Abby Comforts Jack on The Young and the Restless

Abby sits at Jack’s bedside talking about her relationship with Devon. She thinks something is off with them, but Jack says they will figure a way to talk to each other again as their marriage is strong. Abby thanks him for listening and tears up when she asks again if he is okay. Jack says he hurts all over but will be fine. He knows he will eventually return home to his family and everyone who loves him. With that, Abby says she loves him and makes her exit.

Later, Jack has a nightmare of the moment Patty stabbed him.

Kyle Is Deadset on Taking Revenge Against Victor

Billy and Kyle are at Society discussing the younger Abbott’s desire for revenge against Victor. Kyle notes Victor isn’t untouchable, but Billy reminds him all the people he would be endangering by going forward with his plan. Kyle can’t believe there are people he cares about who not only tolerate but actually back Victor. That being said, he’s still going forward with his plan and Billy is more than interested.

Adam Questions Victor’s Decisions

Victor and Victoria are engaged at the GCAC with Adam and Nick. Victor’s children have no clue why he ever gave Arabesque to Phyllis. Adam understands a bit about his other children but wonders if his father has any ability to make mention of his black sheep son…

They all say Diane is clearly still devoted to him as she almost lost her own life trying to save his. Just then, Kyle and Diane walk in. Traci quickly suggests they all vacate to leave Jack and Diane to talk. She immediately breaks into tears as she is so happy her beloved is okay. Jack is happy Diane is still around as well but wonders if their marriage is still alive and well…

Jill and Billy Try to Hash Out A Lifetime of Issues!

Billy and Jill (as played by Lauren Koslow) are having a contentious conversation at his place. She notes how everything she does draws criticism from him, even when she is trying to extend an olive branch. Jill notes she can’t even tell her son she loves him without him pushing back. Billy says his mother asks like she is the model mother whilst judging him for all his actions, past and present. Billy and Jill take a seat, and she almost begs him to try to hash through their issues as she isn’t even clear how long she has to live (Okay mama, is the guilt trip necessary? It’s Jill, of course it’s necessary).

Jack Freaks Out as Diane Chases Down Patty on The Young and the Restless

Traci is sitting next to Jack in his hospital bed. He is freaked out about Diane whilst his sister is begging him to be calm and get better. He goes on about Markham, but Traci tells him Diane is home and safe (sort of). Jack can’t be calmed and Traci heads out to grab a nurse. Left alone, Jack remembers the situation where Patty stabbed him and begins to go into distress.

In the bowels of the hospital, Diane chases Patty down a hallway and grabs her from behind, pinning her to the wall. Just then, Kyle and an officer run down the stairs. As they run towards the situation, Diane pins Patty to the wall and warns her no one may show up before she chokes her out!

Michael Can’t Believe Cricket Is Siding With Patty Over Diane!

Cricket and Michael are at the GCAC talking about Patty and her treatment. Michael says Dr Markham is clearly not on the up and up, but Cricket thinks her friend is reaching. Michael counters that the not-so-good doctor held Diane hostage and seems to be working in cahoots with Patty. Just then, Lauren arrives on the scene and Cricket exits. Lauren tells Michael that Jack is in serious condition but can’t believe Cricket would actually believe Patty over Diane.

Kyle Brings Diane Home on The Young and the Restless

Kyle and Diane arrive back at the Abbott mansion. She immediately freaks out as the entire bloody scene just came flooding back. Kyle says the love of their family what makes the mansion a home and they will figure it out. Diane and Kyle embrace as they both hope their beloved Jack will be okay.

Phyllis Agrees to A Date With Matt

Matt and Phyllis are hanging at Crimson Lights (again, why??). He is pushing her about Cane, and she says she rescued him from that situation. She wants answers about what Victor is pushing him to do with Cane. Matt says he needs to make new friends, but Phyllis says Cane and Victor are not good choices.

Matt is impressed how Cane built himself from nothing and wants to do the same for himself. He knows he needs to turn the page right now. He remembers every horrible thing he did in his life and wants to put it behind him and make up for it. Phyllis gets it but says Cane is not the one to help him. She also knows Victor is behind everything. Matt asks if he shouldn’t turn to Cane for friendship, should it be her?

Matt and Phyllis get into a larger conversation for which she says she needs something stronger than coffee. He suggests they go to The Shadow Room, which Phyllis is stunned by. Matt says he has to start confronting his demons if he wants to forge a new life.

Patty Accuses Diane of Attacking Her and Jack on The Young and the Restless!

Jack sits bleeding on the floor of the Abbott dining room while he can hear Diane and Kyle talking in the other room. He reaches up to pull off the dining room tablecloth but doesn’t have the strength. Kyle and Diane hear a noise in the other room and are horrified to find Jack bleeding on the floor.

Kyle calls 911 and is surprised to learn they’ve already been called. Afterwards, Diane points out the knife and knows Patty is responsible for everything. She is afraid Patty is still there. Kyle knows it was Patty and he and Diane just keep talking to Jack. Just then, the doorbell rings and the paramedics and police arrive on the scene. Kyle tells the police about Patty, and they get to searching as the paramedics work on Jack. They revive him and Diane tells Jack she and Kyle will be right behind him. Just then, Patty comes downstairs and she and Diane begin screaming at one another. Detective Burrow watches as Patty, very convincingly, blames Diane for the entire bloody mess.

Detective Burrow arrives on the scene and takes control of the crime scene. Kyle comes from the dining room, and the good detective asks him what happened. He fills him in on the Diane’s kidnapping and their arrival home. Burrow is more than annoyed they didn’t inform the police about what was going on. Kyle goes on to say they found Jack on the floor bleeding. Upstairs, police officers enter Jack’s bedroom to find a seemingly terrified Patty begging them not to shoot her. She begs them to help her and identifies herself. Patty has blood all over her and says Diane attacked her and then stabbed Jack, which is why she called the police (Haiduk is convincing). She begs to know if Jack is going to be okay.

Downstairs, the paramedics say Jack’s BP is dropping and they can’t find a pulse. With that, they take out the defibrillator and try to shock him back to life.

Audra Tries to Bait Sienna!

Sienna is at The Shadow Room talking to Noah on the phone about his grandmother. He says she is on the way home and she tells him to stay home and let her handle the business. They get all kinds of adorable, and she realizes he is tired and encourages him to rest. Just then, she gets more customers and wishes him good night. Just then, Audra walks in, much to Sienna’s chagrin.

Audra approaches and Sienna says Noah isn’t there. They get down to snarking at one another, but they both agree they are not in the mood. They get into the Noah of it all and Audra wonders why he would take a night off so soon after opening. Sienna says Noah has a family emergency which involves a health issue, but she’s not at liberty to say. Just then, Noah arrives on the scene. Audra does her best to mess with Sienna and Noah, but neither are buying what she’s selling.

Matt and Phyllis arrive at The Shadow Room and Noah approaches in a fury. Phyllis says Matt isn’t that guy anymore and won’t be any trouble. Noah can’t imagine how she can trust him, and Phyllis reminds him Matt saved Nick’s life. She asks if they get to stay at his establishment and Noah says it’s okay as long as they steer clear of Sienna.

Phyllis tells Matt she knows exactly what it feels like to be branded for her sins. Matt is certain her sins aren’t comparable. Phyllis apologizes for hurting him and says she likes their friendship.

Later…

Patty tells her story of having an evening with Jack when Diane arrived and lost her sh**, attacking her beloved because she couldn’t face the fact they had moved on together. Diane tries to defend herself, but Patty says Diane escaped her therapist’s care to murder them and has blood on her hands to prove it (as does Patty, but whatever).

