Chanel and Trey return.

Later, Chanel and Trey suddenly return. She acts like she already knows what’s going on (is this real?). Johnny yells at her to get gone but Chanel says she won’t leave him. He tells her to blow out the candle but before she can get over to it, the candle melts and catches the nail polish remover. As Chanel stands over the concoction it appears everything goes BOOM!

Sophia sits in her room crying, looking at the picture of Trey and clutching her teddy bear. Later, Sophia writes a note as she reads the continuing flow of horrifying responses to her planted social media post. She reads the dad and desperate note aloud which points a finger at Holly and all but says she is going to take her own life.