Audra approaches Noah and tries to catch up. She apologizes for putting him on the spot about his grandmother, and Noah, stupidly, says he knows she cares. Audra jumps on board saying she worries about him with everything that’s happened. They giggle a bit and she says, if you ever need a friend… she grabs his hand as Sienna watches.

Matt makes mention of how hot Phyllis is. She awkwardly avoids his compliment saying he should be careful of Victor and all the danger he clearly presents. Matt notes how Cane doesn’t like her (this dialogue is so strange) and she says he doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t bow to him and he would be well-served to be suspect of Mr Ashby. Matt says the only thing he cares about is being a better him. Phyllis agrees but Matt can’t take her seriously and can’t figure her out. He would like to get to know the woman behind the mask. Phyllis brings up his request for a date and agrees to it (What the hell is happening?).

Cane Makes Holden an Offer… But Will He Refuse?

Holden (Nathan Owens) sits with Cane (Billy Flynn) and Lily (Christel Khalil) at the GCAC. Lily asks about Holden’s plans, but he is unclear on how to move forward. Cane pipes up thinking they might be able to help him with his decision.

Diane and Kyle Drug Creepy Laurence!

Laurence is eating Diane’s meal as Kyle watches from behind. He listens in as the creepy doctor pours the wine and talks to Diane about transference. She notes the feelings that can develop between doctor and patient but notes, if they’re real, there is no reason not to. confront them head on. Kyle is horrified to hear Laurence say he returns Diane’s feelings just as he begins to get very sleepy. She begins to smile as she tells him the canapés he ate were laced with the sleeping meds he provided her. Diane yells out for Kyle to come out. Later, Diane grabs the keys from the doctor, gives them to Kyle and tells him to quickly figure out how to unlock the door.

Jack Calls Patty’s Bluff on The Young and the Restless

Jack enters his bedroom to find Patty presenting herself for sexy time. He says nothing will ever happen between them again, but Patty reminds him of her earlier warning. Jack doesn’t care as he is calling her bluff. He goes on to say Kyle is with Diane and they are on the way back home and gives her the details.

Victor/Nikki: The Black Knight (Eric Braeden) makes a stunning choice regarding his estranged wife’s (Melody Thomas Scott) healthcare. Watch for Victor to make a shocking announcement and for Nikki to struggle with her condition.

Matt Outs Victor’s Intentions to Cane

Nick, Noah and Victor are at the ranch talking about Matt. Nick says Matt is out there running around, and his father’s security team isn’t capable of keeping up with him at all times. Noah agrees while Nick wonders what in the world Matt did to earn so much trust from his daddy. Victor notes Matt saved his son’s life. Noah wonders exactly what purpose Matt is serving. Victor says he is helping keep tabs on Cane Ashby’s next possible move against their family. He says if Matt fails to produce, he will know he has no intentions of honoring his word (Or Cane has no intentions of targeting Victor).

Matt and Cane are hanging at Society. Matt betrays Victor saying he’s after Cane, who is not at all surprised. Cane thinks the more interesting question is why Victor is using Matt to do his bidding. He wonders about Matt’s connection to the Newman family. Matt minimizes the situation saying he knew Adam, ran out of money and stayed in town. Cane is suspect but Matt doubles down saying he is only good for Victor if he knows if Cane is actually coming after the Newmans.

Stephanie Offers Nate a Possible Path Back to Surgery on The Young and the Restless

Stephanie and Nate are having a drink at the GCAC. She says she has no second thoughts about returning to town. Nate thinks it’s all about Holden, but Stephanie says it’s about everything, both family and work. He talks about his career in business and how he recently closed a deal. Stephanie turns to him with an excitement and asks if business or surgery blows his skirt up more. Nate doesn’t want to go down that road because his injuries will always prevent him from returning to his first love. Stephanie says she consulted with an orthopedic surgeon who thinks Nate’s hand can be repaired returning him to surgery!

Billy Wants to Know Why Jill Doesn’t Trust Him

Jill, Billy and Cane continue their contentious conversation at the GCAC. Billy calls his mother “Jill” which she notes before he goes back into why it’s oh so important he stay away from Chancellor. Cane tries to protect Jill, but Billy warns him to back off. Jill pushes back and tells Cane she is capable of dealing with Billy. Cane can’t help himself saying he knows his brother is pissed off because he is running Chancellor.

Billy and Cane’s fight gets even more intense. Cane shoots a look at Jill before making his exit. Jill admits she thinks Billy is paranoid as she is not carrying any deep dark agenda against her. As Cane hangs out behind them, Billy wonders if there is some deep issue keeping his mother from trusting him. Cane can’t help himself and begs Billy to work things out with his mother. He hugs Jill and walks out, leaving her alone with Billy.

Jill pushes Billy to stick around to work things out and eventually he returns to the table. He changes tactics and thinks she should get settled in and they can meet up for dinner later with Sally. Jill would like to have the difficult conversation but is happy to be easy and breezy discussing weddings and babies. They get emotional with one another when Billy says he doesn’t know if he can handle learning why he isn’t worthy of his mother’s trust.

Jill says she sold Chancellor back to Victor because she had fallen ill and thought it right to go back to the person to whom Katherine originally left it. Billy pushes for a connection to his failings but she says none exist. Jill tells him she was the secret benefactor behind Abbott Communications and Billy said he almost forced it out of Sally. She thinks her investment should prove her trust but Billy thinks his mother was simply throwing him a bone.

Traci Wants to Strangle The Life Out of Patty on The Young and the Restless

Kyle is leaving a message for his daddy when he meets up with his Aunt Traci at Society. She asks if the trouble is about Patty Williams. They take a seat and Traci realizes she was right about Patty’s therapist. She is stunned to learn Kyle actually knows where Diane is.

Kyle goes into the psychiatrist who is “treating” his mother and the man he earlier sent in his stead to give them an update. Traci is rightfully suspicious when Kyle says he followed the man not back to a hospital but a large estate. Kyle reviews the whole convoluted story, and they both assume Patty foiled their attempt to rescue Diane, both wonder where Jack actually is.

Traci recounts to Kyle how she ran into Patty with Laurence and felt like she was looking into the face of evil, much like Martin Laurent. She wants to take action and head to the good doctor’s house. Kyle talks her down from the idea as they could be falling into a trap. Traci is still so furious at Patty for Colleen’s death and, to this day, dreams about killing her but never finishes the job.

Kyle tells Traci a story about him and Harrison finding a box of Colleen’s things in the attic, including a tape recorder. Colleen used the tapes to record herself singing and Harrison liked them so much he played them at night when he felt lonely or had nightmares. Traci dissolves into tears as she misses her daughter so much.

Laurence Threatens to Re-Institutionalize Patty!

Patty is in Laurence’s living room having a session… she wonders if she could possibly be a danger to others. He has no desire to play any sort of patient games with her as he is clearly looking forward to Diane’s arrival. Patty reminds Laurence how she stopped the Kyle and Jack of it all. Had she not done so, their plan would be over.

Patty goes off and reminds the good doctor what happens when she is annoyed… she breaks things. Laurence wants to pull back on their plan whilst Patty wants to go full steam ahead. He says the relationship between Jack and Diane is stronger than anticipated. Patty doesn’t care and tell him to work with her to break them apart, otherwise, she will drag the good doctor down with her.

Laurence tries taking psychiatrist role with Patty, who isn’t having it. He reminds her that he knows her rehabilitation was wildly exaggerated and lets Patty know he can recommend a different treatment plan if she begins to spiral. Patty is none too happy but leaves when Diane returns. She walks in and asks to whom the good doctor was speaking.

Laurence offers up all kinds of lame excuses about the voices Diane heard. She continues her game, saying she is happy to learn her meds will be here soon as she needs a good night sleep. Further, she is ready to admit Jack has moved on with Patty so she can deal with her anger and move on with her life.

Later… Jill suggests she and Billy just talk without getting intense or throwing insults.

Cane asks Lily if they can bring Billy on board at Chancellor.

Diane heads off to take a shower but before, she asks if they can have dinner together. Laurence says he would like that very much.

Patty returns to the Abbott mansion and pours herself a giant glass of dark liquor. She heads across the room and turns over a picture of Jack and Diane. She tells photo-Diane Jack is now her man and this mansion is hers. With that, she takes the photo and puts it away in a drawer.

The new crime drama will debut this fall exclusively on the network. The series centers on Moore’s Hondo of the L.A.P.D.'s Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) division, who leaves the 20-David Squad; the cop is sucked back into action to head up the last-chance experimental S.W.A.T. team comprised of raw and unpredictable young recruits. Hondo and his new team must bridge the generational divide as he butts heads with different personalities and whips the squad of outsiders into a proficient team that can protect the City of Angeles while also saving the program that made him the man he is.

Moore will executive produce the series, commissioned by Sony Pictures Television, which will premiere Sept. 25 on STARZ.

Nick, Victoria and Claire Take a Break From Worrying About Nikki

Nick, Victoria and Claire are at Crimson Lights taking a break from the hospital. Claire notes that her grandpa stayed behind, and Nick says he knew he wouldn’t leave his mother’s side. Sharon and Noah arrive and Nick fills them in on Nikki’s surgery and her blindness. Sharon wonders if it’s related to her MS, but Victoria says there is a large mass pressing on her optic nerve. Noah inquires and Victoria fills him in on all the possible complications. Sharon asks if Summer has been informed but Nick says he has held off on telling her about the issue (Does anyone else think this many recent Summer mentions means she’s on the way back?).

Claire heads off to grab their food when Holden walks in. He has been brought up to speed by his mother (HIPAA!) and Victoria and Nick join in to thank Stephanie for saving Nikki’s life. Holden can relate to their family’s issues based on what’s recently happened with Malcolm. They go back and forth about Nikki’s condition when he says nothing is guaranteed.

Victoria decides to head back to the hospital and tells Noah to stay behind with his parents. Nick returns to the table saying he contacted Adam to let him know he will need to pick up the family slack. Sharon and Noah declare their worry for Nick and all the responsibility he is taking on. He promises to try not to give back in to his addiction but can’t guarantee anything.

Nick knows his addiction is something he can’t handle on his own and wants to go to a meeting before heading back to the hospital. Lucas and Sharon offer to go with him. Nick immediately turns down the offer but then thinks maybe they could drive him, but notes they don’t need to stay. Sharon and Noah give Nick sh** for officially accepting help and they all giggle together.

Holden and Claire head out to the park to decompress from all the family drama. He talks about getting outside to gain some perspective, but Claire remembers being raised by her Aunt Jordan who rarely let her outside… which all changed when she became a Newman.

Victor and Stephanie Figure Out Their Connection on The Young and the Restless

Victor is at Nikki’s bedside, though she isn’t there, and thinks back to their arguments of the previous few weeks. He continues thinking back on their history, juxtaposing the good times with the more recent bad… including just how horrid he was to his supposed beloved.

Stephanie approaches Nikki’s room and tells Victor all about her progress. He asks about her blindness, but Stephanie says they can’t know until Nikki wakes up. He thanks her for making everything possible and says he is in Stephanie’s debt forever.

Victor thinks Memorial should be grateful to have Stephanie as her chief of staff. She notes they never crossed paths back in the day but of course, she knows THE Victor Newman. They talk a bit more about their connections to each other when Victor notes Holden and Claire’s connections to one another. Just then, Victoria enters, confirms their connection and says they are together right this moment.

As Per Usual, Jill Tries to Mediate Billy and Cane’s Constant Battle

Billy walks into the GCAC and heads to the bar to sit down with Cane. They both discuss the message they received from Jill. Just then, Jill arrives on the scene (being played by Lauren Koslow). Billy and Cane embrace Jill who thinks it’s funny they believe she has one foot in the grave. They all head to their table, and Jill asks about Chancellor being back in Cane’s hands. Billy clearly had no clue and asks for details.

Cane says he is Chancellor’s new CEO and says Lily appointed him to the position. Billy can’t understand how Victor let this happen, but Cane says he has no say as the company was fully signed over to his former beloved, who put him in charge. Billy can’t believe Cane’s luck and the two get all kinds of snarky before Jill apologizes for bringing up the topic. Billy thinks his mother and Cane wanted this result all along.

Billy is done with all these hijinks and announces he and Sally are getting married and having a baby. Cane congratulates his brother, but Jill is mostly annoyed she is just hearing about these major life decisions.

Billy and Cane go back and forth about Chancellor and their entire history. They work themselves into a frenzy before Jill slams her hands on the table and tells them to stop!

Later… A nurse arrives in Nikki’s room and tells Stephanie that Nikki is out of surgery.

Holden tries to distract Claire from thinking of her grandmother by telling her about a job from his teenage years of being a chicken mascot for a restaurant… which worked. Just then, she gets a call from her mother saying Nikki is out of surgery.

Nick tries to explain to Sharon and Noah how he always bets on his parents to reconnect. Just then, Victoria calls to let him know their mother is out of surgery. With that, Noah and Nick head out.

Jill can’t understand why Billy and Cane can’t get out of each other’s ways! Billy goes on and on before Cane says his faux-bro is simply jealous of Jill’s approval. Jill tries to be an intermediary but Billy says the only way he is ever getting over anything is if she tells him why he has never been good enough.

Claire, Noah and Nick arrive at the hospital to check on Nikki and Stephanie promises to check on her… just as Nikki is wheeled back into her room.

A New York native, Weston (née Ellen Weinstein) headed to Broadway as an understudy in 1960; she appeared on the Great White Way opposite future Law & Order star Steven Hill in 1961 and in Mary, Mary in 1962. From 1963 to 1964, she played Robin Fletcher on The Guiding Light; from 1964 to 1965, Weston portrayed both Carol Pearson and Karen Gregory on Another World. In the late '60s, Weston hit primetime, starring on Season 3 of Get Smart, while she landed the recurring role of Betty Harrelson on Season One of the original S.W.A.T. series. Weston returned to daytime between 1978 and 1980, popping up in Genoa City as the ex-wife. of Katherine Chancellor's (Jeanne Cooper) husband Derek Thurston (Joe LaDue) on The Young and the Restless.

By 1986, Weston had turned to the pen, writing for Capitol; she worked as GL's co-head writer from 2003 until David Kreizman took the role. For her work on GL, Weston won a Writers Guild of America award.

Also a songwriter (penning tunes with Lesley Gore) and writer/producer, Weston attended law school and was twice married. She's survived by her son, sound engineer Jon Weston.

Her friends told THR in a statement that Weston was:

a rare person who had both right and left-brain proficiency … she was as skilled at a legal brief as she was with a knitting needle.

She was our consigliere dispensing advice, wisdom, compassion and care in equal measure — especially when we most needed an ear, a shoulder and a true confidante. She was beyond a loyal friend — she was a fierce advocate for every single one of us.

She took excellent care of herself, always tastefully put together with gorgeous outfits, the perfect makeup and more. Up until the very end, she was still dancing and taking new classes; the latest was a pottery class taught by a dear friend that ended a month before her passing.

Patty’s Plan Puts Jack and Diane in Peril!

Kyle (Michael Mealor) meets up with Traci (Beth Maitland) at Society. He asks if she has heard from his dad (Peter Bergman) because he thinks trouble might be a-brewing.

Diane (Susan Walters) is manipulating Laurence (Jere Burns) at his house of therapy. She asks about the psychological term for developing feelings for your therapist. He says such a thing is quite common and Diane says she looks forward to their next session.

Griffith first joined the show in 2006 and became a co-executive producer in 2008 before leaving the show. He returned to the show in 2018 as a supervising producer and took over as head writer after Mal Young left in 2019 and became its showrunner in 2023. Who will take over? As of right now, there is no news about who will air the seven-time Emmy winner’s material or how long it will air.

Griffith first broke into daytime in 1988 as a breakdown writer, then as a scriptwriter for Santa Barbara until 1991. He then joined One Life to Live in 1991 as an associate head writer and became a co-head writer with Michael Malone in 1992 until 1995. Griffith left the series to co-create Santa Barbara with Bob Guza in 1997 until 1999. Griffith then joined As The World Turns as a scriptwriter from 2005 to 2006, and later worked at General Hospital as a script writer before moving to a breakdown writer and story consultant.

Griffith made a brief return to Y&R in 2012 for a year, then joined Days of Our Lives as co-head writer in 2015 until 2016, when he returned to Genoa City.

Diane: She (Susan Walters) plots her escape.

Jill: Ms. Foster Abbott (played by Lauren Koslow) surprises all when she hits Genoa City to visit both Billy (Jason Thompson) and Cane (Billy Flynn). Jill pushes both of her boys to bury the hatchet.

Billy: The Abbott screw-up sabotages Sally’s (Courtney Hope) latest venture.

Kyle: He (Michael Mealor) and Traci (Beth Maitland) are concerned by the latest move pulled by Patty (Stacy Haiduk). Look for Kyle’s plan to save Diane to take an unexpected turn.

Jack: Old Smilin’ (Peter Bergman) lays a tap for Patty. Watch for Jack as he plays a dangerous game with his ex.

Cane: He goes to Lily (Christel Khalil) for help.

Noah Questions Phyllis’ Connection to Matt on The Young and the Restless

Noah, Matt and Phyllis are having a moment at Genoa City’s The Shadow Room. Matt understands this new normal is kind of odd for everyone. They all agree and Phyllis compliments Noah on the bar before saying it would have been nice for Summer to attend the opening. Noah notes it would be a long way to travel for one night. Phyllis knows she could have stayed with many people, but she is no longer on that list. She asks Noah if her daughter knows that Newman is back in Victor’s hands, but he has no clue as it didn’t come up in his last conversation with her.

Matt speaks up asking to have a conversation with Phyllis. Noah is very curious why Phyllis seems this close to him. He says Matt hasn’t changed but Phyllis takes the opposite approach, saying she is more than willing to have a kind and compassionate conversation with this changed man. Afterwards, Phyllis sashays away as Matt follows.

Claire Finds Herself Square in The Middle of Her Grandparents’ Drama

Claire and Victor are hanging at the GCAC. He probes her for information about her grandmother which Claire is uncomfortable providing. Victor makes his exit as Holden walks through the front door. Holden knows something is wrong and Claire explains her grandparents need each other more than ever, despite their estrangement. Her grandmother is going through a health crisis which she thinks supersedes their original argument… leaving her in the middle and not knowing what to do.

In a chat with Soap Opera Digest, Griffith said that, once the soap learned that Walton wouldn't be able to travel to California from her home in Oregon to shoot major scenes, he brainstormed possible temporary substitutes. He came up with Koslow (who actually played Lindsay Wells on Y&R in the 1980s) because he worked with Koslow at DAYS and saw similarities between Jill and Kate.

Griffith said:

We reached out to her. She was contracted on DAYS, but because of Sony we were able to reach out to them, and they very graciously agreed to let us work out a scheduling thing so that we could shoot when she wasn’t shooting over there.

But what brings ex-social climber Jill back to Genoa City? She's intervening yet again between biological child Billy (Jason Thompson) and her would-be son Cane (Billy Flynn). Plus, Griffith said Jill needs to keep a secret that Billy isn't supposed to discover.

Griffith added that Walton is still Jill, and he hopes Walton can return to the show when she is available.

Stafford and Howarth are both soap vets, and they share chemistry, which fans got to see during the time their General Hospital characters, Nina and Franco, spent together romantically. Now, their Genoa City alter egos are sharing some screen time, as Matt tackles trying to get other residents of the Wisconsin metropolis to forgive him after he raped, and tormented, people over the years.

Meanwhile, bad girl Phyllis may have run down someone decades ago, but she's more into corporate espionage, thankfully, than crimes like Matt's. Given that Matt's number-one nemesis (and the man he recently got hooked on dangerous drugs) is also Phyllis' ex, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), that might be a hindrance to passion.

Could the redhead and the rapist find love? Griffith told SOD:

Phyllis was never a victim of Matt’s horrors. And in Matt, she’s seeing someone who wants to change, who wants to be redeemed and who wants forgiveness. And in an odd way, they’re kind of kindred spirits in that aspect.

Laurence Tries to Gaslight Diane on The Young and the Restless!

Laurence and Diane are in his house (again, why?) engaging in a therapy static. He asks her if she wants to break the spell of her mental health issues and she plays along. He asks how she ended up on the yacht. Diane capitulates and explains how she and Kyle were searching for Jack for so long. She notes the worry they had when she and Kyle thought Patty might have been a part of the issue (Did they know? I don’t think they did). When they boarded the boat, she only wanted to find her husband and take him home. She talks about finding Jack in bed with Patty as one of the worst days of her life. Laurence presses about her feelings moving forward and Diane says she was in shock and her heart couldn’t process what her eyes saw.

Diane says she can’t totally blame her husband. Laurence notes the drugs and Diane immediately wonders how Laurence knows anything. He says she already filled him in but Diane says she never said any of that out loud. Lawrence lies saying she told him everything when she was breaking down in her car. Diane decides to ignore his comments and admits Jack was on libido enhancing drugs, Laurence questions her responses as the type of drugs she is describing wouldn’t negate his ability to make actual decisions. He shifts the conversation to gaslight Diane and wonders if Jack did what he did to force his wife to question his actions.

BTG earned its third best ratings ever with the assist from Y&R and some of its biggest names, according to Variety.

Soap operas haven't featured many crossover events recently and it appears to be exactly what viewers were craving. BTG gained 11 percent over its season-to-date numbers with the arrival of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).

The tornado striking during Martin's (Brandon Claybon) political fundraiser, delivered powerful drama. From Martin being trapped under a fallen tree and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) being severly injured while trapped with Kat (Colby Nixon) to Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani (Karla Mosley) having elevator sex, Abby's near death by chandelier and much more, there was so much to keep viewers engaged and returning each day.

Phyllis Questions Cane and Matt’s New Connection on The Young and the Restless

Phyllis runs into Cane and Matt hanging out at Crimson Lights (this is so weird and unnecessary). She wonders why and how they are together, and Matt says he’s responsible as he was taken aback by the legend who is (or was) Aristotle Dumas. Phyllis goes off about how he is actually Cane Ashby and all the reasons the name switch matters. Matt talks overtime about why he was interested in talking with Cane and Phyllis wonders if he is requesting trade secrets. Matt admits everything is a wee awkward since the Newmans are his hosts and Cane finds the entire situation conveniently interesting…

Sienna and Audra are chatting it up about Noah at The Shadow Room. Audra thinks Sienna is threatened by her. Sienna says her mean girl energy doesn’t bother her in the slightest. Audra doubles down reminding Sienna of her marriage to Matt and how she had to have Noah which put him in harm’s way. She says Noah was always to good for her. Sienna turns the tables and wonders if Audra always felt the same which wrecked her relationship with Noah from jump. They go back and forth before Sienna really digs in and correctly says that Audra clearly always wanted and demanded more than Noah was willing to give. She feels sorry for her and wonders what women like her to when they go home alone. Sienna says whatever it is that Audra wants from Noah, she won’t get it, as he is not interested. Just then, the man of the hour arrives on cue.

Chelsea and Adam sit down at Society. She is livid that they got screwed. He validates her annoyance, but she continues. Chelsea notes how everyone is feeling so sorry for Nikki because Victor sold her out but wonders where the sadness is for Newman Media. Adam agrees but corrects her saying Phyllis got the ball rolling leading Billy to wrap their company in a bow for Sally. Chelsea doesn’t care because they worked hard to build a business which has now been stolen from them. Adam feels badly for talking her out of her job at Marchetti where she did what she loved. He wonders if she should call Summer, who he is certain would welcome her back. Adam wonders if it’s time to her everything go.

Phyllis Tries to Use Arabesque to Tempt Cane on The Young and the Restless

Phyllis and Cane are at Crimson Lights where she is probing him about Arabesque. He knows she is baiting him, but she wonders if he isn’t a touch sentimental for the company he started with his father. Cane says he no longer has any feelings in that direction as Victor destroyed it and gave Phyllis the scraps. She pushes, saying the company he created with his father is in tatters and now under her leadership. He says Arabesque is the past and Chancellor is his future. She promises to make Arabesque into something huge which both Cane and Victor will regret leaving in her hands (For the love…).

The DC trio shares what stood out to them, before digging into the meaty drama of the past week.

The Young and the Restless dropped the ball on aligning its storylines with the crossover's continuity. 

Before the fundraiser kicked off viewers finally learned the identity of "The Impaler."

Super Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) saved Abby (Melissa Ordway) from a chandelier cake topper, but why was he so front and center in the disaster? Why wasn't he kicked out instead of being allowed to hang around. Why is Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) so stupid? 

Kat (Colby Nixon) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) trapped together provided great drama, but will anyone be on Kat's side when she doesn't want to donate a kidney to save her half-sister's life?  Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) had some of the best singers of the event, but BTG still gave her moments of humanity as she searched for her missing daughter. 

Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani (Karla Mosley) had sex in the elevator, but what does this mean for Dani and Andre (Sean Freeman)? Should BTG tell a who's the daddy storyline or should they leave a baby out of the picture? Andre professing his fear of losing Dani tore the DC hosts apart. Does Bill want back in the Dupree family? 

Martin went from being trapped under a tree to an asshole in the blink of an eye. 

A couple characters' wigs and eyebrows distracted the hosts from the drama. 

The tornado event definitely provided an opportunity for some actors to step up, while other actors stumbled under the weight of the special episodes. 

The hosts reveal their final thoughts on the Beyond the Gates / The Young and the Restless disaster crossover before rating the event.

Jack and Kyle Officially Report Diane’s Disappearance

Jack is at the mansion thinking back to when Diane caught him in Patty in bed and confronting Patty about their time on the ship. In real-time, Kyle says Diane hasn’t been seen anywhere since they came back from Fairmont Crest. They both thought Diane was drawing closer after the trauma of the storm. Just then, Jack gets a call from a PI who says her car has been parked at the GCAC for two days and her bed hasn’t been slept in. Jack places a call to Detective Burroughs as he tells Kyle he thinks Diane is missing and believes he knows who is behind it.

Detective Burroughs arrives at the Abbott mansion and Kyle and Jack give him details of Diane’s disappearance. Jack says he thinks the culprit is Patty Williams and fills him in on her criminal history and hatred for Diane. The good detective asks for evidence, but Jack says there is none. He probes about marital problems and Jack reports truthfully about their separation.

Detective Burroughs asks if Diane has ever disappeared like this before (uh oh). Kyle hesitates before he explains his mother runs a critical division at Jabot and wouldn’t leave town without getting someone to cover. The good detective promises to get back to them and exits. Afterwards, Kyle wonders if his mother has disappeared on purpose like she did all those years ago. Jack gets it but thinks this situation is completely different.

Traci Catches Patty Acting Shifty With Her Creepy Doctor on The Young and the Restless

Patty meets up with Lawrence who says she will be very pleased with the outcome of whatever he did for her. Patty removes an envelope of cash and passes it to Lawrence under the table. She says she is going to need proof everything is going as planned before they move to the next phase. Just then, Traci walks up and calls Jack to update him on Patty’s meeting with an unsavory man.

Traci walks up and runs into the unsavory character before she walks over to Patty, who tries to exchange pleasantries. Traci has no time and asks who the man is she was meeting with and wonders what torturous hell they are cooking up. Patty lies saying he is the doctor who treated her at the out-of-town clinic. Traci accuses her of lying but Patty doubles down on her story.

Patty says she is so sorry for all she’s done to Traci’s family and isn’t the same person she used to be. She goes on and on about her psychiatrist and his world-renowned reputation. Traci thinks she is pedaling hogwash and knows Patty is the same demented creature she has always been. Just then, Jack walks up and demands to know where she stashed Diane.

Patty says she had nothing to do with Diane’s disappearance and thinks he needs to cut his losses and move on. Jack says he is never going to be with her and notes he has called the police. Patty is glad he’s investigating Diane’s disappearance but thinks the result will not be what he is expecting. Jack says once Patty’s involvement has been proven, she will be sent back to her institution and remain the rest of her days. He and Traci storm off just as Patty receives a text.

Traci and Jack return to the mansion where she tells him the name of the doctor with whom Patty claimed to be meeting. Jack looks him up and Traci identifies him. Despite the proof he is who Patty said, Traci says he was all kinds of creepy and sent chills through her spine. Traci goes on to talk about how Patty was sent to one facility and then transferred to another where she was under the care of the creepy doctor. Jack wonders how she knows all this information and Traci notes she had to keep up with everything because Patty was responsible for Colleen’s death (and also why her heart beats inside Victor).

Patty Tells Jack That Diane Had a Breakdown on The Young and the Restless

Traci heads off to take a call when Patty shows up at their door. She wedges her way through the door and asks for a drink as they have some things to discuss. Jack has no time, but Patty pulls out her phone and shows him a picture of a sleeping Diane. She caresses her face and says they should talk about Diane’s future and theirs.

Jack demands to know what Patty did with Diane and confronts her lies. Patty says she only lied to protect him from the crazy woman he calls his wife. Jack pushes and Patty says Diane is exactly where she needs to be after suffering such a tragic breakdown. She says Diane couldn’t face the fact Jack was drawn to another woman. Patty found her after she lost her mind and she is now in a place where she will receive the help she needs.

Patty repeats herself saying Diane had a mental breakdown and Lawrence recommended a clinic and a doctor who will help with her recovery. Jack picks up the phone to call the police unless Patty reveals all right now. Patty says calling the police will prove disastrous to Diane and her well-being. She tells him to fix drinks for the both of them and then he can listen to what she has to say.

Jack pours Patty a drink but not one for himself. He changes direction and admits to the connection he has with Patty. Jack promises never to bring Diane up again if she will simply tell him where she is. Patty thinks they should sit back and allow Diane’s healing process to take its course. He asks about timing and she says it could take years. Patty says, unfortunately, the Diane he knows and loves will never return to him.

Diane Wakes Up to a Patty-Fueled Nightmare

A distraught Diane is going through a house asking if anyone is there. Diane has no clue where she is and wonders if she is actually engaged in a Patty-fueled nightmare. She tells herself to focus and think logically. She looks around the room and finds a door which is locked from the outside.

Diane looks around and eyes a bookcase loaded with texts all authored by Alan Laurent (Sweet Lord…). She freaks out before beginning her search to try and find something to help her open the front door (as she jostles the handle, she can hear barking dogs outside). Just then, Diane finds a letter opener and goes to work on the lock.

Diane has zero success with the lock when the door opens revealing Patty’s doctor, Lawrence. She holds the letter opener up in defense and the creepy doctor says she looks better than when she first arrived. Diane demands to know where she is and what’s going on. Lawrence says they’ll get there but first wants to evaluate her mental state. They go back and forth when Diane learns she is at the creepy doctor’s private residence. He says she will be staying there until he determines where she needs to go next.

Diane doesn’t understand why she needs Lawrence to take care of her. He says he brought her to his home (why?) after her nervous breakdown. Diane denies everything and Lawrence notes she doesn’t remember any of the events that allegedly occurred. She demands he get out of her way so she can leave. He picks up the letter opener, locks the door and heads to the other room to make tea (Don’t drink it!).

The creepy doctor returns with tea but Diane says she won’t be consuming anything he places before her. Lawrence says he has no ill intentions and takes a big sip from a cup. Diane asks where she was found and Lawrence says she was found on a country road (Old Decatur Road?) screaming and inconsolable. Diane wonders why Jack wasn’t called but Lawrence says he was. He arrived expecting Diane to return to Genoa City with him, but when he saw her erratic state, they decided together she should be in treatment. Jack blamed himself for her state of mind and told the creepy doctor to make her better. Diane isn’t buying what he is selling, and he once again asks what she remembers.

Later… Patty tells Jack that Diane is no longer an option for him. They are going to be together now as they always should have been. If not, something unexpected could happen to Diane. Jack thinks Patty is insane, but she claims a firm grip on reality. She thinks they have come full circle and are now free to explore the passion which reignited on the ship.

Diane tells Lawrence she remembers being at her Jabot office around 9pm. He thinks that makes sense as he found her around 9:45pm, screaming and inconsolable. Diane asks what he thinks is wrong with her. Lawrence thinks she suffered a nervous breakdown from feelings of betrayal and has been using denial to shield the pain. He thinks they can work through the denial and figure out the foundation. Diane agrees but wants to go to a clinic where she can access professional resources.

Now, Diane is missing, even as actor Jere Burns was cast as a doc in her storyline (and it was revealed on Monday's episode he's got her captive and Patty is involved). But since everything has gone down, Jack's world is in pieces. He did once forgive her for faking her death, but she's not able to forgive him at this time. However, Bergman told Soaps.com:

I think for the audience, it’s a fun story when someone who has needed forgiveness has to learn to forgive. I hope the writers continue to explore that. This is somebody who needed forgiveness and is having trouble forgiving.

Burns will play a new character, Dr. Laurence Markham, who will share scenes with Diane. The ex-model hasn't been on our screens since May, when she left husband Jack (Peter Bergman) a voicemail. With the MD on screen, now fans may find out what actually happened to Diane. Of course, in the meanwhile, Diane has appeared alongside Jack in the great The Young and the Restless/Beyond the Gates crossover, but the show' differing production timelines mean the storylines don't quite line up time-wise.

Walters told the site:

 I loved working with Jere Burns on Dear John, so I was thrilled when I was told that we’d be working together again on Y&R. He was a fantastic scene partner in this upcoming story arc.”

Fans may recognize Burns from roles on hits like Justified or FBI. Burns debuts on Y&R on Monday, June 15.

Will Cane and Lily Officially Reunite?

Cane (Billy Flynn) and Lily (Christel Khalil) are getting awfully close at Crimson Lights. He notes how he thinks they can accomplish great things together and she concurs. Cane asks her to come a little closer and they both lean in. Will they seal their new partnership with a public kiss?

Audra and Nate Reconnect on The Young and the Restless

Audra and Nate are sitting together at Society. He is discussing an offer he isn’t certain he will take. She says she doesn’t regret doing what she needed to do to get ahead as that’s somehow what it takes. Nate thinks looking out for yourself is a rich justification for being bad, which perplexes Audra. She apologizes for deceiving him about working with Victor as she never meant to hurt him. She also notes they are together at the same table after dealing with everything they have.

Nate believes Audra is a different person than she was before. He believes working with Sally may very well have allowed her to learn to trust and changed the course of her path forward. Nate admits Audra is a fascinating woman and hopes, one day, she can stop looking over her shoulder.

Genoa City Arrives to Celebrate The Grand Opening of The Shadow Room on The Young and the Restless!

Lily, Malcom and Stephanie are hanging out at the grand opening of The Shadow Room. They tease him about moving back to Genoa City and all have a good giggle.

Claire and Holden approach the bar and engage with Sienna, who is behind the bar. Claire spots Sally and she congratulates her on the amazing engagement news. Holden heads over to Audra as they both freak out a little about the replicated location of their secret.

Outside, Victoria runs into Lily who congratulates her on Malcolm’s surgery… but Lily thought she was talking about Chancellor Industries. Victoria clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She says her father wouldn’t do such without consulting her (Is she new?). Victoria is beside herself as she can’t believe Lily and her father would inflict this type of pain on their mother. Lily doesn’t care as it’s all a done deal and walks away. Just then, Victoria gets a call and heads outside.

Adam and Billy are at Society and says when Connor was first diagnosed, he had a dream where Delia came to him saying it was the beginning of his penance. He believes that is something Delia would say, but hopes, wherever she is, she never gives Adam a second thought.

Clifton Davis, who plays Anita's devoted husband, Senator Vernon Dupree, said of the "landmark event":

I believe that it is one of the most exciting experiences of this shooting season, to have multiple characters from 'Y&R,' 'Young and Restless,' to come over and mingle with the Fairmont Crest crowd. Come on! This is pretty special.

Tunie even does a spot-on impression of Braeden as Victor! Meanwhile, Cumming, Georgia native Michael Mealor (Kyle, Y&R) is at home (literally) on BTG's Atlanta set. Coming to a place that he recognizes, somewhere that's now a TV studio, is unique. He said:

It's surreal. The film industry has developed this city in a way that I never expected.

Karla Mosley (Dani, BTG) added:

It's setting a fun precedent because I used to love seeing shows cross over, and now, you know, to see your favorite characters and you know, you'll be like, ‘Well, they were just in Switzerland and now they're here. it's the the multiverse. It's all coming together.’

Cast members of BTG were excited to work with the Y&R cast but couldn’t stop raving about the opportunity to work with Eric Braden (Victor, Y&R). Clifton Davis (Vernon, BTG) said about working with the actor:

I mean, Eric Braeden, c’mon!

What did Braeden have to say about going down south to ATL to film and work with the cast of BTG? The Emmy winner stated:

I’m very impressed with how welcoming everyone has been in Atlanta. This is like Hollywood in the old days.

MTS revealed toSoapSteph's Daytime Dish that this is a new condition for the socialite (Nikki already deals with multiple sclerosis and alcoholism). She explained:

I've never played a character with this new diagnosis that Nikki will receive, so I spent more time than usual doing research and prepping.

No word yet on what Nikki's major medical diagnosis may be, but needless to say, she will have to face it head on. That comes after initially brushing off her symptoms due to stress and existing medical conditions. Thomas Scott said:

“The timing of Nikki’s headaches lines up with recent stress from her problems with Victor, along with Nicholas’s issues, so it’s easy for Nikki to attribute her headaches to these current events. Nikki has a full plate, so she initially brushes them off, thinking they are tension headaches. Unfortunately, Nikki’s condition will soon get progressively worse to the point where she will be forced to get medical attention.

Victor Offers Matt a Get Out of Prison Free Card

Matt, Victor and Nick are at the ranch. Matt isn’t clear why they are having such a calm meeting when he apparently did all these horrid things to the Newman family. Victor says he wants to work with him and surprises Nick by offering to house him on the ranch.

Matt is as confused as Nick is about Victor’s offer. He says if he stays close by he can keep an eye on him. Matt asks if Nick is as confused as he is, and he concurs. Victor says he wants Matt to take care of Cane Ashby (What fu**ery is this mess?).

Victor wants Matt to befriend Cane and become his valuable ally. Matt wonders what he is supposed to do next. Victor says Matt will be his spy who will report back on all Cane’s activities. He wants Matt to help the Newmans to get even with Cane for taking Newman from him. Matt is confused as Victor got his company back. Victor says as long as Cane is doing Genoa City business, he is a danger. Matt doesn’t want anything to do with his former persona and will not agree to the plan.

Victor asks Matt to reconsider as the alternative is to go to prison. Victor gets it but asks Nick to talk some sense into to him. Nick would but actually agrees with Matt about this insane plan. Victor ignores his son and addresses Matt saying he will either agree to befriend Cane and do his dirty work or go back to prison. Matt hems and haws before he agrees (How in the world is Matt Clark just going to continue to walk around Genoa City?).

Adam arrives and is stunned to learn Matt will be living in the apartment near the stables. Victor says he is going to do a job for him and assures his son he will be watched 24/7. Nick jumps in saying their father is going to have all the charges dropped. Adam asks about the plan, and Victor says he is putting Matt in place to spy on Cane.

Later, Nick admits he is still reluctant to trust amnesiac Matt (for good reason). Victor believes Matt has changed and notes how he saved his life. Adam jumps in to back Nick and Victor thinks his plan is the only way they will ever determine if the change in Matt is permanent.

Cane Accepts Lily’s Offer to Run Chancellor Industries on The Young and the Restless

Lily and Cane are chatting at Society. He is shocked when Lily asks him to run Chancellor for her (WTF?). He asks about Devon, but she says he has too much on his plate. Cane probes about why she doesn’t want to do it (as am I). Lily mentions Victor’s notes about how she belongs at Winters and begrudgingly admits she agrees and also believes he belongs at Chancellor. She is offering him a chance at a fresh start and just then Malcolm walks up.

Lily wants to make sure her father has permission to be out of the hospital, and he says he is cleared for travel and interaction. Malcolm says he convinced his doctors to let him come back to Genoa City to thank his sweet Lily for coming through for him. He asks if he can speak to Cane privately and Lily reluctantly agrees to head over to the bar.

Malcom thanks Cane for saving his life. Cane says he was simply a small part of the process and was happy to help how he could. Malcolm gets it but also knows his help was mostly about Lily. Cane concurs and Malcolm appreciates his honesty. Cane says he lost his father not long ago and wanted Lily and the twins to have the chance to have time with him. Offering Malcolm a chance at new life is also helping him work through his issues. Malcolm is forever grateful and Lily watches as the two shake hands.

Malcolm asks where things stand with Lily. Cane says they are friends and maybe business partners. He would like It to be more, but she isn’t ready or interested in anything more. Malcolm is good with that, and Cane gets it as he knows he has to earn back everyone’s trust. Malcolm thinks Cane’s desire to make amends is commendable. He likes the direction he is going, but says if he ever hurts Lily again, they will be dealing with each other. Just then, Lily walks back over and Malcolm says all is good.

Malcolm says he needs to head out to handle business. He says he will be in town a few days as he wants to get to know Holden. They all say goodbye and Malcolm exits. They chat a bit more and Cane says he and Malcolm are sort of good, but he noted they would deal with each other if he ever hurt her again. Cane looks Lily in the eyes and swears to never hurt her again… and she very much seems to be buying what he is selling.

Lily and Cane sit down to eat, and she asks again about him running Chancellor. He notes he did have some other, not so up and up, plans but saving Malcolm changed his course for the better. She moves along to asking about his legal issues and Cane says they’ve been handled. Lily isn’t at all certain Victor is done with him.

Later, Lily is tickled when Cane agrees to accept her offer to run Chancellor.

Stephanie Accepts The Chief of Staff Position at Genoa City Memorial!

Holden and Claire are hanging out at the outdoor café. He thinks them being together feels easy and right and she concurs. She mentions the Audra of it all and doesn’t want to push for the story but knows there are feelings there.

Claire and Holden talk a bit about the trips they’ve taken, and he admits to loving seeing the world through her eyes. She thinks he’s a bit of a romantic and thinks Stephanie did a great job raising him. They discuss the opening of the Genoa City Shadow Room and Holden says he wants to go to make new memories. He asks if she will be his date and she says she will be delighted.

Stephanie arrives at the café and says she has been offered chief of staff at Genoa City Memorial Hospital. He can’t believe she would leave her practice in New York to come here. Stephanie would do it in a heartbeat but wonders if he truly wants her in such close proximity. Holden tells his mother to call and accept the job and they embrace. Just then, Malcolm arrives on the scene.

Holden introduces Claire and Malcolm. Afterwards, she exits so the family can connect. Mother and dad give Holden the business about Claire. Malcolm gets serious and thanks both of them for helping get his life back. Holden wishes he could have been the donor, but Malcolm says all is good and it’s the thought that counts. Stephanie gives Malcolm the business about his discharge orders before making her exit.

Malcolm and Holden get down to getting to know each other by discussing their baseball preferences. Malcolm knows they won’t be getting to know each other over night, but Holden says they have time.

Later, Malcolm asks what his son is thinking about his future. He mentions the Winters company, but Holden isn’t so sure Devon will play ball. Malcolm is willing to put in a good word, but only if he wears a Yankees cap…

Daytime Confidential's Melodie Aikels conducted a joint Zoom chat with Y&R's Bergman and BTG's Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) last week to get the tea. The talented actors shared their excitement over the temporary merging of their respective CBS soaps, the large scale of the event and offered a sneak peek at what to expect.

Duplaix teased "the energy was palpable" in the makeup room at 6:30 a.m. the first day of filming the crossover. Devon Clocks Lily For Giving Grace Where It Doesn’t Belong!

Devon and Lily are chatting at Crimson Lights about Holden. Lily notes Holden just found out who is father is, which they know a thing or two about. She also notes the added stress of finding out his new father is dying and asks Devon to cut him some slack. Devon rolls his eyes and wonders why Lily constantly gives grace to folks who do not deserve it. Lily thinks her brother needs to stop lashing out at people, but Devon thinks someone has to in order to protect her. Lily thinks the real problem is he doesn’t trust her.

Phyllis and Michael are hanging at the GCAC bar discussing her night before with Nick. She says how awful it was as he was dead in her arms and she had to revive him. Michael calls her a hero, but Phyllis is simply happy Nick is okay. He notes Phyllis could actually do all kinds of heroic acts but never sway Victor as he is solely focused on the reacquisition of his company. Michael wonders how much more Phyllis can take as the Newmans have no intention of stopping their attacks on her. He thinks it’s time for her to move on.

Victor Bristles When Nick Explains How He Enticed Phyllis to Return Newman on The Young and the Restless

Victor and Nick are at the ranch. He says he is grateful Phyllis saved his life, but she is still in the line of fire. Nick says he threatened to turn her over to the Las Vegas PD for aiding and abetting Matt if she doesn’t turn over the company. That being said, he will also help her if she does the right thing. Victor inquires and Nick says he will prove to Cricket the incriminating emails are fake.

Phyllis arrives at the ranch to chat with Victor. She asks about Nick and the drugs, and Victor explains the Matt Clark and fentanyl of it all. Phyllis inquires further and Victor says Fentanyl was Matt’s business back in LA. She seems quite distressed as she knew about Matt’s past via Nick and also his actions from the past few months, but not the drugs (The drugs is what is putting you over the top, Phyllis?!?). Victor confirms but says that same Matt Clark actually saved his son’s life.

Matt is freaking out at fake Shadow Bar and Sienna tries to calm him. Sharon grabs Nick and Noah and says they need to call the police (A voice of reason!). Nick thinks there is nothing the police can do so Sharon suggests they call Detective Burrows. Noah notes he only has jurisdiction in Vegas but maybe they could make it work. Nick gets it but notes if Matt goes on trial they will all have to testify and so much dirty laundry will be aired for public consumption. Nick goes on and Sharon wonders why in the world he is fighting them at every turn.

Matt sits in the corner with Sienna begging her to tell him how many lives she thinks he destroyed. From the other side of the bar, Nick says Matt is useless to them now. He crosses and tells Matt to get up as it’s time to go. Sharon wonders where they are going but Nick has no clue. He tells Noah to stay behind and not to follow them. Afterwards, Sienna freaks out and they all wonder how much more damage must take place.

Billy Asks Jack to be His Best Man

Sally and Billy are at Society discussing their wedding plans. She is thrilled with the app she found, and they discuss the difficult seating chart. He says no matter what happens, she is going to be the most stunning bride ever.

Sally and Billy are getting all kissy when Jack arrives to join them. Billy apologizes as his wedding is probably not what he wants to deal with right now. Jack tells him to stop as Billy’s wedding is giving him hope about reuniting with Diane.

Jack says he is rooting for Billy and Sally to have an Abbott girl! He is kind of excited to do wedding planning and Billy takes advantage saying he has an important question. With that, Sally heads out to meet up with Audra for other business-based reasons.

Jack and Billy talk about Diane’s disappearance. Jack says it’s weird she’s just gone and thinks Patty might have some hand in it. Billy notes he had a conversation with Patty where she said she would deal with Diane to get closer to Jack. He says he told Diane who wrote it off as the delusional ramblings of a stalker. Billy asks what Jack is going to do and he says he’s hired a PI to figure out the situation.

Later, Billy asks Jack to be his best man and he agrees, despite his surprise by the request.

Sally walks around the corner and meets Audra (can we PLEASE get this QUEEN her own storyline?) at an outdoor cafe. They talk about their polling research before Audra coaxes out Sally’s personal issues. Sally says everything is going right which makes her think another shoe is going to drop. Sally says she was totally fine until Jack showed up and said she was “living the dream.” She knows chaos will ensue and must be ready when it does. They chat more and Audra goes over all the things in her life she can control. Sally agrees she needs to focus on the positives.

Later, Sally shows Audra the sketch of her wedding dress and other details for the ceremony.

Victoria Begs Her Parents to Get Their Sh** Together on The Young and the Restless

Nick arrives back at the ranch and Sharon notes how horrible he looks. Victoria asks what happened to his hands. Nick says he had to get some anger out, but Sharon wonders if he did so even after finding out Matt saved his life.

Nick says his encounter with Matt was surreal, but he only sees the scared dude who has amnesia. He tells them he didn’t lay a hand on his nemesis. Just then, Noah arrives with a plan to pull Matt back into reality.

Victor arrives back at the ranch asking about Nick. Victoria reports the meet up happened without any violence. She and Nikki tell him about Noah’s new idea about dealing with Matt. Victoria and Nikki are most concerned about Nick’s recovery, and of course, Victor says he will oversee all of it to make sure his son conquers his demons.

Nikki decides to head out and thanks Victor for reaching out to her when Nick was taken to the hospital. Victor says she’s his mother so… Victoria interrupts and hopes her parents can actually connect. Victor ignores his daughter as he notes his security detail is telling him Nick is going back to Matt Clark’s location.

Victoria tries to connect her parents, but Victor continues to be a jackass. She yells at them about how selfish they are being and storms out. Nikki thinks Victoria is right and asks her husband how they can work through their issues (Nikki bowing to Victor once again is maddening).

Later, Victor says he wants to put their conflict behind them. Nikki will do anything as their marriage is worth saving. Victor tells her to give up her friendship with Jack Abbott. He walks out of the room and Nikki grabs her head. She is shaky as she takes her pills.

Noah Sets an Elaborate Trap to Jog Matt’s Memory

Noah takes his parents to his new club called The Shadow Room (This club totally seems like a rearranged set of The Underground). Noah says he has been meeting with folks to license his work for months. Nick is impressed but creeped out as it’s an exact replica of Sienna’s bar in Los Angeles. Sharon asks about Sienna and Nick thinks she will be blown away. Noah hopes the familiarity of the setting will jostle Matt’s brain.

Sienna walks into the replica of her bar and is stunned by what she sees. She tries to wrap her head around her bar in Genoa City. Sienna clearly doesn’t know what to think and Noah explains he is trying to jar Matt’s memory with a return to a familiar location. He wants them all to move on from this nightmare. Sienna gets it but thinks those memories could cause them all serious grief.

Nick agrees with his son thinking this replica club will likely jar him back to attention. Sharon plays devil’s advocate wondering if that’a what they all need at this moment. Nick gets what she’s saying but thinks if and when Matt gets his memory back, they will regret not preparing for the day.

Matt Clark remains a crying mess in his gym-based prison. After Matt gets all kinds of crazy, Nick returns saying he is taking him some place which might jumpstart his memory.

Matt and Nick arrive at the bar and he smiles at Sienna. He admits to remembering bits and pieces of LA but not a club. Sienna reminds him that he was going by Mitch and the club was a cover for his drug dealing. He seems mortified to hear one more horrible thing. Matt apologizes and Nick tells him to look around to see if anything clicks.

Later, Matt remembers Nick knocking him out and a flash of a connection with Sharon. Next, he flashes to Sienna telling him about Nick Newman. More flashes ensue including connections with Noah and Victor.

The veteran soap scribe told Soap Opera Digest he'd been thinking of ways to keep Howarth (and Matt) around. After all, if a character stays evil and doesn't regret (or pay for) their actions, they usually aren't long for the soap world. But since Matt lost his memory, Griffith felt that could be the catalyst for him to potentially change his ways.

Could Matt be redeemed? Griffith explained:

Of course he can. Absolutely — if he not only shows remorse but atones for his sins, then sure, yes, there is redemption. But the key is atoning; the key is action.

The crossover event begins next week!

According to Y&R Head WriterJosh Griffith, Nikki's growing health issues will be a big problem for her, and Victor is sure to be by his lady love's side while she figures things out. That could theoretically even allow Victor to let go of his animosity towards Jack. Griffith told Soap Opera Digest:

The hope is that when it crosses a line to something where there is jeopardy to the person you love, do you let go of all over the anger and embrace them to help them through it? We can only pray that [he] does.

Another crisis that could bring the two together is their son Nick (Joshua Morrow) battling an addiction to fentanyl. But don't expect Victor to just give up on reclaiming his corporate empire, who will do just about anything to win back Newman Enterprises from Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).
